Khabib is something beyond his techniques. I think Khabib's biggest strength is his awareness of the situation and how he keep himself according to the situation. So you can't see if anyone beats Islam he also can beat Khabib.
That on top of his insane ground game,and decent standup it's over,imo his stand up is nowhere near as bad as they say it was,and more times then not he would beat charles somewhat easily

I think it's stupid to say that if Charles beats Islam he can beat Khabib, yes they do have similarities but they also have many big differences.
Khabib's fighting style was much more aggressive and his pressure was a big part of his game, while Islam is a bit more cautious and methodical with his approach. Due to that pressure Khabib also made more use of the fence in his control and takedowns, he seems to have a more developed game there compared to Islam who has shown some limits in that area against Moises. On the ground as well, Khabib uses more ground n pound and a more ferocious way of control, while Islam is more about slowly establishing control then advancing position.
Most importantly those differences also come from how they are different in personality, their mentality, which is a big factor in fighting. Khabib is a more firy individual and has a stronger presence while Islam is a calmer more subdued person which shows in both their fighting styles. It's all related as well to Khabib being fearless and fighting that way due to him being undefeated, as opposed to Islam losing and having to recover from that. Which brings us to their chin and their ability to take damage, and it's clear that Khabib is much stronger than Islam in that area.
Long story short i think the comparisons are overstated, they do have some similar attributes but they are still very different.

Robert says chess match but olivera usually just walks you down like a berserker. Idk if he's gonna change his style when he's been killing people like he has.
He's been going up against fighters that you need to walk down to beat. Dustin, Justin and Chandler, three fighters that lose their momentum when their opponent walks them down. Them three easily beat fighters that try and play a smart and tactical way.
Khabib did the same thing to Dustin and Justin, immediately started to walk them down and didn't care about their striking abilities, because he knew once it went to the ground it was over, Charles had the same mindset against them too except his striking is just better than khabib so he had no fear in striking with them too, but at the end of the day Charles ended those fights the same way khabib did, with a submission.
Islam is a different situation though, he's not like Justin and Dustin who rely on their Striking, so Charles has to fight smarter against someone who's got elite level of grappling and submission skills like Islam does.

Charles and Islam have both been finished inside the cage. Why focus on Islam’s ability to take a good shot due to his KO from several years ago w/o also considering the same for Charles? Not only has Oliveira been KO’d, but he gets rocked badly in many of his more recent fights. If Charles is such a different fighter today than back when he was losing fights, we need to grant Islam that same consideration.

Well this debate closed. Charles amazing skilled fighter but there's no skill against Khabib style. Don't think there's a human who likes to get punched in the face, has amazing strength genetically, determination like no one else and can suffer thro cutting weight to 155 when his walking weight probably closer to 200 then 150. People would argue about punchers chance but this style minimises the chance to even get scratched let alone rocket. 99.99% you just gonna get beaten up on the ground or tap if you don't wanna get CTE way too early.
