  • Every week, I sell different vintage microphones on my website! I take samples of every microphone I sell, and some weeks build tracks using them. In this video we're listening to a 1960's Victor MV-104L (Rebranded Aiwa VM-15) Ribbon Microphone from the 1960's, some Electro Voice 664A Dynamic Microphones from the 1970's, and an AKG D20 Dynamic Microphone from the 1960's.

    Sounds really good. What else is in the signal chain (ie preamps, recording medium, etc)?

      I almost always only use an AEA RPQ2 to let the mic’s have an honest tone with no EQ, but this time ran things through the Altec 1567A! Into an Apollo then Protools.

      @@colepicksvintage Hah funny I thought this one maybe sounded a little more glued or vibey or whatever the buzzword is. Just slightly more exciting to my ears. The altec stuff is great so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.
