It's worse when u have to dispense a Rx with that handwriting AND it have the directions in LATIN! 😭😂🤣
But Doc seriously how do they understand your Hand writting
BTW huge respect for you even though I know you’re a foot doctor
No prob. You get used to it.
Sheesh...you are a gorgeous woman
Sit ya ass 12hr a day at a desk and learn intensivly, i Guess.
I feel like doctors writing should be used as code in the military.
Trueeeee an average person can never read it
@@funnycat1333 let alone the chinese and russians who dont even use our alphabet
The enemies would then just need a pharmacist to decipher it.
If you only knew.
"The Nazis had doctors, too. Nazi doctors who fixed Nazi legs so they could walk around being angry!" - get him to the greek.
As a former pharmacy technician, part of our schooling is learning to read scribble
Some of my favorite times in the pharmacy were passing scripts around to get a consensus on what they said - it was like a game. I'm still so proud of the time I was the only one who could read that they had put "klonopin wafers" 😅
@False Flag 😡😡😡
@@indumathi6501 dead serious. We are given several pictures of hand written prescriptions and are told to translate.
@False Flag Go at med school for a few years then we'll talk.
@False Flag Dr write gazillion exams throughout their 10yrs+ course due to which they get used to writing super fast which often leads to handwriting mess up. Also, you can't take your sweet time prescribing your 1 patient when 30 more are waiting outside. This too causes misspelling & not super legible handwriting. But nowadays many places are adopting printing prescriptions, that'll help ig but will take more time for sure
Doctors' handwriting is a serious threat to public safety. Thank goodness for pharmacists' mutant vision. They are heroes.
LMAO
Thank you!
I'll I'll vouch for that 😂😅
Lol both my parents r doctors so now from the youngest age I literally get told all the time that my writing is so messy 😂
Any Arabic guy writing
The pharmacist: why would you invade Cuba?
MANANSJAKSHALF
as an arab, can confirm, everyone’s writing is unreliable no matter what
@@kingexplosionmurderer8017 i cant read my own writing lol
@@ahmedmagdi7265 same lmao like 4 minutes after i write something it just becomes scribbles 🧍♀️
@@kingexplosionmurderer8017 or if u can read it. It will be completely different words a d letters
As a daughter from a nurse I still am Impressed how my mom can figure out the handwriting of a doctor. Of ANY Doctor .
Word; as child of a nurse who can't read her own scribble, I fear for patients. 😬😬😬
Lol the pharmacists should be respected more because they know a lot lot of stuff
the fact that the pharmacists are doctors too😂
um they're not.
@@heaven_bound_94xoDr can refer to anyone with a PHD so pharmacists are also docters, they just don't deal with patients most of the time compared to others
My mom’s a doctor, and hers is so squiggly and curly, more cursive but it’s hard to read, so I can see if my mom was a pharmacist and having that handwriting. Ngl hers would be a straight line.
The pharmacists are trained in hieroglyphics
My wife is a pharmacist and I swear she can still figure out the wording when nothing is written.
I can actually read the doctor's prescription.. the pharmacist looks at me like "are you pursuing medicine ?" . " No, just been in the hospital too many times ..."
same here.....same. chronically ill & it sucks.
hahahahaha, my dad wanted me to be a doctor, unfortunately I am an aviation geek and ended up working in aviation, but one thing I have for sure is a doctor's handwriting !!!
I once asked my mom why she wrote in scribbles when she was giving me my like school notes and stuff for doctors stuff or signing field trip notices and she said it was how adults wrote.
It’s not “handwriting”, it’s a different script entirely called shorthand. Most doctors learn it in school I imagine to take notes faster.
No.. the shorthand is actually much easier to understand than the "handwriting" trust me
Pharmacist here, this is so true lol
Thank you so much Dana for praising the Pharmacist's work.
Indian Pharmacist 😀
I love how some people says "it helps to save time".. yeah, take 35 seconds on a prescription vs 60 makes a huge difference (specially when the prescription is written while docs talk to you)
I think is just something cultural "always has been done in this way"
I am a pharmacist...
