- This is my review of the Yamaha MG10XU mixer/audio interface. I'm going to try to explain what this is capable of as simply as possible, though there's a lot to unpack. Enjoy!

What did you think about the Yamaha MG10XU? Do you believe there's anything I missed? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
Just do a google search an you'll see something to the effect of": "Any dynamic microphone with a low impedance balanced output, like the SM58, is not affected by phantom power. Phantom Power will not damage a professional dynamic microphone."
You can get a cable splitter so that more than one headphone can be used.
Waiting on this in the mail, thanks for reviewing!
You deserve more viewers
Keep it up man!
about your headphone situation, just get a headphone amplifier with the 4 xtra ports to hook up more headphones
Great review, thanks.
How did you sync the audio from this mixer to your video in your live streams? Was it an easy process?
Great for backup. It's analog but sounds clean. Built well, typical Yamaha.
Most non condenser mics won’t be effected by the 48v. I have done a few recordings with my friends on this console, I use a blue ember mic and my other mics are SM58s and they don’t need phantom power, but they have been working perfectly. Just watch out if you are using a cheaper 30-75$ dynamic mic cause that could be harmed by 48v but not majorly.
Yeah, you should never use phantom power on mics that don't require it. You could end up causing damage to both the mic and possibly the mixer itself.
I'm confused, this is suppose to have two USB ins and 2 USB outs.
And yet there is only one row for USB.
Also, I'm confused how to apply an effect and assign it to one row, then assign another effect to another row.
For example, I might want to apply one effect to a mic vocal input, but another effect to an instrumentl input.
Dynamic mics are fine with phantom power!
Nice video, but I have a question: If I connect my headphones straight to the Phones Input of the MG10XU, do I hear myself while speaking through the mic or can I disable that?
You can disable it by moving the nop from mic input to pc output
@@yuma_ngcan you hear PC output and mic input at the same time?
@@Drmikaeru if u move it in the middle yes. One side is pc and one side is mic. If u have it in the middle or a small pref to one direction, u will hear both
Just purchased this, seeing if this will help with the power hungry mics I have. Starting a podcast and Amazon has amazing return policies that have helped me… financially lol if something doesn’t work out
Hi , I use this mixer and really enjoy it however I have one question.. I use an inner ear monitor that is hooked up the the phones jack .. I use some reverb while singing .. is there a way to cut the reverb out of my in ear mix without turning it off ?
Do the reverb from a effects plug in in your DAW instead. Otherwise, no. This is made for live performances really.
i went for the mg12xu for the faders, off buttons and 2 extra channels. Hopefully it'll become in good used lol
I thought about that too but realistically I’m never gonna use the extra channels so I went with the 10.
Hi. Is it good for dubing
Can I use something like this to record music? I have a Focusrite scarlet but just don’t like it 🤷♂️
Yes but you only get two channels. Left and right.
Is your voice on fast foreward? Or do you just have an unusual cadence?
If you're a musician or a beginning sound engineer, this is a good tool. But if you're just another twitch streamer that mostly want a mic to talk into, there are cheaper less complicated mixers.
Would you take this over the rcf
Is there a way to stop hearing my voice when talking on the mic ?
This seems like a great mixer but I think I've had two lemons in two weeks and Yamaha support isn't helping. The circuit board seems loose when you pull on the knobs near the lower left corner. I've returned the first one to the store and the 2nd one is a little worse. I've made a video for support, but they said it's normal. This can't be! Can you verify on yours, please?
@
Thanks!
Well designed, poorly made Chinese crap.
man this looks so complex lol. i liked the creative one but it doesnt have eq right?
The Creative Soundblaster K3+? That one doesn't have EQ settings built in.
@@TechSummitTV it has high and low adjustments
for under 50 bucks you can get a 4 out headphone amp and you can adjust the volume as you want.
I have this and its getting too hot while using.
Is it normal?
It's not the most pleasant thing about it, but it does have a very hot spot near the power switch.
@@TechSummitTV Thanks for replying.
So getting it to service centre will help ?
@@jhavinayak07 I think it's just an inherent issue with the product. More like down side rather than a defect. So I don't think the help center would help much.
@@TechSummitTV you have really placed your words so well.
Thanks for such a clear explanation.
Just a last question
In that case shall I use it continuously even if its get hot or we need to switch off give it rest and break on between
Thanks and God bless
@@jhavinayak07 Glad to help! And no, you can keep using it. I like to turn mine off only when I'm done using it.
You sound just like the dude on "Fast Times At Ridgemont High" that scalped concert tickets...lol
sabaa nimo oi
One major pro is that you can monitor "after" the DAW. (Final product) live via the USB IN from your computer and flipping a switch on the board.
As for more than one person monitoring, just hook it up to a 4 port headphone amp.
The downside is that you can only record two channels from it into the DAW. Left and right.
Why do you sound muffled?
shitty mic settings
All that gear and this kind of output hahaha
Molto professionale Suno brillante
It’s not for podcasting. It’s for live music
Huge audio issues impossible to hear what he is saying at least if you are over 40 😅
Just become an audio engineer bro 🤑
Im tempted to buy this, but i ended up buying Yamaha ago6….its simple and amazingly simple
You need a headphone amp.
people disliking cuz u didnt know something. smh
I wanted to watch this video but couldn't handle the extremely muffled sound. Sorry.
your voice sounds plastic and muffled with all the processing that you are doing. Kind of like bad auto tune!
