Thank you so much for being such a great resource of knowledge
Very detailed explanation. Great video.
Very good, simple clear top shelf balanced line out!
Love your vids, you leave no stone unturned!! Thank you!
Thanks for this high quality video. Well done
Just recently found your channel. LOVE IT
Thanks. I have the same board and have been wondering how to do this for a while now. Works great
I absolutely LOVE my iRig Stream device keep (1) one in my gig bag with me at ALL TIMES. I learned SO much in this video running USB out of my Mixers
How did you use your iRig to connect it to mixer and to phone?
The thoroughness of explanation is so appreciated. Superb video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@kettnercreative I really like the last section of the video where you have the focusrite with the mixer. I have a focusrite 6i6 2nd generation audio interface connected to my pc. I want to know if it is ok to connect my iphone to the back of the audio interface while the phantom power is on.
This is fantastic, thanks for making this.
Very good FINALLY been looking for a while!
Awesome tutorial. Thanks!
Best explanation ever! Great job!
Man your videos are so helpful and full of information. I am trying to stream with my alesis strike pro on my iPhone and I cannot figure it out. Do you have any videos on streaming and electric drum set through your iPhone?
Hello sir I am from India .i think you are the first person who describe this method very beautifully with accuracy..i am your big fan...
Seriously you solved the millions of people's queries...god bless you🤟
Absolutely amazing!
Perfect Video! I’m doing phone to TRRS to Mixer. At least until I get the iRig Stream Pro one day. Thanks for the confirmation that I’m doing it RIGHT! 😊
Best ever. Covered almost everything.
Solid video. I’m ready to step it up with sound quality.
Nice seeing (and hearing!) the awesome Neat King Bee II in this video. Just found your channel and am really enjoying it.
Awesome, thank you!
Wow amazing, I just pulled the trigger on this board and accessories, I will be updating you guys
Thank you for this useful video
I think your slightly longer hair gives a bit of hi-midrange rolloff to the show's audio. Kind of an "Inverse Shure" attenuator. Very pleasing to the ears..🙂
Very helpful video thank you so much 🎉
Thank you for the knowledge
Best channel on CZcams
Big ups! Downloaded the Open Camera app and setting the source fixed my audio input problem on my Android phone
Correct open camera app worked for me but only microphone works how to connect my guitar or keyboard sound to my phone?
Outstanding, thank you.
Hi! I'm thinking of buying a DAC to be able to hear music with MQA levels on my iPhone (using Tidal) any recommendations? I have a pair of DT 770 Pro 250 OHM and I think none of the DACs that I saw online will give me enough power. Should I just buy a different pair of headphones? Thank you!
Very helpful... thank you.
Já chego dando o like, from Brasil
🗣 THANKS THAT WAS AMAZING 💯/💯
Earned a sub. +like! Love it! Thank you!
Thanks for the sub!
Thank you very much for this tutorial ! One question : what should I do if I need to connect an audio interphase directly to iPhone and record video using the camera amp ? I’ve tried to record a guitar using such setup but my video has the sound only on one channel ( mono) . Is it possible to fix it ?
Great info in all your videos. I am having problems to connect normal earphones to phones out port on yamaha mg06x mixer. Is it even possible to connect normal earphones to monitor ? I want to hear complete mix of my vocals (Microphone input) + karaoke tracks (stereo inputs) through phones out port. How can I can hear the music, Sing along & hear the actual stereo out mix. Is this possible ? Can you Please explain this in a separate video ? I would highly appreciate that.
Hi, Thank you, great video! Question for Option 2: If I would like to use my signal from the phone as mono (eg. send metronome click to in-ear monitor mixer), at which point should I convert it and how? Or what is the best solution for this scenario? I would like to pan the click to my left ear. I use stereo bus mix for my ear phones.
I need to bring sounds from the mixer into the phone for a zoom meeting or a streamyard live stream. Is this possible? Which choice that you mention is best for this?
Now that we know how to get a direct line to the iPhone what is a good app for recording an instrument like a keyboard?
Thank you so much..
Thank you so much for taking the time to make this great video. Is it possible to stream your digital piano to the clubhouse and hear the the clubhouse as well, the main goal is that no one at home can hear your piano and you listen to the sound of your instrument and the sound of the clubhouse through headphones?
Kia ora Jordan, great presentation.
I went through this whole process last year during lockdown and discovered that the Apple Lightning input on my 13 Promax does not provide true stereo LR recorded audio. Panned music once recorded is reproduced in mono LR combined.
Can you confirm this from your observations?
I will try to do this, I feel like I can conect stereo monitor out to zoom h6 line in and from the zoom h6 mini usb to usb c to my phone, great video.
