    I got the arrtx brand one and have had quite the pickle with the mold growth even with a bunch of suggestions, including adding honey! (which brought back the beautiful jelly texture to my set and has decreased the amount of mold significantly thankfully) since my palette portion inside warped from use, I also noticed taking it out has helped the seal significantly.

    You don't need to scrape the top off, it reconstitutes as well. I let mine dry out for over a year and they were completely dried throughout. I had to let them soak for around two hours and then spent another 4 hours adding more water and stirring them with a palette knife.

      does that mean the colour value wont change wont contaminate and we will still get fresh?

    • @TRANSSENTIENT
      @TRANSSENTIENT Před 10 měsíci

      @@lamiakamal1116 it depends on the amount of paint you have in the cup + the amount of contaminating paint.
      For example, if you only had a quarter of white left in a cup, along with bits of reds and yellows in it, the white color may shift a bit warm when you mix it. Or, if you had over half a cup of Lemon Yellow with some little bits of blue and green in it, you'll still have a virtually unchanged Lemon yellow after mixing.

    Greetings from Kuwait👸🏻🌹🇰🇼
    Kindly make a tutorial on how to choose the best paper & brushes for Water coloring & Gouache, I used Visual Journal 90lb watercolor with synthetic brushes but unfortunately the paper get wrinkly (( even though I was careful not to use much water!!

    • @JessChungArt
      @JessChungArt  Před 2 lety

      I prefer 300gsm paper for gouache, but 165gsm does also work. But like you said the paper is more likely to get wrinkly. As for brushes, I like round ones that come to a pointed tip. You can find the ones I use the most listed in the description :)

    1:55 I noticed that too! I'm pretty new to gouache and I don't know how to keep them moist the best way. But some of my colours (especially the red and green) dry out sooo fast! I have to wet them every day twice and they would still crack! :c do you have any tips? 💕

    • @atulkaul2970
      @atulkaul2970 Před 2 lety +1

      It's most likely just the pigment concentration. In my gouache set the black is always hydrated while teh green always dries out. I think to keep them nice and hydrated would be to mist and mix the paints before you start, or doing it on a weekly basis. Hope that helps!

    • @Brecheese999
      @Brecheese999 Před 2 lety +3

      Totally still revivable! That's the great thing about gouache; even if there's no moisture left at all it can still be revived. When I've done it, I've just let water sit on the paint overnight, then broke it up with a palette knife the next day. I add more water gradually after that as it all gets mixed together. Unless the top layer of your gouache is totally contaminated, there's no need to chuck it just because it's too dry; it just takes a little extra time.

    Does this method not dilute the gouache?

    • @Brecheese999
      @Brecheese999 Před 2 lety +1

      Nope! It's just replacing the water that has evaporated over time. If you add far too much water then yes, you can dilute it, but it's the same as if you add water to fresh gouache straight out of a new tub. I personally add a little water at a time when reviving the paint after I've made the dried chunks softer, to make sure I don't make it too thin.
