I thought everyone knew about the two bevels on a chisel??? I knew it in shop class in 1964 and it has worked excellently for me since then through hundreds of chisels of various sizes......

Any intersection of two planes along its longitudinal dimension will produce the same result: a sharp edge.
Just get a Veritas or Eclipse sharpening jig. Job done.

You don't need to use a battery to strop the chisel. Get a old leather belt and lay it on it's face. Then add the toothpaste or cleanser with water to the leather and pull the chisel edge across the leather.
It looks like there is a double bevel on the chisel: an angled edge on both sides. While this is okay for rough work, it means more work being done for accurate use, compensating for the chisel wanting to move upward in the cut. The bottom of the chisel needs to be absolutely flat, hopefully with a little hollow area about 1cm from the tip.

Not only will this clog up your stone, the water will cause the wood to swell lifting the edge of the chisel off of the stone.
Most sensible comment in the section. Spend pennies on a proper honing jig or 30 mins making a wooden honing jig that will load your oil stone with wood fibres, and limit the bearing surface when you remove the burr. I've freehanded from grinder to oil stone since my trainee days so never even owned a honing jig!

Every chisel and plane iron should have two angles on the cutting edge unless I have been doing it wrong for 60 years as a joiner

A chisel is NEVER sharpened with two angles. Why do you think the back is flat. It is not a knife.
She doesn’t mean an angle on one side and a different angle on the back 🙄. Traditionally chisels are sharpened at two angles but have a look at Paul Sellers style. He sharpens at one angle and works great 👍

You are not sharpening the chisel. You are honing the chisel. You should know better.
A wee bit over the top, why waste all this time making a jig when you can buy one of the shelf and when taking the burr off the back of the chisel your better running the chisel along the length of the oil stone, i even got a sharp edge using sandpaper on its own when i misplaced my stone, when i was an apprentice joiner i had the job of sharpening all the joiners chisels and planes, and if it took me this long to do one chisel all the joiners would have retired before i finished sharpening their tools.

If you saw the block slightly crookedly, the chisel will be sharpened crookedly. With washers you scratch the part of the chisel that should be perfectly flat and polished. If you press unevenly, the wood will quickly wear down and tilt the sharpening angle. The wood itself will clog the sharpening stone. You are clearly not a carpenter.
Если чуть криво отпилить брусок, то и стамеска заточится криво. Шайбами вы царапаете ту часть стамески, которая должна быть идеально ровная и отполированная. При неравномерном нажатии, дерево будет быстро стачиваться и заваливать угол заточки. Само дерево будет забивать камень для заточки. вы явно не столяр.