I have the great Yamaha MG10XU and would like to know how to RECORD to my iPhone. I already have Yamaha’s MG REC & PLAY app installed.
Thanks!
Thank you so much
Hey there, tried option one (mixer to phone) using the specific components you suggested. No luck unfortunately for my purposes.
Why my phone samsung s22 not recording loud when I connect mixer( Yamaha ) from the USB connector to my phone type c. Please can you solve the problem.??
I have a question … i have a rc 505 mk2 loop station which i connect to my macbook and to use a daw on it. I would like to get the audio directly to the iphone though… is there a way i could do the usb connection like you showed in option 2 ? The rc 505 only has 1 usb dock though so I am not sure how this could work…
For the Audio Interface option at the end, would it be possible to get the sound from your powered usb hub to your phone AND computer simultaneously?
Also, if you had a trrs to trrs cable and an adapter (1/8th inch to 1/4), could you use a headphone out to get your sound into your phone for a video camera app?
hey kettner creative...! I was wondering if you can connect a tablet to a yamaha ag03 mixing console with just a micro usb cable alone since I just want to power it up and keep it going on the battery would this be the best way to do this. Or do you still need an adaptor to run this for power. I mostly just want to run it bus powered for music is this the best way? smiles...!!
Outstanding video. Thanks! I have two questions about connecting an Android to mixer please.
1) I actually have a 3.5mm mic input on my mixer. Could I simply run a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from the TRRS adapter from my Android to the mic input on my mixer?
2) Can the TRRS adapter be connected to a 3.5mm to RCA adapter cable so I could connect to the RCA inputs on the mixer?
I hope I didn't ask too many questions LOL. Thanks again for the extremely detailed video. Very helpful. Take care.
Hello Sir. Great video. Question for anyone: I’d like to use my iPhone as an audio source, so I need a TRRS adapter, yes? Cool. But how do I charge my iPhone ensuring it doesn’t die mid way through the event? Thank you all.
Tom.
Hi quick question i have a live looper app on my ipad and would like to hook it up to my dj mixer and do live scratch looping , i have an ipad 9th gen so have head phone jack , i need to from my mixer to ipad and then from ipad to my pc which is hooked up to speakers , which is the best option for me i dont have a mixing desk mixer just my dj setup . If i get thunderbolt to mic will it act like a line in and if it does will the headphone jack work as line out still ?
Hello Sir
Thanks for your helpful video.
I have a question:
For second method (mixer to phone/ Audio Mixer USB Output you offered a USB C camera adapter which doesn't have options to simultaneously charger port as well. Can you recommend a one with such an option.
I had exactly the same question!!!
Hey there, amazing video. I was wondering whether you have a link for a similar lighting to camera adaptor for a USBC i.e. it also has the charge point. Ive searched eveywhere and cannot find one.
I would also LOVE a video which shows 2 phones connected, i.e. phone sound IN, and then stereo phone OUT. Would be great to see the combined set up.
Good timing, I'm working on a new video right now. You can use the Belkin USB-C Splitter. It will charge and give you a USB-C input. currentprice.io/usbc-split
what cable should I use if I want to connect the IringStream to the mixer for distance longer than 10ft?
Can you connect guitar pedals through the mics to the phone?
Thanks. A very informative video. I have a very similar mixer to you, the MG12XU. Just one question - if I use the camera adaptor with my iPhone is it possible to connect the output from the mixer to the phone and using the other lightning port the outpput from the phone to a line-in input on my mixer at the same time? I want to get callers into my radio show and for them to hear the monitor output and converse with them via a mic plugged into my mixer.
The last time I tested it, the camera adapter will only let you charge through the other lightning port.
OK thanks. Is there another way I can achieve similtanious two way operation then ?@@kettnercreative
That was A very clear precise video Thank you. Question :- How would you suggest, connecting mixer output to Phone input, for recording, over 10 feet?
Mixer output > DI Box > iRig > Phone
Is it a stereo sound result that will cameout to phone? example on tiktok live singing? Coz i don't want it mono
I seem to have a problem with the pro movie app not connecting to my audio interface adapter. I’ve hooked up everything as you said using my interface like the Irig stream you have to my iPhone and installed the app, but it doesn’t seem to show up in the app. The interface I use is a Saramonic SR-AX101 Device. I also have the BeachTek DXA-2T which is similar to the Saramonic Device. I use both of them to 2 of my canon cameras to the mixing board and it works perfectly fine. Not sure why it’s not connected or showing up on the app. Would these 2 devices work with the pro movie app or do you have any suggestions. Thanks
At time stamp 9:11 you use the steps. The only issue is what software collects the sound? Zoom meetings just use the default sound. How can I change my mixer as a choice on my phone?
