- We've got the best of Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s #3 Nationwide team radio chatter from Saturday’s iRacing #INDYCARChallenge race held at the virtual Michigan International Speedway with crew chief (and color commentator) Steven Steffen. Dale Jr. took home a third-place finish in his IndyCar debut.

That's some balls you got there telling Indy drivers they should know their fuel. That was pretty funny actually.
😂
He shoulda made a quick call to Danica about the fuel thing.
dj ZIGG Balls? This is Junebug 🤣😂🤣
He ain't wrong lol
He definitely did that by mistake haha.
Thats awesome that 2 non Indy Car guys finished in the top 3, Scott Mclaughlan races V8 Supercars for Penske in Australia
Did the NASCAR driver "accidentally" throw shade to the indy drivers? You're damn right.
you’re. 😅
Did the NASCAR fan not understand the difference between your and you're? You're damn right.
Those IndyCar drivers are a bunch of babies.
John S Okay... Haha... that’s why NASCAR drivers are afraid to drive them in real life...
Spyke0511 1 Which drivers are scared?
Dale jr. After not saying anything bad: "What'd I say? Anything bad?"
Kyle Larson: "Hold my beer"
I hope the fuel milage comment did go to everyone. Lots of those guys had their normal strategist. They should have pitted when Junior did. The race control even told them they could and held the caution out longer for them to come in and they didn't.
yeah, it shows that @DRIVERS when dale is talking, so...
Going by practice, it was amazing that there wasn't another caution. They all stayed out in those early laps to stay ahead of the wrecks. Didn't work, that's racing WillyP!
I was switching between a couple drivers, it sounds like the fuel numbers they were getting was different than what a lot were calculating for
Just dont get to relaxed and say the n word.
Everyone was anticipating way more yellows. I don't think anyone could have predicted it would go green the entire rest of the way. Just one or two cautions and everyone is on a one-stop strategy.
Great race P3 in first attempt. Thanks for posting. LOTS of fun to watch and hear the strategy. Best part is it worked perfectly. 0.0 gallons at the checkered flag.
Just like Rossi in the 100th.
Craig Winter Yeah that was one of the ballsiest strategies I’ve seen in Indy racing considering the weight of the race. Very appropriate to have that kind of finish though, especially considering the number of times leaders have lost it at the end
Patience and clean driving right there.
That was awesome. I seriously think it would be a great idea for junior to do weekly iRacing live stream even after NASCAR and all racing open back up. I would love to see that and I think other Dale jr. Fans would to as well.
7:46 Not bad?!... I thought that was pretty good! Third place for debut is great
"What'd I say? Anything bad?"
L. O. L
At least it wasn't a racial slur lol
I do appreciate a good fuel mileage race every once in awhile

That most recent one I could think of...
I love it! More please. I am a new rookie to all track types and I hope to climb that ladder and say I got to race with my favorite race car drivers!!! Thank you for sharing!
I didn’t know what to think about this type thing. Prolly wouldn’t have watched if Dale Jr hadn’t been racing. You know, pretty enjoyable for what it was. Hope Dale does it again. Pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Thanks for giving us a little break from everything.
That’s hilarious “did I say anything bad?” 🤣
Love this. JR is such a wholesome guy.
Awesome finish for Dale Jr and Nationwide.
Incredible Junior 👌 Happy Easter 🏁🐣
Nice. 3rd place for a debut, id say thats pretty strong. I like the indy cars. Never watched enough of it to get into it, but they are some wicked fast machines.
They're pretty much F1 cars with less downforce and no hybrid, so things can get pretty hairy on the road courses and street circuits. They rely more on ground effect than the vortex generation you see in F1, so dirty air isn't nearly as big of a problem.
Great job Dale! Doing the Earnhardt name proud.
Will Power complaining when things don’t go his way, as per usual
How many teammates did Power hit?
Yeah I don't get that, he's pissed that racecontrol didn't throw a BS caution for nothing?
problem is that they did throw a competition yellow last week, and there was supposed to be one during the race but i think with the start they were going to run out of tv time
He sounded like Kyle busch lol
Wait thats his real name? Cool!
This was awesome!! Loved his comment at the end 😂
Cool view...from spotter side.. I was wondering what it looked like for this. Thanks for sharing..ya'll be safe and have a great day.
