I can tell you right now that that part of NYC, the location is phenomenal and commands a pretty penny as a result (right next to the main business district where much of the city works). The views, not so much.
Maybe rich american people are so intrigued by marble because usually houses in USA can be put down with a single hammer. That or they simply have no clue what good taste is 😂

No wonder the elite is always on the move, poor people tend to buy a home with 3-5 main room with actually different settings, while rich people buy 3-5 uni style mansions so they have to take their heli/jet to feel something different.... and generally it looks cold as fuck, I don't care how rich you are that place is never going to be a perfect 22 degree, with the floor, counter, table, chair, not feeling ice cold when you initially sit on it, no wonder they need 100 different endangered furs to cover their designer chairs.

Steamrooms are a lot colder than saunas and the steam is automated and constant. The room is heated by the steam, while in sauna it is mainly heated by the "stove" and the rocks on it. Good on Pewds, they are totally not the same and Ken is lucky Pewds is from Sweden and not Finland. :D

That said, if someone gave you a $39M house, your best bet would be to price it to sell and then go buy a much nicer home in anywhere that isn't the core of a major city for maybe a few million, then invest the rest and retire rich AF as your investments passively earn you >$1M annually.
That said, since the USA is a shithole, the gifter would have to pay like $15M~ in taxes to give you the $39M property.

The "Non-see through stuff" on scaffolding is a weather-barrier, it's designed for the workers on the scaffolding to be able to work even if it rains a bit or is hard winds, has nothing to do with aesthetics
In places where it doesn't rain a lot and doesn't have hard winds they just need a barrier in case someone trips or drops something, which is a black/white see-through fabric that's draped over the entire thing

One of my cousins in Italy lives in this massive family house in the countryside where we all gathered for holidays and there's one fireplace that is accessible from the kitchen and dining area as well as from the living room on the other side of the wall. Even the passageway between the two rooms has access to the fireplace. Blew my mind the first time I saw it and it was a wood-burning one too where we roasted snacks without having to go outside!
