    Appreciate you showing how everything is hooked up. I wasn't sure if I needed a separate 5v power supply, or if the USB cable would give the 5v to all the buttons and the joystick.

    Would you know how to set up Mame games like Pac-Man and frogger to play 2 players using two different joysticks? I am able to play simultaneously Mame games like Mario bros but when I try and play 2 players in Pac-Man or frogger only I joystick seems to work for both player 1 and 2? Any ideas on how to get both joysticks working for play one and player 2? I bought the same encoders and joysticks.

    Hi guys first post on here so bare with me.....
    So built arcade cab running pi3 model B with dell 19 inch monitor and zippy sticks of ebay with zero delay usb controllers, Xcade B19c model as the cab and 18mm t moulding. So everything went together swell.....up in no time, I connected all the joysticks and buttons on a daisy for illumination and checked the functionality of the the sticks and buttons via usb as generic controllers on the laptop.... every thing went well on so fitted them into the control station.
    I download the terminator build of here at first and it dawned the VGA to HDMI leads i had were not good enough though i could hear everything couldn't get visual (pressed a free buttons on the arcade). so 5 days later go the adaptor which worked well, but joysticks were all over the place and no configuation could be done even with a keyboard?
    So I clean the image and tried again.....same issue joystick everywhere, so I decieded the image might not have the config file in..? i dont know so downloaded the back to the future one again which i knew had the set up on power up a s seen in the video.!!
    to my dismay and to my insane verge of smashing this cab up I call to you guys..... is there something ive done wrong or pressed when there was no visual that has stopped my joysticks working(which i have set back in laptop and still work perfectly)..... I have plugged a usb keyboard in it wont do anything than let me press F4 to go to command prompt but I have no idea when things get this dead.
    Thanks for your time i would appreciate any help. Scott

    • @Livlos
      @Livlos  Před 6 lety

      No image might be boot priority. I made another video, but if you want to test to be 100% sure..make sure the screen is fully on before you boot the pi up, if that works fine, its just boot configs in the pi itself. As per joysticks I had issues with an image, I stuck to images done my "mad little pixel" on all builds..and have never had any issues configuring arcade stick and game pads. PM me if you still have issues and Ill see if I can help.

      Ive been given this information.....however Im pretty much a Noob.....
      SSH in (github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/ssh), run sudo ~/RetroPie-Setup/retropie-setup.sh and go to Emulation Station configuration via
      Manage Packages -> Core Packages -> emulationstation -> Configuration or
      Configuration / Tools -> emulationstation
      and choose the option to Clear/Reset Emulation Station input configuration
      (All packages with configuration appear in Configuration / Tools when installed)

    Could you show us how to make sure that the player 1 doesn't control player 2 and vice versa...
    I have the same identical button kits and I'm having issues with retroarch having controller clash..
    Basically, player 1 is setup.. I go to configure player 2 and it overrides player one and vice versa.
    Any ideas?

    • @Livlos
      @Livlos  Před 6 lety

      that...is a new one... I've had to set up mine fully twice. And I built one for my brother using xbox controllers. I've never run into this issue. I'm not even exactly sure what you mean... I just plug in player one into the top left hand usb slot on the pi and then plug in player 2 under. I proceed to configure both (it should ask you to configure player 1 on first boot...I usually just plug in player one). Then I go to the menu to configure a new controller and hold any button on player 2. and configure the buttons.

    How do you get the leds to light up?

    • @riverdealer
      @riverdealer Před 4 lety

      it is powered by the board itself...if you have all the wires properly installed on the buttons they will light up

  • @THRobinson
    @THRobinson Před 7 lety

    I was looking at these same ones, emailed the seller and they said each PCB board only needs 500mA to light up all the LEDs... RaspberryPi3 if using two USB ports will provide 600mA each... so 'should' work... but I noticed you said you had issues when connected to the RaspPi being underpowered... did that get sorted? did you have to use a powered hub?

    • @Livlos
      @Livlos  Před 7 lety

      I didnt say so...someone commented that. I havent tried with the pi3 yet, but had the same info as you. At worse I will just run a powered usb hub

    • @THRobinson
      @THRobinson Před 7 lety

      Sorry, my mistake... I think my plans changed a bit and will do a console and each joystick box will plug into a hub... that way I can opt for LED or not. Sadly, buttons I like have no LED, the LED ones that I kinda like are in China, and not been having luck with stuff shipping from China within a reasonable amount of time. :D

    • @Livlos

    man do you have instructions to this? i have no idea how the wiring works and the kit that i got came with a shitty double sided paper that doesnt really explain how to wire. and going online was just about as useless as watching all these videos. you guys dont really explain the wiring or show how you did it. i cant figure it out.

    • @Livlos
      @Livlos  Před 7 lety

      It's been a long while since I made this vid, and the bits are actual sitting at my brothers house...but from memory...
      If this is the same kit you got its really quite straightforward. The white wire goes into the joystick and the other end into the PCB slot for the joystick (it will only fit in 1 spot). But buttons, I just looked at the instructions and plugged the wires in accordingly. the other end (that goes into the PCB) should go into what ever PCB slot...doesn't REALLY matter, but again they are labeled. Wire it up, plug into a windows machine like I did and test in the joystick set up program. Worse that can happen is you plugged something in wrong. I've had comments about these coming with defective bits too..
      If like me this is to use with a raspberry pie, the set up will ask you which button is which anyways.