Great video always enjoy watching your video
Poor ol' Steven was m.ore stressed than Jr 😁
This IndyCar fan is now a big Junior fan. Come run for real Dale.
Good job jr that's an awesome first race in an Indy car
Happy Easter Dale
Podium finish in his debut? This guy might end up being pretty good...
Better at Indy than Danica was in NASCAR lol.
Man ......Dale that is awesome stuff!!! Great spotter / crew chief too ...lol you're making me get iracing now... I normally run GT Sport
I love watching this
AWESOME JOB!!!
god i love you jr. way to tell there at the end lmao
The gap between Indy Car and NASCAR has taken a bridge-level leap with this. Believe it or not. Thank you, DEJ and everyone involved. Stay Happy & Healthy!
Matthew Todd uhh slow down there, hoss. 3 drivers picked the right fuel strategy and Dale was 3rd fastest of them. Also this is a video game.
@@michaeln3527 Sure. But that's not the point.
Matthew Todd then what is?
Matthew Todd Check out the NASCAR CZcams channel, they had a race at “Monza” last night... and Indycar driver Colton Herta beat every single Cup driver, including Kurt Busch, Corey LaJoie, Denny Hamlin, Matt DiBenedetto, and the recently deceased Kyle Larson.
Does that mean the gap between Indycar and NASCAR has taken a bridge-level leap in the other direction? Does it mean Colton can hop in a real Cup car on a real track and spank everybody? Nope. Nope nope nope. It means he did good at a video game.
You are still missing the point. This has nothing to do with results or whose better on any given day. It has everything to do with the fact NASCAR Fans are watching a virtual Indy Car race. And some of those Fans will like what they see enough to watch a real Indy Car race for the first time or with consistency. The same goes for Indy Car Fans watching a NASCAR race the same way. People are watching these iRaces and enjoying the possibilities they provide. When cup drivers run indy and indy drivers run nascar, it opens the idea for fans to go enjoy both in person and on a television. The mixing of talent is quite powerful. Yes, it is a game on a computer. But it has both positive and negative real life consequences; one of which is drawing new fans to the real deal. Hang around, you just might learn a little something! Again, the gap has been bridged a little bit. Fan crossover is a great way to help both sports. Look at their upcoming schedules. Look at JJ48's post retirement plans. Crossover is cool. Got it?
Very impressive!!!!!!!!!!!!
nice work guys.......!!!!!
This kid JR has a bright future ahead of him..
Way to go Dale.
I like Steffen's spotting... very relaxing
Loved it
Nascar driver 3d, Supercar driver 2d, tintop drivers showing up indycar drivers. How can that not be funny😎😎😎
@PJ Almighty Scott has also just won his first irace in supercars a few days ago and will see out his contract at supercars this year, dont blame him, he's getting a bit of strict cos he's a bloody driver, no likes a good driver that wins to many. Shame that. I'm hardcore Holden he's ford but hes a Kiwi and from my hometown in NZ.
Gary Janssen relax, it’s just a sim. Jesus...
@PJ Almighty He's pretty much retired from actual racing due to health issues stemming from his concussions. So I don't think he will risk that for an Indycar debut IRL.
Good race Earnhardt.
Would love to see Jr at Indy in July.
Great job Rizzo
Good job jr
Alright, good on you #3!!!
I love Jr man lmao
Great video liked 👍🏁🏆
Cool af wow great job jr
Get me Signed up Chief! Im willing to train everyday on IRacing etc Happy yall can keep racing during this virus etc, wish I could one day get a good setup and race an oval track.
congrats dale;-)
Congrats Jr 😊
JR the IndyCar 🐐
I hope you are in VR... so awesome
LMAO if you knew your fuel millage maybe you should of pitted lol, What I say, anything bad?? lol
*should have, no should of.
SieTeppischfresser *not should of, not no should of
@@SieTeppischfresser no should of? check what you type as well. Thanks.
@@rescobar7929 Escobar just take the L, bud. There's a difference between a typo from forgetting a letter and a typo from being a fucking dunce that doesn't understand basic contractions.
@@anonimoosea.9423 I won't deny I made a mistake but if someone is going to sit there and nit pick one incorrect word that someone wrote, then they should be accountable of what they write as well. I guess people today have nothing better to do. But if you or someone else have fun doing that then more power to you guys.
this is awesome. Where can I watch these live?
www.twitch.tv/directory/game/iRacing.com just scroll through and you may find some pro drivers channels of all types of racing (nascar, F1, Indycar, supercar, dirt track) I even recommend the non RL racers if your just looking for a race to watch through the driver's seat
What did I say!!! Haha cracked me up.