Thanks doc for mentioning us in your video..😋
*My handwriting is far too neat for me to be a doctor.*
when you are confused still beautiful.
Yeah,
I've always wondered what's up with handwriting of docs. Maybe they've written so much they grow way too frustrated of it?
My dad (a doctor) always tells my brother (a medical student) : the only thing you've gotten from a doctor is your handwriting
The fact she's my age .. I have done nothing puts my life into perspective
As a new tech, you pick up on the scribble eventually... but when in doubt we pass those things around until someone can read it
Worst case scenario we call the doctor as ask them wtf is going on
Thought they called paracetamol, acetaminophen in the US
As the daughter of 2 pharmacists, I can confirm that this is 100% true 😃💔 Like I can't read my parents handwriting it's so hard...
SASHAAAA
@@everk1ng ANOTHER SASHA ❤❤❤
They are actually trained to read signitures like that to prevent forgery of people trying to get something they don’t need
That’s...not true at all. Some doctors have really nice handwriting and I’m super impressed by them. Usually prescriptions are typed and then signed or printed on paper with watermarks. It’s like the longer you’re in school the worse your handwriting becomes. 🤣
@@jessicasharpe1925 👍
So my family has so many doctors and so many different prescription signatures, but I got to tell you, my aunt's is by far the best because of how simple it is😂
Thanks Dr.Dana making a video relating to pharmacists. :)
As a pharm tech I can confirm this 😂 😂 😂 😂
i even recognize the doctor from the handwriting alone. even before i see their signarure. its magic... haha jk its just yeara of practice
i believe Dr's handwriting is so bad on prescriptions is because they are hiding the fact that they can't spell what they are prescribing. And who can blame them.
I've had this so many times on hand written prescriptions! Had to go to multiple pharmacys before someone accepted what it said 😀
I believe she’s pairing the indications for the patient as well
In our country, pharmacists can report a physician who wrote an illegible prescription. Multiple offenses can be grounds for loss of license.
Really how this happens, my mom is a doctor and I can't read her writing. But the pharmacists does!
Best acting and cutest actor
As a med student I vehemently disa-
I agree. . . . . . . I’m ashamed
What about those doctors that send in meds without directions or how much.
Metformin 509
Use as a directed
Me: ummm...but how many times a day and for how long?
Dr. : yes.
I have received hundreds of calls from pharmacies looking to "clarify directions"
They were being nice. There were no directions.
That's when the pharmacist has to call for clarification in order to comply with the law.
@@jdstearman yes. I realize this. I’m a pharmacy tech and have called many times on behalf of my pharmacist. 9/10 times staffing is very nice. Once received a prescription that was written and signed by a certified medical assistant. No supervising doctor on rx and signed cmp. My pharmacist was scratching his head. And it occurred to me, that a class mate of mine was a medical assistant. That was when I realized it wasn’t written by a doctor.
I’ve only experienced that one time in the last 3 years.
I haven't received much written script from where i work nowadays..
You are soo cute. That face when react is priceless. 😊
Dangerous leaves room for medication errors
We have cheat notes in pharmacies.
I can't forget this name, cuz it was the only medication that keep my body temperature low when I was in hospital for covid 19, 😢
im an MD too, what is scary about this is that it seems legible initially, till I look away, and then when I look back, I realize I have no idea what I just wrote, but I pass it on anyway.
Later some region in my country banned writing in small later (for doctors only).
Facial expressions are on point
this is why pharmacists make so much money
_But they'll think I'm trying to top myself..._
My grandma writes in shorthand sometimes and it kinda looks like this
Sometimes I don't understand what I have written but they easily decipher it 😅 hat's of to pharmcist 👍
Is this hangman but with doctors playing the game?
