I have three Echo PAS powerheads. 13 years ago, I purchased the Pro-Torque trimmer attachment. I use it for most of my trimming and it fits all of my powerheads
I have the PAS-2620 straight shaft edge trimmer and the pro torque string trimmer head definitely worth the upgrade. Zero issues in 3 years non ethanol and Echo Red Armor.
I have the 3020t and its a beast. Recently purchased a 450 speed feed for my 410u model. Have some big string i want to use. It should be a ripper. Be safe out there.
Ordered the head they send me a 7 point trqs head shaft insert instead of the square cable shaft. Trying to find a way to extract the inserts to swap to the square shaft.
Thank you. The regular 2620 has no cutting power i prefer my old srm 230 cuts better ive never had a trimmer head stop up cutting normal grass like this non T model. I should have just orderd the T to begin with. What string you using .95 is usually the go to 80 to weak.
Where can i purchase the new torque, so that i can install it on my PAS 2620... which i luv alot...i just used today the trimmer attachment for the first time, and i really luv it though it make the entire unit kinda heavy. 😊
What is the difference between the srm225 and the srm2320 because as far as I’m aware it is the exact same engine the only difference I can find is the handle grip is the commercial style on
It’s the same displacement but the bore is crammed and I believe the piston is different as well with different materials. I’ve had both and there’s no comparison the 2320 is 1000 times better..
@@GwinnettLawns oh okay yeah I have a pas 225 and it really has no power in fact it is brand new and I haven’t used in it months because I have a 266 and a pas 2620 and they are beast
THAT'S all it takes?!?!? I try to buy high torgue Echo trimmers everytime I buy a new one. The 410x is so beastly, either she's already torquey, or she doesn't need it.
I just bought a New SRM 2620 (made NOV 2022) and also just bought New from Echo Dealer 2620T gear head (it came with larger blade fixture) $78. The reason I did this was to the stock gear head for trimmer line and the 2620T for a Blade so it'll be a easy 2 bolt swap to change heads complete with String or Blade depending what I need to do. Because this is new when I removed the one bolt (that locks the head) and the other bolt that you only (need to loosen) and pulled the gear head down the cable came out with it? I only pulled the head out about 3-4" when I saw it (the cable) was coming out too I stopped and put the gear head back on to research this and found your video here. Was it just suction that pulled the cable out with the gear head, there's plenty of grease on that cable. I'm guessing I just need to grab hold of cable and gently pull from head? Then push cable and make sure it seats in the spline at other end of shaft. Any reply is much appreciated. So I tried again and the shaft stayed in place...BIG problem though the T gear Head I bought ECHO P/N P021051220 will NOT fit my SRM 2620 the cable end on mine like the one in this video is SQUARE and the gear head I bought looks kind of like a Torx except its has 7 slots or notches THEY DON'T MATCH UP!

The gearbox with the torx head is actually splined (spline drive) for models with the solid steel driveshaft. I know all high torque (T) models are square drive which use cable inside their shaft

Yes, the cable just slides out as it's just a press-in fit. I suppose it could come out with the gear if it had a lot of grease on the end.
