    Lady KAG did great work . Always good when the wife takes interest in the project . Good team work. Can’t wait to see the new MK project completed

    There you go again, Lady KAG doing all the work while Chris gets loopy on bondo fumes. Pretty good for first time! Good one making a wood dowel to plug the large holes. Too many times I see people trying to use it to fill huge holes like that which can crack and bubble. Well done!

      Hahahah she’s just better than I am at everything except arcade gaming. I forgot to thank Mike for the dowel tip!

    Yeah Bondo is not too hard to work with. As a rookie myself I filled in small holes on my Z cars after sanding smooth and painting. (after taking off hatch louvers and side trim) You couldn't see the holes anymore. I actually found a RoadBlasters cabinet for an OG one I'm building. So I will probably do some bondo work on that in the future myself. lol Love the videos man, keep 'em coming. We got your back!
    Also props to Lady KAG for the bondo work!

      It was fairly easy. Even I could have possibly pulled it off if Lady KAG had refused to help haha. Roadblasters is a cool machine!

    Looks good, nice work! Man I thought we got alot of huminity in Virginia Beach but Texas seems to be at another level!

      It gets pretty humid here. This was an odd situation for us though. We came from near record lows to 70 and rainy suddenly. My garage was very cold and opening to garage just made everything wet lol. We do get pretty nasty humid days here, especially in the spring. Its just plain gross.

    Yea dude great work and looks like a fun project, and your videos are always awesome!! 👍 I just got Mortal Kombat Trilogy on N64 today, been playing that on my CRT and reminds me of playing on a real arcade machine , haven't done that in probably 25 years

    You really have to sand that bondo real good. Like you’ve shown. It will show after painting. Lesson I learned just like you. My second one I did I put a little more muscle into the sanding and got it flush. Great job!

    Would love to see you run groovymame in this cab.
    It is designed to output the games native resolution out to a crt as well as having virtually no input latency.
    IMO it’s the best you can get short of having actual PCBs.

    Hard to tell in the video, but was any of that water damage? If so you are better off replacing the damaged section/area

    • @KillerArcadeGames
      @KillerArcadeGames  Před 6 měsíci +2

      There may have been a tiny amount on the very bottom. As if it sat on slightly wet carpet at one point. The side panels had some confetti look at the bottom, but it was less than a 1/4 inch. It may have just been moved on a rough surface and shredded.

    Really interested what your ideas are for getting the arcade1up guts to display on a crt as I am trying to do something similar. I know the first run arcade1up pcbs you could get rgbs out from the board but as far as I know the newer ones are lvds and you have to use geekworm for that. So are you trying to go from geekworm and downscale to 15khz?

    • @KillerArcadeGames
      @KillerArcadeGames  Před 6 měsíci +2

      My plan is to try using the geekworm straight to a Makvision trimode CRT since it has a VGA input. If that doesn’t work I’ll try Geekworm to one of those arcade video adapter boards. I’m frustrated with the project already since i ordered a geekworm board that didn’t come with the LVDS cable so I had to order another one. I’m now being told the Geekworm v2.0 works with KI but the 1.5 doesn’t…I ordered two 1.5’s lol. I also ran into issues getting the PC to display on the Makvision. I think I’m scrapping the Makvision idea all together and using a traditional arcade monitor.

    • @bgilletteco
      @bgilletteco Před 6 měsíci +1

      Yeah I would ultimately like to hook arcade1up boards to a pvm so I can play them online as well and from what I understand about the geekworm is that it just translates lvds to hdmi. So those pcbs display 920p if I remember correctly which wouldn’t be able to be displayed correctly which is why those geekworms are so hit and miss with the monitors they display to. My assumption is that there needs to be a downscaler somewhere in the chain. So pcb -> geekworm -> downscaler that displays 240p and 15khz. I started looking into an ossc pro as that supposedly can downscale and wouldn’t add much lag if at all noticeable lag but got distracted with work and other stuff. Now that I saw your video I will probably get back to this project
