    I just want Deep Breath to work like Ultimate Penitence. Fly into the air, and nuke the target location. No weird movement, no jank.

    Love the work Mr. Preheat. Thank you for the awesome deep dive. It makes me feel like i know what im talking about when i check my notes and see a lot of the same points!!
    I was wondering if we might see a scenario where we hoard or fish for essence bursts in order to only ever mass disintegrate while benefitting from titanic wrath, and also how this might change the clipping extending game as you will likely want to full channel the mass disintegrate!
    Thanks for the video, my head is spinning, both in fantasy and seemingly so far with actual abilities i think Evoker is cooking so far for TWW!!!

    I think they should make also Deep Breath/ Breath of Eons marks targets with Destruction for Bombardments . In the Dev side when we are in a M+ with a aoe pull we don’t use Desintegrate till we have only a few adds left so we gonna kill almost the entire pack without the damage of Bombardments . And it will fell bad to need to press Desintegrate on Aoe to get the procs and then use Pyres . Maybe I’m wrong and that’s enough

    • @Preheat

      This won't be an issue, due to how strong Mass Disintegrate will be. Every empower will be followed up by one in AOE.

    Insane deep dive. Priority/Funnel damage and a bit of defensiveness is exactly what devoker needs for M+. Casting deep breath every minute seems a bit risky though, even with some added manuvernability. On aug it's more forgiving due to cheat death but stupid breaths still happen. I think we should be immune to any stuff on the ground while in deep breath, we are literally flying over it.

  • @toyotadiesel4970
    @toyotadiesel4970 Před 4 měsíci +1

    Well, I'm not sure this is the salvation we need, and I'm not excited much. I mean, all this is essentially "more numbers" or "use the same abilities more often". This was not the core issue of devastation gameplay, numbers can and will be tuned, so it may end up you're still below average on meters even with all the mass disintegrate, super-charged pyres, bombardments, and all the other procs. For me, the biggest issue was the gameplay itself, 25yd range is the issue. Turret nature of casting on top of that. I was expecting something to compensate for the half-ranged thing, and we only got more "numbers" and procs. I was expecting something like "you can now cast disintegrate on the move, and empowered spells on the move while Hover is active", THAT would change things. Or increase range to 35yd. Deep breath is still going to require you to reposition yourself into melee range to deliver that damage, away from ranged group, and that's the most annoying thing. Usually you're trying to use the shortest deep breath distance possible, there is no need to "steer" it. You want deep breath to end as soon as possible, so you can resume your normal rotation.

  • @dionysiosbbbb

    I wish they would address the Essence Bursts we waste. Too often I sit at max Essenses with 2 stacks of Essence Burst. Also would be nice to be able to cast spells while we fly with Deep Breath. Kinda like we already do with hover. Deep Breath should also proc Mass Disintegrate.

    - More flying breathing dragons and more powerfull ? Count me in
    - Pulling every pack with an instant 5 men living flamme ? Damn that looks cool and powerfull

    Bombs might be tagged as a black spell. It says it does Volcanic damage (Fire + Nature... I think) and all Volcanic abilities are marked as Black. Either way, even if the bombs are black, we would still only have 2 black abilities to benefit from. We'll see...

    I love the idea of mass Disintegrate, I hope it will be as we think and hit 3 targets for full damage (Or main target for full damage and 2 other targets at %50, lets be honest Blizz wont let us be THAT strong) and that if we single target with it after an empower spell its a solid +%50 boost. I dont think they will take away the reticle for deep breath as we have to start with a destination on where it is supposed to go. If they remove that aspect it could easily become "Fly up and deep breath in place" which will easily be exploited. Bombardment I want to see how it will work, what the proc is etc. Would be even cooler if instead of being hit by random thing, it calls down Pyers at the targets (Which could play on the talent allowing Pyre to bounce.) Honestly, Love the tree BUT I need to see how it plays and is implimented.

