I thought that the green cable was negative data (whereas white is positive) but the green is plugged in the adapter first, right after the black (GND)... I have trouble getting mine recognized by Windows, I guess I should switch those two?

Does this work with jamma boards? Would be useful for changing between devices.

I just received the same encoder board. Which wire is the ground? White or blue? I am hooking it up to happ micro switches.

Same situation here.Anyway if I'm not mistaken the blue wire should be negative.

How would you wire a total of 9 LED buttons? There is not enough space in the USB Encoder. Since we need 4 cables for only 1 button in order to light it up. Please i need help.
Thanks a lot amazing tutorial very well explained.

On each button, 2 of the connections will be for the button itself, and those need to be connected to the relevant connector on the board. For the LED's you will need to create a 'daisy chain' cable (that runs from one button to the next) and connect those to the 5v output on the board. On my version of the board (featured in this video) the headers for 5v output are not populated (you can see the 3 open spots in the lower left corner of the board), so if I wanted LED lighting, I would have to solder a 5v and ground wire to the board using the holes where one of those connectors would go.

Olaf Wagner thanks for the explanation! Hopefully I’m not gonna have problems when I will try to do it. Thanks again!

Pity you couldn't keep it all leaf, or fit some Atari cone buttons for the player and coin.

yes, absolutely. hot glue works very well for 'quick-n-easy' PCB installation.
