Bless you Francis. Spend as much time as you can with Dad. We went through this with both Mom and Dad...it meant a lot to be with them through life's last journey. ❤️
I lost my best friend to pancreatic cancer a couple of years ago. It's a terrible thing. Just spend as much time as you can with your dad, Francis. We'll all be here when you get back.
Francis, your news hit me pretty hard. I found cycling and your content over Covid, during which I lost both my parents. Your adventures brought me so much pleasure and comfort during a terribly difficult time. I wish there was some way I could do the same for you and your family. All I can do is send my love and support your father’s treatment center by purchasing some mugs.
I admit that I’m not a “diehard” cyclist, but this by far my favorite podcast. The banter between you three is always entertaining and makes me smile. Your friendship and genuine affection for each other really shines through.
As a long time viewer, we'll be here regardless. Afraid to say I've been there with my dad when I was a teen and now in my forties. Make memories and I'm sure fans will support the channel and charity.
Hello Francis, I've been watching your videos for a number of years; we don't know each other; I lost my father to Pancreatic Cancer back in 2016. If you or your family need someone to chat with about what another family went through in some sort of similar circumstances. Don't hesitate to reach out. All the best to you all; enjoy all the moments you have, and don't worry about work; it will be back. Make the most of the time you have.
That was a sad update for sure. Hope you get to create some more good memories with him. Having Jimmi and Emily on board is great - both in terms of content - but certainly also in this difficult situation. I think the guitar gift was a reflection of this :-)
Just zoom into the pod from London and have your dad as a guest on the Overrated/Underrated sections ;-). Enjoy your time together! And make the most of it!
I love this idea - if he's up for it. Could be expanded. Could have Papa Cade as a full on guest to tell the most embarrassing stories possible about Francis, etc. All sorts of fun things that could be done.
OMG I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad, Francis. I'm very very glad to hear that you have your support network lined up so that you can optimize your life around supporting your family. We'll (of course) definitely miss you over here, but I am sure I speak for the vast majority of us in saying that we wouldn't have it any other way. I don't know a ton about your childhood, but I think your Mom and Dad raised a pretty great person into the world, and deserve every bit of your energy that you can give them. I am sure that they both appreciate you being willing and able to shift your life focus in all this. Mrs. Cade - if you read this (I know you join the comments sometimes, but you might be a bit busy at the moment!) - thinking of you and your husband and wishing you the best. We all die, but we don't all truly live. From the snippets I've picked up watching videos here, you both seem like great people that have lived an adventurous life full of love and kindness. I hope that the extra time with Francis helps to smooth out some of the rougher, more difficult times, and I hope that your family gets through this with as much joy and love, and as little pain as possible.
Hello DC Dan, Yes I still make time to read every single comment!!😂 Thank you for your kind words. My Mum died of pancreatic cancer aged 71 just 3 weeks after diagnosis 💔 We feel fortunate that with treatment (although grim!) we will have a few more months together. Francis is of great comfort to us both. I hope you and your family are keeping well? Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year ❤️
So sorry to here about your dad Francis. My best mate is terminal and it's hard especially as he has a young family. Love the mug idea and what a great cause! Keep up the excellent work and stay strong.
Francis I hate to hear it, i wanted to share the following, July 2nd I lost my brother unexpectedly to suicide, and then december 14th I lost my dad from complications to COVID, he had leukemia, please please take time for yourself, for your father and your family(which it sounds like you are). this podcast has gotten me through tough times this year- I wish you and your family the best.Be gentle on yourself. Send your father love from your fans and tell him about all the good you've done. I truly wish you the best in the world, as well as your family. Love from Oklahoma, USA.
Enjoy your time with your dad during this period Francis, make more great memories. Ok Francis gives a Gibson SG as a pressie, where was the proper man hug from jimmy for such a great pressie!
My love and support to you and your family Francis. Like far too many of us can relate to, cancer took one of my parents, so I know the mental and emotional rollercoaster you’re on. Please be gentle and kind to yourself Francis - the Pod ain’t going anywhere so do what you need to do for you and your Dad and know you have our love and support for as long as you need it mate. Oh, and I’ll definitely be buying some of your Dad’s awesome merch - who wouldn’t want that smiley face!
Take all the time you need, Francis. These are the important things in life, all the rest are just distractions to keep things interesting. Hoping for the best for you and your family - we'll be here when you get back! All love ❤
Sorry to here about your dad mate. I hope you get to spend as much time as you can with him, go do what you need to all your friends and followers will be here for you. If there is anything you need help with please reach out.
Sorry to hear about your dad Francis, spend as much time as you can, we all have a short time on this earth and those we spend that time with. He's not gone yet, spend as much time as you can and have no regrets. All the best.
Francis, my prayers for your family. As a nurse, pain management is going to be key for your father. Not sure how that works in the UK, but it is important that your father receive proper care in the pain management category.
I also lost my father to cancer. I feel you. This year - I'm inclined to say mostly because of you - I bought myself a road bike and I'll begin to ride a real road bike again - it took only 30 years to come to this point. And now I do have a really nice bike with a 105 group set, this is what I always dreamt of.