    My current concerns of this talent tree are Might of the Black Dragonflight is a boring passive which only works on Deep Breath for Dev, Onslaught is basically a dead passive in any raid encounter and Unrelenting Siege takes too long to cap out and if it resets on leaving combat will feel extreemly bad.

    Isn't volcanic black and red combined? I was testing it out in Torgast taking the black spell increase ( edit: forgot to say and again with just the red spell increases and saw its dmg went up still ) and saw that blistering scales dmg kept getting higher (without taking the talent that increased its dmg from the tree that is) if so that would increase bombards dmg and the dmg from the dot from deep breath.

      Volcanic is nature and fire damage (hybrid spell school), nothing to do with color categorisation

    • @tonic9539
      @tonic9539 Před 4 měsíci

      @@alihorda yes i know its fire and nature. except evoker spells have duel classifications. colour and dmg school. black dmg spells are volcanic (fire/nature) blue spellfrost (frost/arcane) bronze is supposed to combine arcane and nature but we only have breath of eons that does arcane dmg. evokers are supposed to combine the dmg from the different flights so i always thought (based on how bliz explained how they worked ) that if a spell that was unique to evoker did combined dmg it would combine the colour from the flights hence why i asked if that was the case if it counted as both black and red. such as fire breath its red spell that does plain fire dmg but if an aug does ebon might 1st it makes the party do volcanic dmg. you get me?

  • @TheLeivah
    @TheLeivah Před 4 měsíci

    Deep Breath QoL changes and usability in all scenarios is always good.
    Living Flame talents are very lackluster and impractical. You never get out of combat mid boss encounter or in arena. Would be leaps and bounds better if you were allowed another stack of Burnout and gained a charge every 30-40s or so.
    Black Spells talent looks extremely bland but I wonder if it applies to all the "Volcanic" damage spells in the rest of the tree.
    Lack of Pyre attention is concerning. Disintegrate is already higher damage in lower target counts, with Mass D you will rarely if ever use Pyre, especially if all the Disintegrates proc Scintillation.
    I wish Dev got something that distinguished it from Pres or Aug. Extra Hover for mobility? Another charge of Deep Breath instead of a shorter CD via talents? Obsidian Shards from the Aberrus tier set via Pyre or similar? The Red spells don't do enough and the left side of the specialization is dead in the water.
    PS: Flying Serpent Kick from WW used to have a PvP talent that made it so you could turn mid cast by pressing it again. I'm quite sure it will work in a similar way, with the extra flying animations before you start doing damage.
    As always, good video, hope you are able to bring some of these issues to the developers.

    • @Preheat

      The proc is based on disintegrate dealing damage, not the cast. This means they would have to go out of their way to kill the interaction. Seems unlikely, but anything is possible.

