Good work there with the battery- the secret to keeping them working long term is cleaning and roughing the ground every couple of months. Make it a regular service item if you haven’t already, make sure it is a good effective ground.

Glad that you sailed off and on the hook. Good job you two! Feel proud! The next time that you buy a battery have them test it first. Also look for a circle on the end of it with the manufacturer date. If it is old don't buy it.
good advice. We have definitely been caught out before by old batteries for sale.
Probably time to redesign your DC electrical circuits so you can switch to your house bank when your starter battery dies.

Does the anchor windless have a separate battery? If so, couldn’t you use that start the engine?

Why not use the charger to start the engine?
you never cleaned .. sand-papered the existing connectors .... you never applied an alchohol cleaning agent to all connectors ... after starting a smear of grease to the battery terminals is all good practice
Or maybe they didn’t include every second of the process
