I know that sounds weird and all being thankful for an ad, but I'm currently studying abroad in Ireland and was extremely homesick. One of my biggest comfort shows has always been The Nanny because my Mom and I would watch it every night before going to bed and even on the nights where I couldn't fall asleep and would convince her to let me sleep in her bed. The Vegetarian is one of my favourite books I’ve ever read. I studied it at uni and my god, what a masterpiece. It’s wacky and uncomfortable, yet so beautifully sensitive and pure. Definitely one to look forward to!
That's a beautiful edition of Ariadne. I read it last year and I really enjoyed it.
The Razor's Edge is stunning. My dad gifted it to me so it'll always be special but Maugham just happens to be an incredible writer also.

I'm in the middle of this amazing non-fiction book right now you might be interested in! It's called A Fatal Thing Happened On The Way to the Forum by Emma Southon and I'm obsessed with her writing style
I read the little paris bookshop last year for my bookclub. Theres not so much Paris in my memory, because he gets on his boat and floats away, but it did give me major France nostalgia anyway. It's an easy floaty read in general but I enjoyed the book index at the back, I pulled some titles for further reading from in there.
I really like how grateful he is for his family.
