Soaring Above Gothic Basin - Washington State

Gothic Basin is located within the Morning Star Natural Resources Conservation Area of the Cascade Mountains. In this video we continue on and climb to the summit of Gothic Peak on a pleasant mid-October weekday. The trail begins at Barlow Pass, and after following a forest service road heads uphill at a rather steep pace. This area is very popular and we were expecting to encounter many other hikers but saw almost no one all day, probably due to a recent snowfall and slippery/wet conditions. This beautiful area is fragile, so if you go there be sure to limit your travel to established trails or hard surfaces.
