Love you Stuart. You make my day with each painting you upload to YT. I find your cadence and tone to be just the right medicine to help me through the rough days of work. Bless you for your generosity of time and patience with us wanna-be artist. The ease with which you transform a "glob" of paint into a striking painting will never cease to amaze me .
Ditto.

Absolutely love him! Learning from him changed my life, I just love oil painting! His teaching style and approach are awesome...
Yup you fixed the lighting perfect Stuart!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thank you so much Stuart for taking the time to teach a hitherto non-artist learn to paint. I was teased quite horridly at school for my lack of ability in art and believed firmly I couldn't paint for years. About 35 of them!
That is until I came across your channel - thank you so much.
I just love what you do the canvas Stuart. Awesome!!
I could just gaze into that sky and landscape for ages. . Endlessly fascinating work you do as is the way you do it !
Я из России, и я в восторге от Вас и Ваших прекрасных уроков. Благодарю Вас, Стюарт.
A masterclass in landscape spontaneity . Thank you Stuart, always a pleasure to watch, learn and enjoy.
Love that dark brooding ominous sky, or as we call it in Scotland....... summer!😂
Lol!
Amazing Stuart, I loved how the clouds appeared. Learning from you never gets dull. You're my hero brother! Aloha!❤
best part about it is that its so beginner friendly aswell love that
Love the muted colors. Color harmony is awesome. Keep shining, Stuart 🌟
Thank you for another beautiful painting packed with lessons especially for the beginner. I love the fact that you do not give all this mathematics and chemistry stuff ( values warm cool etc
Another winner! Thank you. It’s such a pleasure to listen to your lovely voice explaining what you’re doing, and to see the creation of delightful art happening before my eyes.
I'm watching on my phone & the lighting seems just fine. No APTA paper rolls on eBay, I just checked & used various search terms.
I did find rolls of SCOTT lint free professional paper shop towels. I've not tried them yet but, just ordered some.
Stay Safe folks & (as always) Thank You for making these videos Stuart. 👍❤
I like your favourite colours. Your voice is clearer on my iPhone than on my TV. Hope to see you working again Saturday.
Another beautiful piece. You are without a doubt my favorite sky painter.
Beautiful painting as always Stuart! I love the moment when it transforms for me from the rough initial state into the magical state. That moment seems to happen all of a sudden for me and I am perplexed at how you did it because I didn't see it coming. This one really turned out beautifully!
Wonderful demo, Stuart. You make it feel well within my reach. Thank you. 😊
I thoroughly enjoyed this. Going to try it tonight🙂.
REALLY looking forward to May 11th class. Foliage and texture lesson would be fantastic!
I love the giant fisherman standing there. LOL
Ha! I will find you :-)
Another great tutorial and I love your hat/microphone hack!
Well done ,it’s magic! You never disappoint. X
It's always a pleasure to watch. Please take care of your health
Oh that sky! ❤

Thank you!
Hope your voice doesn't disappear! enjoyed this!
❤🎉 Very nice picture Stuart!! 😊 And speaking of Abstract, that hill reminded me of Mont St Michel don't laugh 😂 I have an imagination and am also probably just missing France at the moment... 😊🥖🧀🍷 Thanks as always for your videos!! 😍😁
Great video! That was a fantastic drawing you showed as well.
Always great videos. It’s been 2 years I have enjoyed your content. Cheers

