  • To respond effectively to climate risks, nations must use a combination of mitigation (measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions) and adaptation (measures to minimise negative outcomes from climate impacts). Little research to date has focused on integrating climate adaptation and mitigation policies to enhance the UK’s preparedness to extreme heat risks. While the UK is about to head into winter, the time to plan for extreme heat next summer is now. Dr Candice Howarth provides an overview of a developing framework that addresses the question: how can we keep Britain cool during extreme heat events without increasing greenhouse gas emissions?

Very good lecture and an important one. Keep up the good work as best you can amidst government friction.

you're actually moving heat with HVAC, not cooling. so the activity does not have a high-thermal effect.

Truth and prudence have nothing to do with risk. Trying to get people to make irrational decisions out of fear and uncertainty only leads to harm. This fraud must not continue.

people will do anything else but geoengineering.

Maybe we can help climate change buy not importing 500,000+ migrants every year which requires more land-clearing, food production, energy production, traffic pollution and green space reduction. Don't let academics trick you into believing a few wind farms will solve everything. The problem goes MUCH deeper than just fossil fuel, but they are too politically-correct to admit it.