  • @Telam
    @Telam Před 4 měsíci +2

    Personally, I'm fealing uneasy about this tree. Yea, I was excited when I saw first talent, but further I read, it got worse. Ok, defensinve parts are fine, small boost to defensive power, nothing to write home about, but apprecieated. But going from there are there are issues for me:
    1. Mass disintrigrate loop idea: my guess it will have limited interaction with regular talents on additional beams, or none at all. All becouse of scillation. As the empower spells is trigger from mass diss, it should mean that additional eternity surges we are getting from disintigrate would trigger mass disintrigrate too. Not only it leads to even more emphasis on snapping, but it's also way to OP, even in single target, which goes bananas in 3 targets. And on top with all other things you mentioned, like cooldown reduction, charged blast stacks etc.
    2. Cooldown alligment: If numbers are good, we will be locked into onyx legacy. With additional cooldown reduction on bombarment, we are getting this weird, sub 1 min cooldown window which will have next usage available in random moment as well, for each of those you would like to have your empowered spells to be off cooldown as well so you would have all profits from using deepbreath. That's true for dragonsrage as well, so it potentially casuses very weird cooldown holding situations.
    3. Bombardment has to have internat cooldown proc. Ain't no way it doesn't, otherwise it would scale crazy with a number of players in your group. Let's imagine for a moment it has good damage in m+ situation, where we have 5 people to trigger it's effect, we are getting some reasonable cooldown reduction and extension/essence burst number. Now we are leaving a key and we are going into raid, where we have 20 people to trigger it. Or, in heroic and lower, even more than that possibly. That has to be gated. Worst case scenario, it will be as mentioned helm enchant, which is nothing to be excited about.
    4. Playing around deepbreath. Let's assume we're in the council fight first, so it would be best raid usage for it. If bosses have to be apart for whatever reason, we are screwed, there is little change to use tag them all, and even if so, we continue with single target from there. Only benefit would be a bombardment procs, but in probably locks us into long flights, which we want to keep to minimum anyway. Now, in single target: assuming we are getting something like 10 seconds cooldown reduction, every 50 seconds(I'm assuming talenting onyx legacy talented) we want to be in melee, otherwise there it's again long flight scenerio, which is losing as uptime and poses a risk of dying to random abilities going off. All of this heavlyi ncentives us to play in melee, but we are suposed to be a ranged class! Fights like a Nymue with this talent tree seems like nightmare to me, which is already pretty bad for Dev anyway.
    Best usage so far deepbreath is in M+ situation. Here we are usually fighting a lot closer to targets, most abilities like frontals are usually aimed at tank or are single targets effects hitting one player in group, so in general it's safer to fly around. What uncertaint is how marked targets for bombardment are chosen: if it's first target hit, well, that sucks. There is good change it will land on some paper mob, which will die 2 seconds from being marked. If it target's for example by highest total HP of enemy, cool.
    Sorry for wall of text, I just couldn't stop myself. For all reasons above I find this hero talent very head scratching, and heavily impacting on how we play the spec in terms of positioning and cooldown usage, while hero talents were supposed to give only extra umph to current gameplay. I can't help to compare it to frostfire mage, where you getting a proc here and there, something becomes and AoE from to time, but it's very clear how it works and only considaration in tree are actual numbers, not mechanics.

    Either that, or Might of the Black Dragonflight is missing a devastation component.
    Because, just Deep Breath feels a little silly. Aug is Black and Bronze, right? Where Dev is Blue and Red.

    Dracthyr should have been given a melee spec. Casters have the least mobility of all the classes. Constantly standing still for spells. That's the main reason I never seriously play a mage. Arcane is about the only spec not hindered by casting, but even that spec is situational.

    • @cronosdimitri4584
      @cronosdimitri4584 Před 3 měsíci

      People like casters. Playing around casting is part of the deal of being ranged unless you are BM hunter but then you need to deal with clunky ass pet. And even with mobility BM is not tanky and tends to die way sooner than good warlock or a good mage in a fight. Also, Evoker has absolute insane mobility for a caster. Evoker's issue is threat and range.

    • @iDrealFrehk
      @iDrealFrehk Před 3 měsíci

      Thats why they were never given a melee spec. You can't be serious though. Hover, even with extended flight, has a 25 sec CD. 2 of them doesn't make it unlimited.@@cronosdimitri4584 Maybe you'll get 3, but that CD will eventually leave you standing still. Don't forget the 2 major spells, Fire Breath and Eternity Surge, which also have you standing still for a timed cast with limited range. Hover doesn't remove it. Tip the scales has a 2 minute cooldown. Don't bother defending them. You wont change my mind. Dracthyr are still limited by standing for spells.

      @@cronosdimitri4584 I have been here since day one and this is not how they do it. They are not really sorting the main tree out, just adding a new tree and making us pay 75quid for it. The current trees are not working and when your "choice" currently is mandatory 60%+ of the tree to get said spec to work. There is at least 8 talents that can come out of the evoker devo tree that is mandatory and can add other talents rather then trying to sell us on this