Enjoyed this very nice mood in the painting
The man's got talent! :o)
Quite magical!
I'm a digital painter, but I use the techniques here all the time in my own digital art
How cool!
Brilliant, thank you, hope your well at the moment ❤️🎨
Thanks, you are wonderful!
Wonderful!
It's beautiful!
It's lovely
Love the mood created by the subtle tones. Always appreciate the encouraging explanation which makes me feel that i could do this, sitting on the shoulders of a master artist and instructor ☕️☕️
Beautiful in its simplicity, thanks for sharing as always
Awesome
Love the sky. I've been looking to do something outside of the normal blue. This sky has life and emotion. Thank you
Nice simple free painting just let it form. I’m still learning this so I won’t get angry at myself when I think it doesn’t look like what the artist painted.
It's always an interesting painting with your teaching!
Wonderful as always a total inspiration. I am determined to pick up a paint brush and just go for it. (to be honest I did try your technique on a backdrop with some fairly pleasing results) Time to get that board/canvas ready. Stay well and safe.
Fantastic demo work sir 👌
THANKYOU love you keep well
Thanks again
Thank you 👍
Hello, i am not from America and ,pls, keep it in cm., sad to hear about your voice problem, i have to say i really miss your yt videos. You are my favorite teacher in oil paintings and a beautifull soul. Stay safe, be happy, looking forward to the next painting.
Thank you Mr. Davies, your videos have helped me start my oil painting journey. I made some landscape paintings today but noticed that they seem very two dimensional, perhaps you know how to improve depth?
Hello Stuart, thank you for your videos, very inspiring! Would it work the same on a canvas? What would be the disadvantages or what would I need to do to get the same effect?
fab as always. Bit concerned about your voice problem stopping you from painting?
thyroid hormone replacement can help with Hashimoto’s disease, Stuart… Good luck to you!
Stunning painting as always Stuart. Do you subscribe to the theory that you need to have a focal point in a painting? If so, where is the focal point here? The water? The clouds? I have painted many paintings without conaciously thinking of a focal point.. some of the artists I follow insist that there must be a focal point to draw the eye in. ? What do you think?
Wow very nice Painting Stuart .that Painting use sap green with Red ocher . I want to ask One questions oil colour can paint on paper
Wow i love you Painting Stuart. I still always follow you channel.i want to ask you can i use burnt seiana .crimson lake ,sap green and ultramarine blue
Crimson Lake may be a bit powerful.
Great vid as always 🙂 what would you suggest as a substitute for red ochre - burnt umber? Maybe with a bit yellow ochre mixed in?
Orange , yellow and brown together
Cadmium red, but don't over do it.
😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
I follow you on the CZcams, you Are a great teacher. My question to you is
How to remove the dust on the painting on the board.
Thank you, but could you rephrase your question?
Thank you for responding!
I painted on a MDF board a while ago. As it was kept in the open, some dust has got collected on the painting. I wanted to know how I can clean it, as I am unable to remove it using a dry soft cloth. Will really appreciate your help on this
Excuse the technical question Stuart but I can't find red ochre from Lefranc. They have transparent red ochre but not the one you use. It is not listed on their website anymore. Strange. I understand why it is your favorite color by what you do with it. Like the sky on this painting. Beautiful.
That's odd! The French name for it is, Ocre Rouge Transparent. I usually refer to it as Red Ochre.
@@StuartDavies Thanks Stuart! They used to have the transparent one and the opaque one. I know because I still have a little of the opaque one left in a small tube, and I also have the transparent one. Good to know you use the transparent one. But I have no doubt that you could use anything and you will produce great paintings. I very much like how you teach to not be hung up on paints, like when you say that the blue you choose to use is the one that is closest to you. But I also know that you are careful about paints because you talked about a paint that you bought that behaves strangely where sometimes it looks green and when you spread it thin it turns strong yellow. It was interesting seeing what you did with that paint as well.
Stuart, when you say that you are adding oil to your paint - may i ask what oil you are adding? and how much. Is adding oil - better or just different than adding a solvent ?
I use linseed oil, which is what most painters use. I don't use turpentine or solvents, because of the smell and also I don't think the fumes are good for your health.
What are you using to thin your paint? Turpentine?
Linseed oil. I don't use turpentine at all.
Nice painting. It's a shame if it was the jab that brought on your voice problem a.
Thanks Stuart for another great lesson on how to make something out of nothing.
Most enjoyable as always.😎🇦🇺🦘