Can i use the Mackie MDB-2P Stereo Passive Direct Box instead of the Radial Pro D2? Is it going to be the same output?
Hi, with all these steps if I have Bluetooth mixer should I use that option instead? Is there a reason why I should not use Bluetooth for the setup? Thank you and excuse me if my questions are silly. Very new to all this and learning as a hobby
can you use that set to talk and receive calls
Hey! I bough the item you used to connect mgx10 , scarlet 2!2 and iPhone but it seems not working to me I am not sure why the USB hub is not powering a Scarlett 2!2 2nd generation. Any idea how I can make this work?
If I am using a StudioLive Ar 16 USB mixer, can I just go straight from the usb output of the mixer to my android phone? Seems like this should work. I would still use monitor 1 on my mixer to better control volume.
what kind of software that i need to download to check if the mixer is connected to iphone? thanks!
Hello from Crete Greece. I notice that right after the phone adapter you plugged a trs plug, although you say it is a trrs adapter.
Why don't you use a TRRS splitter, to trs phone and trs mic?
The RCA output also works with TRS Cable
Hi there! Can you make video of set up for TikTok so you can hear both way and I want to play music from iPad through iPhone thank you.
does this work for taking and making calls on live radio?
They have the pro movie recorder app and just the pro movie app, which one of the two please?
Hello mate, at 13:37 why using unbalanced cables going out from the mixer to the RCA input of the irig? Why not going balanced to RCA since the Montero out supports Balanced cables
Thanks and sorry for the confusion
Great vidio! So i have the Behringer Xenyx QX2222USB... My question is, I want to record our jam sessions via video on my Android S23ultra... All I need to do is plug my phone USB C into the the mixer USB B in the back... Obviously mics into the mixer channels to record the audio... Not sure if this is a question or im asking if I'm doing this correctly?
Thank you...
Hi, great video. When I try mixer USB out to USB-C in on android device, I can hear mic loud and clear and music from backing track loud in headphones. but, when record video on the device, the mic volume is fine but music is barely heard?
I was looking for a recommendation on how to connect my iPad Pro to my mixer and out to my speakers. I have watched several of your videos and have not seen this connection yet only in the opposite direction. I have tried to do this connection with a regular iPad Pro adapter and found that the adapter would get hot and eventually stop sending any audio to the mixer.
It's exactly the same as the phone. You can either use the headphone output or the USBC method.
Cool! I use a Focusrite pro 40 for 8ch studio sound (full drum kit +) and a Roland GO mixer to stream audio via USB to my Android 10 phone. (stereo out via my 16ch mixer). The problem is.. The limiter on the Go mixer, and bandwidth the phone can handle, esp for live streaming. It's super hard to dial in a full sound, I have to roll off bass a lot, and turn up mids tops. It's kinda weird to do this, and very hit n miss. I'll try a direct cable connex, but line to mic level probably is worse. Tried the irig too, about the same deal. The smaller 2ch Focusrite interface might actually work for me, given that the pro40 is optical out only. So frustrating!
Thank you! Because of this tutorial, I can now connect my audio mixer directly to phone during live for better sound quality. I just encountered a problem that music connected to mixer via bluetooth cannot be heard on the live. How can I solve this issue?
i have a helicon runs into the mixer giving me 2 usbs .what adapters do i need to record on bandlab please and thank you
Can I guess the next video - “Connect Focusrite audio interface to Phone (both ways)”, waiting for that, as always, very helpful video Jordan, thanks very much!
Aha, it's actually not on the list. But you're right - That's normally how I'd do it aha.
I'll probably make a generic "Connect Audio Interface To Phone (Both Ways!)" soon-ish.
@@kettnercreative Please consider making a video connecting audio interface as you mentioned, I am sure there will enough audience for that as well!
Yeah, I'll add it to my list. Hopefully next week!
Can i use this to record songs on starmaker app on my phone
How did you get sound out of the mixer? I didn't see any xlr or 1/4 " connections to go to speakers
This is an awesome video as I was trying something similar and couldn't get it to work.
I have a couple of questions though. I am steaming using an android phone on CZcams.
1. Considering my phone is far (about 100 feet) from the audio mixer (same Yamaha model) what cable would you recommend. The USB interface? Is there a way to do Bluetooth maybe using a Bluetooth transmitter out of the audio mixer?
