I work at a company with 105 employees. Roughly 75% of us are white. The rest is a mixture of Asian, Black and Hispanic. 4 of them are black people. 1 is a (legal) immigrant from Nigeria. 2 are male, 2 are female. Of them, 3 of them make more money than I do. The fourth, a black woman, makes the exact same amount that I do. But she drives a 2020 Escalade while I'm driving a 2007 Suzuki.
I'm beyond tired of successful black people telling us that black people can't be successful in this country.
I'm also tired of these "influencers" who insist that white people have been, are, and always will be racist and that will never change because that's just how we are. If that's true, if nothing can change, then why bother trying at all?
One thing I've noticed, as a mechanic, is that a lot of people of color that like to drive the luxury brands, habitually and carefully take care of the exterior of the vehicle, while completely neglecting the interior and mechanical side. I can guarantee that the lady driving the Escalade is probably only doing the oil changes (5k miles and 3 months past the recommended date and mileage) and putting off any and all of the other needed maintenance. There is also an 85% chance that you can smell marijuana from 3 car lengths away the moment they open the car door or window, Lord help you if you need to work on the vehicle sober.
Simple! To receive hand outs like they always do. It’s easier to claim everything is racist and ran on white supremacy and work up sympathy money than it is for them to work on themselves and actually find a decent job to work without whining about anything. Oh but heaven forbid you through that racism card back at them even though they’re are as guilty of it as the day is long.
I worked construction and I was on a job with a Nigerian man who had lived in Japan and married a Japanese woman. So we had some general conversations and he showed me a picture of his daughter. She was about 11 I would say and without a doubt the ugliest child I ever saw. What do you say? What can you say? I think I said something about like "Yea, that's a kid alright" and changed the subject.

I have an old photo hanging on the wall of my great grandfather and the family. 7 kids, dirt poor, the kids have no shoes on and back then, when you went to have a "picture made" you wore the best you had.Great grandpa died of an abscessed tooth in his late 30's. If he had any privilege, then I sure would like to know what it was. A lot of sex is about the only thing I could see that he ever had.Two generations later, my dad was the first in the family to have anything but a labor type job. I am a 54 yr old woman who works 60 hour weeks. I shouldn't have to, but I do. If I can do it, then these 20 somethings can get off their butts and work the same hours.
I was born a slave. When we escaped & they put us in a halfway house in the hood in the Bronx, my mom was like- we all find jobs. We are NOT getting handouts.
Not ONE person from my village or my culture EVER would ask for a handout or use their own oppression to demand payouts. We are so happy to be free and have the opportunity to work.

There is a difference between "wage" and "income." In all my working life (I'm 70 years old and fully retired), I made exactly the same wage as any white man at my rank or job position. We may have made different annual incomes, if he worked more overtime than I did. But our wage was the same.

We do the more dangerous and harder jobs that pay more, can women do them? sure but will they....nope. If they did the average would be leveled but that requires effort by them, kind of like womans sports, the reason they get payed less is because not even the women are attending games or watching them so that brings in less money but they still blame men, also, women usually only want to date men that are more financially successful then them therefore they are asking men to choose women who are less financially successful hence why women on average are less than men across the board.

Actually, for the same reason women get paid less than men. Because they think we’re not good/smart/competent enough to have important and well-paid jobs. Like seriously, some occupations (like IT in my case) are just unavailable for women. I’m a college graduate, I have a decent portfolio, I’m twice as competent as my male buddies who only finished some shitty online courses, but somehow the companies that rejected me have almost immediately hired them. Of course y’all will find bazillion stupid nonexistent reasons why I got rejected, but that’s a common experience for my female colleagues, and the only thing we have in common is our vaginas. So yeah, I’m quite sure it’s just sexism at its finest. If you want to know what it feels like, try to find a job in a daycare/kindergarten as an adult male. No matter how competent and good at your job you’ll be, most (if not all) companies will reject you because of your genitals.
A lot of women also don't work as many hours as men and skip overtime more often. I once saw a video on this issue where a woman was complaining about not being paid as much as her male coworker when he asked her how much overtime she did compared to him. She couldn't argue with that. 😂
