The answer is @ the 1:40mark...you're welcome 😊
Um no. The part before is also helpful.
1:27!
Thank u!!!!
Damn thank you
@@Patrice1602 So don't buy Duck Clean Release. My walls r ruined and they weren't even a year old. I'm really upset because we hired a pro and they used speciality paint aka big bucks. I'm crushed, like I did a few touch ups where I could and painted on the color. It looks chunky and awful. Yes, I did contact Duck. No, I have not heard back.
THANK YOU!!! The information you gave helped my project have REALLY clear crisp lines and none of the paint peeled off when removing the tape. Pulled it off slowly and away from the paint. We are VERY HAPPY with the results!
Thanks, I was going to ask about multiple coats, but you answered my question. GREAT STUFF.
Thank you so much! Just finished painting my baseboards and went directly to you video.
Just did our washroom with this advice, it works great! On my last layer is split the washroom in 4, after painting your first area remove the tape then move on to the next part. This takes some time make sure the room temp not too hot so you can take your time.
Grat set of videos! As an 'amateur' who has painted for years I still make the odd mistake. I pull up the tape after a couple minutes for the reason cited. ALSO...easy to clean up an error in a couple seconds with minimal effort before the paint had dried completely....in addition my paint can is still open and paint brush handy to touch it up if necessary.
Love your videos they are simple and easy to understand
Great advice I love your passion to teach !!!
Big shout out from Shady Side Md
Excellent info ! Thank You
It also depends on the sheen of the paint. I rarely have any problems with the tape pulling flat paint off the walls, I think maybe it is more brittle? Matte can often be okay too, beyond that though I either take it off promptly or score it before pulling it off.
Yepie once the paint has been put on remove tape immeadiately no waiting..
Thank you I always have this problem.
Thank you. I just experienced the frustration as I removed the tape from the crown molding. UGH!
Great video!
Did he just say hi my name is idabadulabdadabbado.
That was the best explanation to my question, (when is the best time to remove Masking Tape)
So wish I saw this before I painted
Trust me, listen to this guy. I waited a day to remove the tape. What a mess!!,
Do you mean right after cutting in the last coat because the paint I use dries very fast so by the time I start the second wall the fist wall would already be dry.
Who else rewinded this video at least 20x to try and figure out what he said his name was?!
I think he said "Emil Boudreau".
Ehmmshsjskdhsh
Ridiculous. I clearly heard that his name is Ughmmyloulou.
😂😂😂😂
Is there a lot of pressure needed when applying the tape..........in instance, I will tape the wall so I can paint the base boards. thanks.
Thanks Einstein. How about if you have to do multiple trim costs smfh
Kia Ora & Good Evening from North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand ...great video bro.
What if im priming first then actually painting after? Do I have to put painters tape on again? Lol.
So after you finish your accent wall and need to use tape on the wall you just painted in order to achieve a crisp separation of the new color when is it safe to tape off a fresh wall?
I give it at least 24 hours.
I am home owner and i was painting ceiling and i put the blue tape so i dont paint walls guess what i took off the tape i left it there for 2 days it left like shark teeth all over
This video is helping now i know when to remove it and job was much better after this video. Thank you for your helpful video.5 star ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Thanks for the tip and I do try to wait about an hour tops, before removing the tape and doing it towards the painted area with a slow even pull. Now could you name the high quality tape you mentioned that will leave a crisp even line between the fresh paint and the area already painted? Thanks.
Tesa precision tape is very good - yellow in colour 👌🏻
I dont even two coat the wall near the baseboards/trim. If i have to two coat a room, i stay 1/4 inch or so away from the baseboards and trim with the roller on the first coat. Second coat, i do one wall at a time, then come back and cut in where its taped and remove the tape as i go while the paint it wet before moving to the next wall. Never had an issue. The area where i only one coated, you cant even tell it was only hit once.
Geometric pattern (close to 100 polygons) on a 10' x 15' (W x H) wall, six colors, one color at a time, three coats. Using Yellow Frog Tape. Need to decide when to remove the YFT. It takes about 45 minutes to paint all the polygons of a specific color, so say 4 1/2 hours to finish the whole wall third coat. Then I remove the YFT. Another option for the third coat, is to paint one polygon of color A and it's three neighbor polygons (those with common YFT with "color A" polygon) each their own specific color (B, C and D say) and then, using a straight razor blade as a stopper, remove the YFT around the "color A" polygon and proceed in the same manner with the other polygons, one by one. I will start with the first option, removing it all at once after the third coat is complete on all the polygons. Some will have had about 4 hours to dry and others less than 45 minutes, but the YFT is quite thin and I will pull at a 45 degree angle, so it might work. If not, option 2.
I removed the Yellow Frog Tape approximately 4 1/2 hours after starting to paint the third and final coat. The resulting lines were perfect. I also have just finished a larger wall, same geometric patterns but with 8 colors. Took 7 1/2 hours to apply the third coat and removed the Yellow Frog Tape (this took 1 1/2 hours) with the same resulting perfect laser lines. IMHO the Yellow Frog Tape is superior for this type of work than the thicker Green Frog Tape.
Did he say "licensed" painter at the beginning?
how long should i wait to do the second coat
grace brown ...the can will tell you...
👍
Sorry I didn't catch your name...
what about removing all masking and tape when spraying the whole house and everything is wet?
Big no no
Wait for it to dry
How long to wait in between 1st and 2nd coat?
i think you don't need to wait
What was your name again.
Najajwsbssjjwjz I heard. Lol
If you use auto captions his name is apparently ‘Lou Monville’, but the internet seems to think his name is Remi.
There is tape and there is tape. A lot depends on the quality. Some tape really is useless.
So how do you remove the tape when it's been on for 4 days with 3 coats of dried on paint without using a razor
thats my question also.
@@marcguillon2240 I figured it out and when you pull it away pull downward pulling at a 45 angle worked several times when I had those issues from clients painting but left tape on for years or months. Or when my crew and i would miss or forget to peal the tape right after painting
@@btrim1974 thanks @btrim1974. i will give that a try. i also have issues with paint runs/sagging on the cabinet boxes. using a graco trucoat sprayer on the low setting. any tips or ideas how to prevent the paint runs?
@@marcguillon2240 how close are you spraying to the cabinets? Might have to back your distance up and spray a little quicker and don't use any latex paint extenders. Could also be the paint your using turn up the psi a tad . Even could be a bad tip what size are you using
Heat gun😊
