That De Young mausoleum is the final resting place of Michael De Young, co-founder of the San Francisco Chronicle and namesake of the De Young Museum.
When I saw "De Young", I thought the same thing and wondered if it was the same family.

That red brick mausoleum is really full. Great to have the family together!
What a beautiful, peaceful cemetery..I could walk around in there all day
I very much like your style, informative & respectful at the same time, watching several back episodes and decided to subscribe. Thanks for showing me around these fascinating mausoleums, the grounds are immaculate & the structures well maintained...Greetings from Oz🏳🌈
I appreciate that
Today 3/18 is my birthday. I'm waiting to go out to dinner with family and friends later.🎂
Happy birthday!
Happy birthday!
🎉Happy Birthday
Awesome cemetery! I love these old family mausoleums. I am glad to see that they are in good condition, and well cared for, for the most part. I get a kick out of seeing a broom being left in some of them, for family members to use when doing their annual cleaning. I hope they think to bring a can of 3-in-one oil, and some wd-40 to lubricate the locks and hinges of the doors. Or would the cemetery grounds crew help with that?
Great walking tour, thank you very much Tony. Have a great day. 😊
I love your channel. Looks like a beautiful afternoon there.
I think these mausoleums are beautiful! You don't see things like this in most Australian cemeteries. The architecture is amazing! I love your commentary by the way😂
If I could afford one of those I would have a door bell installed as last gag
Always look forward to watching the videos 📸😊💯
Either broken into previously or to prevent a break in; those tombs should always have all the locks that can be put on them. .
Very nice Tony 👍 this gave me something to watch during lunch 👍👍👍
Mausoleums are very impressive no doubt. If one could afford to go that route I would hope that a perpetual care fund would have been established for care and maintenance down the road. I have seen some that were in such sad condition after those entombed have long long been forgotten.
These were great. I wonder how well the caskets or even the bodies hold up in these very extravagant structures, curious because of cremation is so popular these days? I could walk all day there.
I was just thinking about this channel and was wondering when you was going to post, thank you, monument man from Western Pennsylvania
Another home run video. Great fascinating stuff.
Thanks Tony
Glad you enjoyed it

Greetings from Poteet Texas and thanks for a great video
Thanks for watching!
Awesome
Beautiful ♥️ Thank you ♥️
Thank you! 😊
Hey Man. I have a question. Has anyone ever said hey man thanks for show my grand parents or mom or dad, after you did a video of a cemetery?? Pretty cool video. This is my first time I watched one of your videos.
Thanks! I’ve had people tell me that I just walked by a family members grave in one of my videos, or I’ve been asked specifically to visit a grave of somebody because they lived out of state and haven’t been back to visit that grave in years and they can’t travel because of health reasons. But it actually happens pretty often that somebody will put in my comments that I walked by their grandmother, or their aunt or somebody.
Think about the hours it took to hand carve the stone and time to design and pour the metal for the doors. Probably not many hand stone carvers anymore. Plexiglass to keep what is inside inside. LOL
You are a great commentator. Thanks!
Nice calming walk thank you Tony. Who would think an old potato farm? I'm crazy claustrophobic in situations even on the plane. Gotta have windows for sure. Thank you for this walk. The five or so with the iron gates makes me feel much better. Fresh air flow that's nice.
Thank you very much. Yeah it’s a beautiful place.
Beautiful and interesting.Tfs.
Thanks for watching
thats cool
I love the beautiful doors!
Me too!
Thank you for the wonderful tour! From Indiana
Glad you enjoyed it!
All they missing is a mailbox and powerlines
Hi Tony! I am surprised you got any backlash for using the endoscope. You would think they would be happy you are able to get insider info on the Mausoleums! Oh well, I guess you can't please everyone! As for me, I say use it whenever you can!
These were some good shots on the Mausoleums, I enjoy every recording you make of the many cemeteries in your area, even repeats! You never know when a change may be found, like the open crypt in the one Mausoleum waiting for a new occupant to arrive!
Do the cemeteries in your area forbid dogs? I went to one in my area, and they had a sign, no dogs allowed, however, they had no way to keep wandering dogs out... If it is due to messes, I am one who brings bags for such accident clean up!
Some have signage up about dogs
@@CryptDoor That is what I found, but rather than "CLEAN UP AFTER YOU DOG", they had "NO DOGS ALLOWED". Which bothers me, as I like to have my dobie boy along for the ride and walk around, and I always carry "doggie bags" for clean up!
And the cemetery isn't in a nice area, and I don't feel safe going alone there.
I’m waiting for the day when you slide the Endoscope into a space & something grabs it….just sayin…..😂
Many of the mausoleums are certainly grand but remember that most were built by families in the days before taxes when large fortunes were established. Families oftentimes left trust funds for their maintenance but, for example, the income from $50,000 left in 1900 went much farther than it would in today's world. Additionally, in many cases, no family members are left or if they are, they cannot afford the cost of the maintenance of a mausoleum. Lastly, many cemeteries are having problems simply running the cemetery let alone maintaining mausoleums. (Income from the now popular cremation burial is far less than that of a full burial.) Sadly, these magnificent monuments will eventually cease to exist. Nothing lasts forever!
I'll just put this question out there.. Does anyone see something in the reflection on the glass from the first moselum ?
No gotta go back n look.
Hi Tony, for some reason, I was unsubscribed from you. So im now in catch up. I hope you are well.
Doing well Kev been super busy. how about you? Yeah, sometimes I get people telling me that that they’re mysteriously unsubscribed. Crazy technology lol.
@@CryptDoor I'm doing well, spring is here, so time to visit a couple of churches, that I know will be in colour.
Why did people have a problem with the endoscope?
I was told it was disrespectful, but the amount of people that said that was very small.
You know, when they build the fancy mausoleums, monuments to themselves, they expect people to look at them. If they have windows, they want people to look inside. When they are maintained inside, they especially want people to look.
Ha! Holy Cross Cemetery. Catholic? Everyone buried there has worn-out knees from kneeling. lol
We have a wealthy DeYoung family in Fresno. They are in construction. They married into another Fresno construction dynasty, the Bonadelle family. Hey! That's a spicy-a meat-a-ball. lol
Oh, the McCaffrey family, also in construction, married into the Bonadelle family also.
Yes, Holy Cross is a Catholic cemetery.
Do you ever do any back ground who some of the crypts were. Family business important persons. They had money to build these their resting place. 🤔
Oh yes, if you go back in my videos, there’s plenty of those.
I walk around different cemeterys and take photos of interesting stone makers and mausoleums and then do the search online thru the cemeterys or find a grave and lean the back ground and what they did in life and weath tobuild such wonderful mausoleums and who's in them . Some very interesting info of the past 🤔
Hope you weren't locked in ! ❤
Haha no
