      Charles is the Goat.
      1. Charles have more submission wins in UFC than khabib has total fights in the UFC.
      2. Charles finished every top opponent that Khabib faced, in a faster and more dominating fashion.
      3. Charles dropped the most dangerous striker with bombs, Justin before finishing him which khabib could never do in his lifetime no matter how much he try.

What Chael said about Khabib was really interesting, he said “ Khabib never showed us how good he was, he showed us how better he was than the other fighters” that describes why many people, including me sometimes, that would hesitate about Khabib winning his next fight due to “Khabib’s next fighter is the real challenge” and this stuff. So many valid points. I also think as a huge Khabib fan it wasn't just his resume or title defenses of why I have him as the goat, similar to Muhammad Ali, its how he behaved, how he led, never bled, never got knocked down, always did things his way, never needed the antics to sell fights or cause problems, was always loyal to his team, beat Conor and literally went after the whole team who disrespected him, got suspended and left the money unless the UFC allowed his friends/brothers to continue to fight as well, his admiration for his parents, his religion, he truly was an anomaly. Everything he said he wanted to do, he did. He said he would smash people, he did. he said he would make people tap and talk to them in the octagon, he did. And is the only fighter to be so respected by his peers and kids actually look up to him as a role model. A true Goat

For me the goat argument always comes down to perfection as a fighter. The fighter that presents a style tht can dominate every other style without question. That is Khabib. Idc who you put him up against his style is flawless. He goes in, puts immense pressure on his opponent, takes them down and smashes their face in until they give up an easy submission. Olivera is one of the greats without a doubt, but his style is not nearly as dominant or flawless as the eagle.

The thing about Charles' losses are that most of them were at 145. If we're talking about the 155 GOAT, we should consider only their matches at 155. Charles is 23-3, and Khabib is 18-0. He fought strikers that were terrified of his takedowns. His next step would be to fight the up and coming grapplers at lightweight or move up to 170. One aspect that has to be considered is the quality of opponents Charles has beaten - Tony Ferguson, Michael Chandler, Dustin Poirier, and Justin Gaethje. Also, the 8 losses cover his fights at featherweight as well as lightweight. Truth be told, if Charles wins against Islam and then perhaps beats Conor (Let's face it, we know Conor will fight for the title), he does unseat Khabib as the LW GOAT in my opinion.
Personally, I like Charles' story more because it clearly shows someone who has almost risen from the ashes like a phoenix. When you see someone face a lot of adversity and then come out on top, it makes you appreciate them more.
Oh and don't forget that we could see Charles v Volk some day too. That will be one hell of a fight but Charles beats Volk in my opinion.
