Are you kidding? Anybody? You mean at 155, right? Even then, people thought Rousey was unbeatable, but she was very beatable. Khabib is a higher evolution than Rousey, but he is still one dimensional. Ground is very powerful so that in and of itself makes Khabib tough. I think Charles could beat Khabib. Charles' striking is by far superior, and he is good enough on the ground to slow Khabib down. Charles beat both Poirier and Gaethje quite a bit faster than Khabib did. Charles has a very good chance.

He literally went through them like they were just amateurs unlike oliviera that was knocked down thrice by porier and twice by Justin. If only they have a solid ground game they would’ve gotten the finish.
But With Khabib they just seem clueless, hopeless. They were just there but they had no idea how to neutralize him unlike with Oliveira where there is probable way of taken him out by KO.

He has had some decent strikes but he is sloppy. He has very little chance on his feet against Charles. I think Khabib would probably win but Charles is very dangerous.

Khabib protects himself at all times, never been dropped, his fighting iq is level higher than anyone, he never got a beating from anyone, it's impossible for any other fighter, win or lose
He is vulnerable to guillotines and flying knees because he puts his head on his opponent when he goes for takedowns or trips. Charles is way more slippery than anyone he has faced in the UFC. Khabib's level changes are lightning quick. Hard to stop even when everyone knows what is coming.
Khabib also is poor when pressured backwards .Charles pressuring him like he did Gaetje would end the same way he ended Gaetje … fast.

But thing is, no one really was able to control or put Khabib into real trouble on the ground because Khabib puts on like a Charlie Olives-esque pace from his back. He's pretty aggressive off of his back (watch when Trujillo took him down)

@@munglangel9251 Khamzat's and Khabib's grappling aren't the same at all. Khabib is a combat sambo practitioner while Khamzat is a freestyle wrestler. Combat sambo is much more useful for top control, ground and pound, and submissions that freestyle wrestling is.

Oliveira is a good fighter, but Khabib is another level. I think Islam Makhachev will be able to defeat Oliveira, and Khabib even more so. By the way, Javier Mendez said that Islam has never won a sparring with Khabib during his entire stay in AKA. This speaks volumes

Fighters know fighters and these two are the for me to be the most best and most rounded fighters in their respective divisions (not dissing adesanya or Holloway btw).

RDA is not a more well-rounded fighter than Oliveira is mate. Oliveira's Muay Thai is far more technical and his wrestling ability is slightly better. And degree of black belt means virtually nothing. RDA has 4 submission victories in the UFC and was recently submitted by Cowboy in a grappling match, while Oliveira has the record for most submissions in UFC history. Even RDA would agree that Oliveira is a much more dangerous submission threat than himself

Sambo doesn't skip over anything. It covers the wrestling, it covers the Judo (your foot sweeps, hip tosses, etc), and it covers your ne-waza (ground techniques/BJJ/Judo parenthood to modern BJJ). Khabib couldn't win a BJJ tournament at the level of say Roger Gracie, Marcelo Garcia, Andre Galvao, etc. However, he's as good as is applicable in MMA. The thing is, he's better at wrestling and Judo than most BJJ purists in MMA, AND he absolutely knows when just smashing is more efficient and effective than trying to advance or finish with a submission. He is why they say top position is ABSOLUTELY the better place to be. Because you can always use your "ground and pound" to advance or even open up a submission.

I think the idea to compare khabib with others is simply favouring someone as well as simply unfair, becoming champion is easy but maintaining championship is totally different, until his retirement he not only maintained that level ,he enhanced that level as well as shifted his game to another level, the best there was, the best there is and the best khabib will be. Great example but this man isn’t the same. Something in him has changed. He’s young and only getting better. Khabib has never faced a serious grappler in his career. He’s mostly face strikers. Charles Oliveira has 16 submissions in the UFC and Khabib has only 5.

@@seanc7990 he’s not the same guy bud. You can’t keep looking at those losses. Oliveira has fought a more complex competition than Khabib has fought. Khabib didn’t fight that man grapplers in his career in the ufc. Oliveira has. Oliveira has finished Dustin faster then Khabib.
Khabib is a better wrestler and overall grappler than Oliviera and defends himself better during striking exchanges where Olives gets hit a lot.
Remember that grappling is not just pulling off submissions which Charles is known for. It includes the ability to ground and pound, control your opponent on the ground, defend submissions (Olives has been submitted many times while Khabib never was), utilizing the cage, takedown offense and defense. Khabib has the upper hand in most of those areas which makes him a better overall grappler.
problem is khabib was too comfortable against strikers and he was giving his neck without a problem for gain position advtange. Against oliviera, he has to leave his comfort zone. He has to make changes on his style and it is not easy. İ dont think khabib would take risk to fight him with same style like he fought against other guys. There are too much risks. Charles is clearly better striker and charles is too technical to get controlled for 5 minutes in round. He would scramble and back on his feet or there is huge chance he can catch khabib with a sub,. More time on ground and more risk for khabib, even though he is himself great grappler. Charles still better submission artist.

As a life long grappler myself, I genuinely think Charles could’ve beat Khabib. And don’t disrespect the man he’s on a 10 fight win streak khabib was on like 12 in the ufc. So they’re both all time greats. Charles has more submissions than anyone in the history of the ufc he has more finishes than anyone in the ufc. Khabib never fought a decent grappler during his title reign. Dustin Conor Justin. They were all strikers trying to keep the fight standing. Totally agree with Volk that Oliveira's best chance to win is to wrap something up while Khabib's taking him down (from what we've seen so far; Khabib's only real vulnerable grappling point is that sometimes he'll leave his neck out for the grabs, specifically when he goes for traditional US style doubles or singles). I can understand the points on both sides. Khabib really was very dominant in his time, having retired undefeated, without any defeat (although the fight against Gleison Tibau was controversial), Khabib never even bled, a real monster.
But I also understand that for some people Khabib should have done some things that were missing, like defending the belt more times, moving up in the division to face other good fighters in the upper division.
And I also understand the point of those who defend Oliveira, his technique in BJJ is unparalleled, he has a high level strike and also has an incredible history of overcoming.

Taking out Gaethje does not change anything about how I think a fight with Khabib goes. If they were to grapple, it would for sure be interesting but his best chance would be on the feet. Guess we'll never know until Khabib somehow returns. Maybe if Olievera continues to defend his title and goes on an impressive streak, it might be enough, but knowing Khabib and his loyalty to his mother, I don't think we'll ever see him compete again.

problem is khabib was too comfortable against strikers and he was giving his neck without a problem for gain position advtange. Against oliviera, he have to leave his comfort zone. He have to make changes on his style and it is not easy. İ dont think khabib would take risk to fight him with same style like he fought against other guys. There are too much risk.
