Sometime we all need a little break from our everyday life. In this case I needed a break from youtube. So near the end of this fishing video I explain why I left youtube for 2 months.
Leaving youtube gave me some time to not have to constantly think about reading comments and being bombarded with other peoples opinions and thoughts on all of my actions.
I'm a pretty simple guy. I like to catch and cook fish and make fishing videos. I like to drink a cold one with friends. And sometimes I think a yellow eye snapper is an American red snapper LOL
I do love all the support from all my subscribers. Hi Heiko, I know this is an old video but just wanted to tell you, if you ever do the tuna salad again a bit of dijon mustard instead of so much mayo and a teaspoon of paprika. Its a game changer if doing it for sandwich. Also, now that you have green onions in your yard add a bit for that freshness. Good luck and I'm keeping up with your videos, they are super enjoyable.

Dude, no matter what you do or say someone is always gonna find a reason to bitch. I actually checked Dan's channel because I was worried something happened to you. Bro, you make vids about fishing and cooking. There's no reason to get uptight over that. Just enjoy your time on the planet. I used to live in Venetian Shores in Islamorada. I had a boat before a car and used to run around Snake Creek and the Mangroves. I can't tell you how much I miss it. I would ride my bike to Holiday Isle and get fish remains and use them for shark and lobster at night in the canal. Don't take a day for granted as your in a truly beautiful place. Glad you're back!
Man the reason I started watching your videos a couple years ago was because of the excitement and enthusiasm with every catch. I, and I'm sure many others, enjoy the fact that you are a regular guy that enjoys fishing and it's more real than watching professional fishermen. Keep doing what you're doing! You are pretty much the only channel that I have bought merch and tackle/seasoning from, and that is because of the genuine joy you have while filming and we have while watching!

You know I love you man! I have a feeling that I know what has been going on... Life is a road that you're just constantly walking along with your arms full, picking stuff up along the way while dropping crap behind you, we're not always ready to walk away from the stuff that slips out of our hands, but if it were meant to be we'd still be carrying it, the important part is that we keep moving, picking up more stuff as we go. Do what feels right and you'll rarely regret your decisions.

A little late on the support, but my dad and I have been watching your videos since very very early on. You’ve influenced the last 11 trips throughout the years renting a boat and self guiding ourselves through the keys. The south Florida fishing weedless squid rigs, mutton rigs, and yellow tail jigs have brought us many many years of success and joy (as well as our first black fin last year!!). Great to see you back, doing what you enjoy and what we the viewers enjoy watching. We all have good days and bad days, that's fishing, if we went out catching the big fish all of the time, we would get fed up, for me it's about the sport and having a great day and time, whatever the weather whatever you catch, it's the way fishing goes, I've been sea angling for 38 years over here in the UK 🇬🇧. Out on the charter boats, there is nothing worse than other anglers belittling anglers, the so called know all of the sport. I've never had time for these people, we are anglers and we are all in the same boat 🛥 so to speak ( no pun intended) we all make mistakes, and why, because we are not perfect, remember a bad day's fishing will always beat a good day at work. Man, I don’t know where to begin. Most people have no idea what it takes to do what your doing. You are putting everything in your life out there for the world to see. Let me start off by saying I really enjoy you videos. They are authentic and real. You show the good and bad. There are no fishermen out there that know everything. Ignoring the trolls and keep having fun. If you keep having fun you will continue to have great content. I started a channel in 2020 because of you and a very short list of others. I have some understanding of what you go through but on a much smaller scale. You are doing great!
Heiko my brother, you are living the dream. I'm sure you have more than your fair share of stress to contend with but keep doing you and enjoy it! Life is short, and you can't waste time worrying about what others think. I have been following you for a while now and love the content you put out. You even inspired me to go out and buy a 1975 21-foot Wellcraft cuddy cabin. I completely rebuilt her from the keel up and converted it into a center console in the process. My family and I love spending time on it up here in the northern Chesapeake Bay fishing for Strippers. Love the channel and look forward to watching many more of your adventures.

Keep it up dude. I like the raw nature of your videos how I can just watch a guy go fuel his boat and pick up some chum then hit the water and have fun, I feel invested in the trip and it feels like every catch is exciting.
About the haters, unfortunately haters will always exist and they seem like the loud minority, I don't understand why if the videos cause them so much anger, they continue to watch and feel the need to bring everyone down with them. I also think the comment section will usually be loaded with people correcting and judging because the majority who enjoyed the video just hit the like button and move on instead of leaving a comment. So to you it would seem like every comment is just negative and I can see that bringing anyone down. Just know that the majority of us here enjoy your videos and appreciate them.

Welcome back. Missed your videos. I moved to Florida recently and finally got a boat. Can’t wait to start fishing offshore and catch all these fish I grew up watching on TV. I love your “I’m just out here having fun an figuring out this fishing thing” type attitude. I hope to one day meet you, hopefully see you out on the water when we make it down to the keys. Your vids are like what it’s like goin out with your buddies where something is alway left at the dock but you hope for the best. And that’s why people keep watching. Hey just want to say I love your videos. I started watching 4 yrs ago when I was about to go to Key Largo for the first time and have been a fan ever since. I rented a boat and wanted to learn how to fish the reefs on my own with my wife and 2 sons. I had no idea what the hell I was doing but learned a lot from your videos. We caught a few fish...very few...but had a great time trying to figure it out thanks to you. I loved the fact that you did not come across as some expert fisherman that just knows everything and are just a regular guy that wants to catch whatever is biting.We have been trying to take a trip back down there the last couple of years but the crazy world has put that on hold. Hopefully next winter we will be back. Dont let the trolls out there get to you.You will never be able to escape them when you put yourself out there as you do. Some people just like to bitch at everyone while they sit in there house on there computer and never try anything themselves. Just know that your videos make a difference to a lot of people but the people with the biggest mouths get heard the most. Shake it off and keep doing what ypu love. Other people love it too.
