China has sent 200 vessels near a Philippines'-controlled reef in the disputed South China Sea. Manila has had a warship stationed in the region since 1999, staking claim on the reef. If you look at the map, you will see that the disputed region is beside the Philippines and very very far from China. The disputed region is rich in oil and natural resources which is why China wants to claim it even if it's very far from the mainland.

The Philippines have long been invaded by China may eons ago up to this day.
These Filipinos always support India irrespective of our wars. They genuinly like India with all our flaws. This is why my prayers are always with them and though I am not old enough to bless them, but still my blessings are with them.
I cannot understand how a great democracy like India, aligns itself with China and Russia in Brics. What has India to gain by teaming up with bullies?. A strong commitment to human rights and democracy is needed from India. This will bring more power to the countries that believe in international law.