Nice run! Showin then Indy guys how to run a Michigan fuel mileage race! U deserved to do some doughnuts with that strategy nice work!
Well it would have been nice, but... he was out of fuel lol
Third place finish in an Indy Car is pretty damn good, simulation or not. Maybe Junior needs to consider driving the Indy 500 next year.
He has a history with concussions. I don't think he wants to run ovals at 220+ mph lol. Don't blame him.
Top Men with an open cockpit
@@vortex5333 exactly. Halo or not lol
I'm so proud of Dale Jr! Great job
I have always hated will power and this confirms it even more. What a **** that guy is. Awesome work Dale!
Dale is the best
If you ain't first, yer last.
How do you get the black box while your spotting?
Indycar drivers crying about not getting cautions during a video game is funny to me
Apex Predators right?!? Lmao.
Awesome racing junebug. Phenomenal work. Hilarious the fact an old NASCAR head showed up all them complaining pretty boys. Love the comment at the end. Remember you ain’t talking shade if what you’re saying is true!
Podium the debut! Hell yeah
I wonder if the cautions happen when star drivers call for them in IndyCar often .
Will Power was very quick to ask Iracing control for a yellow.
P.S. he should havw managed his fuel , he had a real race car engineer on his team .
Ah the simple, but brilliant rookie insight.
i'd love a diecast of that car
Can we get a radioactive for the Monza race 👀😂
It'd be pretty cool if you streamed live next time
Where can I watch these streams?
Is there a link to dales paint scheme on trading paints?
Will lol
Who ended up winning if June Bug was 3rd and Scott 2nd?
Simon Pagenaud
Pagenaud in the #22. He pitted one lap after Jr, so he also had the fuel to make it to the end.
so i'm sorry if this is a dumb question but who was the driver for dale?
I couldn't imagine you log in and see the name Dale Earnhardt Jr and it's actually him
That's my life on iracing. Giving my opinion on the competition thinking I'm talking to Discord. My teammates laughing because I said it on all teams. Me: did I say anything bad?
Happy Easter. 🐰🕊☮
Where do you stream the races
Just because I saw Marcus Ericsson at 0:37, "I think Ericsson hit us" applies at 0:20 lol
*sees a guy coming out of the pits the lap after Dale pits*
"i think we are the only ones that can make it on fuel"
uh, steven, ya good buddy? 😂
Give the guy a break...he called a heck of a race for not even knowing the fuel window when the race started. (1:24).
maybe he referred to the group of cars on that strategy (plus the other two that pitted with jr)
It's simple, you don't have a chance to win a race if you don't have fuel at the end. Dale Jr earned that 3rd place finish by working the pit cycles and saving his gas!
someone PLEASE tell me what twitch stream this is
Wow, he wasn’t kidding about Power asking for a caution on the DJD
Lmao, you tell’em Jr.!!
“What’d I say man? Anything bad?”
How fitting that Dale Jr. ended up finishing 3rd in the 3. This cannot be made up.
Oh Jr. So funny
Well done guys.
You should post the whole race.
just in case you meant the full race broadcast & not just JR's stream- czcams.com/video/fJpEwI_dlmw/video.html
Cool
Dale Jr. to IndyCar confirmed lmao :v :v
What track is this
❤❤❤❣🐰🐥🐣
Jr would of been a good indycar driver even before this got his dads competitive heart miss watching the Earnhardt's racing
Great race Jr. Should've used the quick fix in hindsight would've been P1 #1
Imagine if this crash happened with the new damage model seen on the F3 and Skip barber cars, or even in BeamNG.Drive.
I don't think RPM/Gear make a difference for fuel in iRacing I think it's only throttle position in this sim.
MotorCityOctane I’ve heard this but then I swear the lap count goes up faster when I coast in 6 instead of 5 I think it’s like side and wall drafting a fa there in spirit lmao
Yes it does make a difference
💪👍
How cool would it be if he actually considered doing the 500 just for the hell of it!!! That would be an American spirit right there!!!
“They might should have pitted...”
I need to go back to my English class.
Now you're just showin off 😂
Why is iRacing in 3d person???