🙏 sorry to hear about your dad😢🙏. As others have said, take all the time possible to spend with your dad. We’ll be here as an audience whenever you get back to full time 🤗
My prayers going out to you, Francis. I just lost a cycling friend to the same cancer. Grab all of the time you can with your Dad and your family. God Bless!
Sorry to hear the news Francis, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this trying time. Like Jimmy said nothing is more important than family so being with your dad is priority number one. Take care buddy ❤
So sorry to hear about your Dad Francis. I went through this with my Mum and you will never regret that time spent with your loved ones. As you say, it the most important thing. Everything else is secondary. 🥰
You're absolutely right Francis - who cares about work. Hope you get to make great memories with your dad and spend as much time with him as you want! When my dad got sick 5 years ago, I never went back to work. He's still with us fortunately, even if he's a shadow of his former self. But man I'm taking care of him and spending as much time with him and my mom as I can. I can always go back to work later.
I’m unable to be with my family at Christmas and Rapha 500 (in 6 days this year) keeps me out of the pub, makes me feel good about myself and sets me up well for the New Year. Each to their own Jimmy. 😊
Just spent Christmas and new year looking after my Mum who sadly passed from Liver Sclerosis and Live Cancer and on the 8th Jan and its the best and worst thing I have ever done. So do what you need to do Francis and spend all the time you need with your dad you wont regret it and I wish you all the best
This might be the most wholesome podcast you've done. Appreciate francis's candor, no one would begrudge you taking as much time as needed. Also I'm not sure how I feel about this but I seem to agree with Jimmy to a worrying degree these days :D
Great content as usual! Merry Christmas everyone. My daughter got me a Father’s Day cameo from George Hincapie a few years ago, I still play it from time to time.
Thoughts are with you Francis, focus on what is needed and what’s important! Jimmy has your back and we will be watching! We will patiently await your return! Bless you and your family, especially your father as he goes through this.
So sorry to hear about your father, Francis. We'll miss you on the show but totally understand and your priorities are in the right place. We'll be here when you get back. In the meantime our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Participated in a small gravel event this past summer where Lachlan Morton was also racing. I remember looking at the start list when signing up and thinking that it was pretty cool that we would be racing the same course. When i arrived at the venue i parked in the first open spot i could find. Moments later i discovered that i had parked right next to him as he walked around his van in my direction. I was quite surprised, and mentioned that i had thought it would be cool to see him at the event, to which he replied....absolutely nothing... no smile, no head nod, no good morning, or good luck. I understand everyone has a bad day sometimes but it just seemed odd given the personality he projects in media, (and with the spirit of gravel).
I lost my father to cancer 7 years ago. Sadly he hid this and I live overseas so I never got to spend real time with him before he passed. It's something I'll carry for the rest of my life. Spend time with family and something I reiterate to my whole team I work with. Family first, always.
My mom has pancreatic cancer currently and I sadly live thousands of miles away overseas. Hope for the best for us and our parents mate. If your dad's anything like my mom, he'll appreciate every time you're there with him and know that you are doing well. Stay strong
Great work guys, you are the only podcast (cycling or non-cycling) that I am able to listen to and finish every episode of. I hope you make much more episodes and will be looking forward to the travelling stuff.
Oh man, that's sad, but go spend time with your dad. I know that we will all be here when you come back and Jimmy and Emily will be brilliant in looking after everything you do here.
It is very nice to see so many people with good morals and best wishes. Family and loved ones are the most important thing in life, work can wait when it is possible to do so. Enjoy the precious time you have with your dad. And hopefully yourself and your surrounding support group can all lift each other up. Man to man, all the love and best wishes to you and your family ❤️
You will never regret taking the time to spend with your father right now nor will you regret your time away from work even when you seem to love what you do. You are making the right choice and I hope you get as much time as possible.
Not a big fan of the podcast, but a big fan of Francis and his work and how pivotal he was and is for the industry. All the best wishes for you, for your dad and your family, thinking about you know.
Thank you Francis , Jimmi , and Emily . Francis ...I am very sorry to hear about your Dad , I am a survivor , about to have tests for a new cancer . You know the deal , go , do , see shit now . Good luck , bud
Cherish the moments you have left with your parents. I often stare at a photo of my late mom and dad over the mantle and regret the conversations I never had.
Sad to hear the news about your dad Francis. Sounds like you have a the right plan going forward. For the rest of us, it's a reminder that life is too short, so live your best life every day you can folks.
Thank you guys for a great year of content! I love your energy and rapport, your friendship comes thru in the pods and I look forward to each new episode. I'm terribly sorry to hear about your Dad, Francis. Best wishes on your LA trip!
Sorry to hear that Francis, my dad had pancreatitis when I was a child which nearly killed him. Now we ride bikes together a lot and it means so much. Cherish the moments
Sorry to hear about your Father, lost my Mother to Cancer and it was very quick. You are doing the best thing in spending as much time as you can. Its hard on all, but remember, you will have memories of the good times.

Strength to you and the Cade family, Francis! The gift to Jimmi was really touching