2. Do I need any special apps like you demonstrated on the iPhone or will the phone pick it automatically?
did you find a way to use bluetooth that would help me a lot
Where can I find the app? I just want to make sure I download the right one
I have a zoom l8 and a android what interface can I use I'm currently going from a headphone to dongel to phone the signal is clipping way to much .any ideas ?
This is great. I was told that you have to plug lightning into the adapter and connect to wall outlet. You mentioned it is for extra charging. Now i am confused
Finally, I was waiting for this.
Using a Mixer, connected to a phone for live streaming via phone, which mixer do you recommend please!! Yamaha mg10xuf or Mackie fx12 V3.
Thank you 💕
In terms of preamps noise, clarity, connectivity.
I would go with the Yamaha. Another viewer commented with some usb issues with the Mackie. The 4 USB inputs, are seemingly out of order to what a phone can actually send. So you're best with a 2/2USB mixer like the Yamaha.
@@kettnercreative correct, but also many people are complaining about the USB signal on the Yamaha being weak on computers. Will this issue be also applied when using a phone??
Basically, I'm a guitarist (classical guitar) directly playing through condenser microphone. Also I'm a singer (also using condenser microphone). Also I have one guitar reverb pedal. Also, sometimes I like to play background music from a phone and then play over it when stream. That's it
I want to live stream on Instagram, CZcams etc USING ONLY my iphone. Where I can just apply all my settings on the mixer and stream right away with no post production.
Which mixer is the best in terms of mic preamps (noise, quality, clarity) connectivity to the phone, the ability to Hook up my pedal and the ability to transfer all the EQs and effects to my phone live stream in Stereo Mode.
Sorry for the inconvenience 🌹
@@melodology-5383 The complaint against Yamaha is largely mis-understood. Basically, because it's a hybrid device there is a 12dB offset from the analog meter to the USB output. If you're using the USB output, you just need to push the output harder.
Can I use a 4 Channel Audio Interface Usb Mixer Board?
i have query :- what if i connect iphone se 2020 to 2 channel audio mixer (Teyun Q12) with OTG adapter? its works or i have to looking for something else?
I have below assets
Mic : Maono PD100 XLR mic
Audio Interface :- Teyun Q12
so what i can do for best audio recording?
i have question, how to send audio from mixer to smartphone via wireless(not wired) to recording/live streaming
Link for the pro camera app there are more then one in the app store
Great video, well done! How can I send stereo audio FROM my mixer USB port into my Android phone & include it in my live phone video?
Typicall you just connect the usb cable to your phone and it will use it by default.
I have a scarlet 2!2 that has USB type B but it seems like it’s not getting power from USB hub atolla usb 3.0 hub
What is the best way to use my studio monitors separate from iRig being hookup to my phone.
I want to be able to have my iPhone on TikTok and my studio monitor separate, so that I want adjust the volume on my Tik Tok when turning up my studio monitors. Please help
I used a USB output cord and using ProMovie but the sound was incredibly quiet. Do you know why?
hi . could you show us how to connect an EQ to the mixer ? prefadet and postfadet . Thanx
We've been wanting to do a video on external compressors and EQs for a while now, but the reality is that they barely make/sell them anymore. Almost everything new is digital and for the price of an external EQ, you can upgrade your mixer to something with much more powerful tools built in (Rodecaster Pro, QU16, etc.).
nice
Your video was fantastic and because of you I was able to create video on my Android phone using your recommended connections out from my external mixer into my phone (using Open Camera). My vocals, guitar, and backing tracks recorded so well.
Here’s a question for you. I realize it’s beyond the purpose of your video here , but doesn’t hurt to ask. I uploaded the resulting video I created to CZcams. When i played it on my flat screen with 5.1, it only played on my 2 front speakers. I understand CZcams solely supports 2 channel and not legit surround sound, but many videos I watch do play on my rear as well as front speakers. Haven’t figured out why the vid I created only play on the front 2. Do you have any experience with this by chance? Thanks in advance from your new subscriber. 👍
I’m not sure why that is, I would have to look into it
@@kettnercreative Thought this update may be of interest. I was able to isolate it to the Open Camera app at least. Within Video Settings / Audio Channels, I had it set originally to Stereo and that results in output to the 2 front speakers only. It seems like Default assigns it to mono and while I can hear output in the rear speakers too, the volume is very low and possibly a little distorted if I don’t find something in the Open Camera help files, I’m hoping they have a customer support are who can take a phone call. Maybe it’s a Video Format selection thing. I have it set to default, but there are other choices like mpeg4, 3gpp.
id like to connect my phone and my pc to a audio mixer and then connect my headset to both at the same time over the mixer, is that possible?
Does this work like for zoom calls?
