    I tend to see accountants online (especially on Reddit) talk about their cozy work from home jobs in which they work 10-20 hours a week for a lot of the time, except for the busy weeks.
    It sounds too good to be true and honestly makes me intrigued in accounting. Even if I have to work 30-35 hours, it’s no issue as long as I can do it from home.

      I definitely think that’s too good to be true idk many if any accountants who work 10-20 hours per week

      I've heard 60+ per week for months at a time then ~40 for the rest of the year.

    Thank you brother, interesting points raised, allowed me to think whether to still pursue accounting. May well do in the future but for now going to go through other monetary avenues. Keep it up, interesting to hear what you've learnt from your experience thus far.👍

    Correct, you basically have to get a masters. Another way to look at it, is because it takes so long to get qualified. Accounting is a regulated profession which protects job security and salary potential.

      Wa alaykum as salam so depending on the qualifications the person has they can either take a graduate route, apprenticeship, or with no qualifications. There are three videos on these routes on my channel which should help. If you have any questions still I'd recommend sending me a message on Instagram.

      I can sum it up for you CIMA is more for business decision making, financial controllers and retail companies like Tescos costa etc.. that look at budgeting and financial forecasts etc. Acca is more for technical accountants that understand the Intricacies of financial statements, journals, GL and can set up their own financial statements.
      Both are good but valuable depending on the industry you work in.

    Salaams I’m abit confused from what you said at 0:58 .
    Why does it take an extra 3-4 years after you graduate to become a qualified accountant, I thought you’re qualified when you graduate ?

    • @FehzanMehdi
      @FehzanMehdi  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Wa alaykum as salam to become a chartered accountant you need around 3 years of relevant work experience which you don’t gain at university and you need to pass exams on top too, if you’ve studied a relevant degree you may get be entitled to some exemptions from the exams.

    • @SilverbackA
      @SilverbackA Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@FehzanMehdiah right , but are you not still a qualified accountant when you finish university?
      I thought you’re still classed as a qualified accountant when you graduate and then a qualified chartered accountant when you pass the other exams after uni ?

    • @FehzanMehdi
      @FehzanMehdi  Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@SilverbackA No you're not. Any person can call themself an accountant, by doing a degree it doesn't make you "qualified". What you may think of as qualified may be different to the next person's understanding. The qualifications which differentiate you as a chartered / chartered certified / chartered management etc. accountant are the ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ICAS etc.
