Thanks so much for your input. You got me to thinking because so many other videos on this subject say to dust first (would if the walls weren't sticky) then use a magic eraser or 3 parts of different solutions, even a mop with soapy solution - ok I guess if you have great paint with a glossy finish, don't know. But so true about the residential paint that will come off with any amount of water / detergent solution. (For now, have to grow where we were planted.) We have flat paint - ivory, kind of - in the bathroom (matte) and, like you said, it was pretty much sticky to the touch on the top half. (Been waiting for the landlord to fix our vent for months.) I used Clorox wipes - amazing! Clean and smooth. Then put a heavy face cloth on my swiffer to completely and uniformly dry. Because of the alcohol in the wipes, it was pretty much dry anyway and didn't have to put any sponge to the wall. Thanks, again. Hope you disregard any negative comments - you helped me "understand the logic," which is very important.
Sorry, but I haven't found ANY good videos for this. One lady wiped down her wall outlets, which I remove and run through the dishwasher. Using a sponge or rag takes FOREVER, and it's easy to miss spots. I am using a firm sponge mop, with a bucket of hot water and some all purpose cleaner. If anything is left, I'll check to see if it might need something like alcohol to remove it.
I have washed my walls with Meyers all purpose cleaning amd my walls are perfect. I have had thr same paint on my walls for the last 8 years + yes 8years+ . Buy good paint
my in laws house had it first painting in 2006. after 15 years in 2019, the house painted not because paint was dull but for our marriage ceremony. That's true, the old paint didn't became dull. So, buy good paint and hire an expert painter thus your house stays new for ages
Yeah, watching the way this guy washed a wall, I'm thinking a greasy kitchen wall would not respond to this level of cleaning. Also, if you follow this advice to use a mild detergent and then wipe down with a dry cloth like he says, how does the detergent get removed from the wall?
The more I watch home improvement and general home construction videos the more I realize how disposable, temporary, fragile and low quality today's dwellings are. Like if the materials available to most people are purposely made affordable and available in mass quantities, not to benefit the occupants and their health and safety. They're made with these weak and toxic materials for quick and easy disposal. Once they need the ground where these so called homes stand they just wipe them away and you'll never know a family's home or a whole neighborhood once stood there. Stone age humans were safer at home than us modern "advanced " humans. And also all materials used to build today's homes cause cancer and birth defects. Literally every single material even the wood 😅 someone really wants humans gone, or atleast Americans anyway.
@Norma Jean There WAS a time, esp. the 50s & 60s that people on a regular basis DID wash their walls with a sort of paste, and I remember seeing people do that. HOWEVER, until I bumped into this video, I thought that was long gone. WHO in the heck washes their walls today?????

Hi. Can I use a flat mopping tool with microfiber rag on it to wash the wall surface, instead of using a sponge? Thanks
No help. I want to wash the entire wall and ceiling. This was just a commercial
No mention of TSP? I thought that was the typical way for a painter to prep a wall

I dont see how this can wash off serious dirt
Thank you for sharing your experience.
How do you do 8' walls
What about latex white paint walls and baseboards...paint fades or peels..what can I use?
What if the walls are heavily soiled, textured, and dogs cages are in that area and it's kitchen walls
What about when you have the entire house walls to clean that seems alot of time which I don't have.
One room a week!
Great sharing, brother! Thank you.
I’ve rewound the first 11 seconds so many times I still don’t know how to clean my walls.