Is it not all digital now? Cuz I haven’t seen a prescription slip in years lol
For now. I believe new legislation was just passed (not sure if this is federal or state) that will require all RX's to be electronic by 2023 with exceptions (vet's offices for example). A lot of pain clinics, certain hospital depts, and psych docs still use Rx pads. It's such a pain in the ass with paper copies and makes tracking controlled substances so much harder than if you were to have an electronic record.
when some doctors write a prescription it looks like an enigma code😉😋
In this part of the world the pharmacist plays a guessing game where they look at what clinic it is, tries guessing the diagnosis, uses the 2 letters they understood and maybe ask the patient if they know how the pills looked and they hit it accurately
Yeah I have no idea when any of my meds expire
Normal Pharmacist: YOU ARE NOT A PHARMACIST !
Pharmacist (Phonk maker): oh well🌝
Its a good thing im a vet assistant/pharmacist.
This is super dangerous though, like Rohin Francis said in a video, you can't go around scribbling a prescription for a pharmacist to misinterpret at 2:00 AM on a 24 hour call. I have no idea how someone can scribble this much. Just,,, type them
It looked like a cool signature in Latin.
There is one time i sketch an ECG rhythm then show it to the doctor.. He ask me why i write "medazolam"
I TRULY AFMIRE the pharmacists ability to read those Doctors’ prescriptions…!! MUCHO KUDOS for that accuracy…!! 🤣🤣😁👍🏼🩴👣
Pharm tech and I can confirm
I hate it when doctors prescribed motrin or Tylenol or anything otc
Its so dangerous to not write neatly, why is this not encouraged or being followed. Like you would think they would try a little 🤔
Haha. Pharmacist here, this is so relatable 🤣🤣
Seems like if someone got ahold of the pad and wrote out a bunch of scripts and just scribbled something like the docs name you’d get your script filled
Pretty good I can see the p, r, and l so makes sense
If I can read a doctor's handwriting to easily, I immediately doubt his/her qualifications.
Shorthand is a thing you know...
As a pharmacy tech I can confirm this 😂
prob said percocet. why would someone write a prescription for tylenol.....unless it was #3. but in this sick world, someone who should have percocet would end up being given tylenol instead. ridiculous.
As a Pharmacy Technican in Germany, this is so ducking anoying! I got the feeling docters can not write shit, and a Pharmatict the oppside.
Sorry for my bad english
I would be a good doc just for the handwriting part mine is chicken scratch I cant even read my own handwriting lol
NO WONDER WHY THERES SO MANY MISTAKES SMH
Doctors has most stable hands to write most unstable writing
So, the good Doctor is taking the mirror to the mall.
As a former nurse... I would call and verify every....thing. It did help a couple doctors with their chicken scratch 🤣
Super secret code so none of y'all can forge prescriptions xD
blame the damn doctors
If only 😂😂😂, they still call the office for the same clarification everyday, Loratadine lmao .
So hum... Where I consult, and it's a lot of places (I'm Autistic), they type it, print it and sign it so that there are no such issues...
My future job is to be a pharmacist :D
Can't believe doctors are still handwriting scripts. Have they not heard of a computer and printer? My doctor would have to be the most old-school doctor you could find (but the kind you'd want to go to), but even he 'writes' his scripts using a computer and printer.
We read those for a living and correct prescriptions.. lol
Love you OCEAN blue eyes.
Why write a prescription for Tylenol?
Oh I thought it was an autograph
I was going to ask you about it .why the doctors write prescriptions like this??!!??
My mom is a pharmacist
There is a substantial number of people dying every year because of the wrong medication or dosage. Thx doc 👍😑
Don't they get printed out or typed now?
Imagine having a perception for paracetamol 😭😭
Haha its funny until you remember a lot of people die due to doctors not being able to write legibly.
If you don't write that RX well, I will send them back to you
when i was young i used to see this a lot im like what is that? how could people read that
So my dr actually doesn't have the stereotypical bad hand writing scribble I see most people posting. That or I just got really used to reading bad hand writing.
You prescribe tylenol, it's over the counter
Gawd damn she’s good lookin :) where we’re you when I snapped my ankle in 2 parts 😍
