So many great memories of this game. My favorite being a character that had levelled up quite a bit but ended up dying to a doctor in town while trying to get rid of corruption. I should have been mad but it still makes me laugh when I think about that dice roll.
@writerguy911 I think I lost a 3rd level Nun to that same doctor. Fortunately, she was able to be resurrected after two more games. :)

I finally pulled the trigger and got both City of Ancients and Swamp's of Death revised core sets as well as Frontier Town expansion. Your videos are always a true help my friend. I hope you are doing well in life brother and know your content is missed.

Loving your videos. We last played SOB 4 years ago. Now I am getting back into it with my family and buying the Revised editions. This is one of the better dungeon crawlers out there for me.
This game is great fun when it's giving you ups and downs, but it can ne frustrating as hell if your dice consistently betray you. This encounter is kinda my nightmare scenario, because standing in one place and hoping the dice are in your favor (because at level 1, the odds definitely are not) is pretty much this game at its worst.
Great video, though, as always! It can only go up from here!

@Craig Artl You're welcome, and I'd do almost anything for a few dark stone. ;)
A pointer I got straight from the creators of the game - unless the monsters specifically say that they change targets (I think just Hellbats?) They will no move during their activation if they already have targeted you. So those zombies would not shuffle to make room for more zombies - they would keep their positions on the board and attack.

OMG I can see why this gets alot of game play with you and your friends 😂. This game looks freaking amazing. My God did that go bad fast for you 😅. I see why this game takes a group effort to set up and break down. Definitely to big of a game for me but I can see why you like it. I would love to find a game shop that plays this. It would be worth the hour drive one way just to play it. I can't wait to see your other play through videos on this one.
It's like a RPG without the dungeon master. And the mutations can be hilarious! :)

- Is those trays for the cards specific for cards or something you just adapt? Would like to try and find something like that without spending an entire new game with it :)
- The Depth Track is nice. Was it 3D printed?

@@DaletheCasualGamer Doubtless. Roll a d6 for each bandage. On a 6 get a refund. 1 to 5 he refuses and attacks you with a scalpel, causing d6 unblockable wounds

All the while you were building the mine I was rooting for it to grow over/under the startling tile. I shouldn’t be allowed in polite company tempting the multiverse like that. Your solution to the possible tile conflict was very Kobayashi Maru.
At our table if dice misbehaved like yours did they would be replaced with some with a better attitude. But also the monster tsunamis you’ve run into really slow the adventure down. I don’t mind getting surrounded. I do mind when an encounter starts that way and then never eases up.
Better luck next time. Maybe play the next round two handed? Sure it would be at the possible cost of your own sanity but I’m sure the fans are willing to risk it.
@JJE McManu lol Sounds like you've been infected with the dark stone and now wish treachery on me. And I have soo many dice, that I'm starting to think it's me ... I've been cursed. :)
Re-watched this episode. Good video. I love the fast pace. I wonder if this is still your 2nd favorite game? Do you still play it? Do you plan future playthroughs of the Shadows of Brimstone Adventures Gates of Valhalla and/or Valley of Serpent Kings?
I haven't played it in a while, but plan to play some of the new stuff that just delivered. Not my copy though, playing someone elses. :)
I'm just thinking the Indian needs a traveling companion... the lonely road won't be quite so lonely that way.... also if I am not mistaken he has an ability to redraw encounters... yet I haven't seen you use that ability once... maybe when something bad comes it's time to think about a re-draw..
@idjester the indian doesn't like showing off ... and they really haven't been too bad. I blame the dice for everything. ;)
Dale, I really like how you painted the heroes. Do you use any varnish on them? I’m asking because I’m planning to but I don’t know if that’s a good idea.
@Solo Board Gaming Knight I've only recently started using a matt varnish. Just make sure it's not cold outside, or else it might get a "snow" look.

I’m curious as to why you did not use the “Escape” roll. Standing there surrounded and getting pounded is not good. I would have tried to move out of there and put some distance between them and you and maybe tried to get into a corner to limit how many could surround you. Just some thoughts. You had an opening to escape and try that when you killed the first few. I enjoyed watching the game. Good work. :-)
Good advice! Depending on the speed of monsters, getting away isn't always an option (although getting in a corner would limit only 3 attacking if everyone is melee. And since movement is first, sometimes you clear a hole, that then gets filled in by another round of enemies. Thanks for watching, and word of advice ... never go in the tunnels alone. ;)

Not really, just which ever world draws you in more. With the "revised" editions of the original two sets, rules are up to date ... but the assassin in forbidden fortress are very powerful. :)

one character is very hard. I'd up to 2 with a ranged guy. Would make life a lot easier :)
