I don’t really know if there’s a strong difference between hoarding books and collecting. Like I’ve never held on to the bargain bin or yard sale or NYT best seller shelve books that I’ve randomly gotten over the years. There are some books that are really worth holding on to or collecting though. Like I guess it’s the more serious literature through history or important works. I feel like most of those books you have are one time readers and then not worth much to you after that. Nice to pass on or donate for others to enjoy that one time read when they’re board

This would have been a great opportunity to mark books as owned on storygraph or begin an elaborate spreadsheet. If this had been me, I would have ended up not leaving the house in weeks. Thank goodness I am an ebook person so I can simply be overenthusiastic about calibre.

I love that you've done this! ❤ when my son was a few weeks old (he's just turned 5 months) he had really bad colic during feeds so we'd stand up and walk round our living room, bouncing him gently whilst looking for book titles and authors for every letter of the alphabet on our shelves; however long it took to get his wind up 😂😂🙈🙈 thanks for another fab video!

I've never read 2666, the most well known work by Bolaño. I would start with something else like The Savage Detectives. (This made me start my literature degree). After that The Skating Rink and then Amulet. The Third Reich was a good one too (not about Nazis. It's about a man who is obsessed with the board game of the same name). 2666 is more than 1000 pages. I won't read it anytime soon.
