Perfect timing on the new video pan, we actually have sunshine this week here in the UK. Great tip as well for applying a sealant to the paint before giving it a coat of wax. Wouldn’t have given it any thought. It’s normally cleaned, glazed and then sealed and that’s my lot. Going to give your tip a try tomorrow and wax it after I have got some sealant down. 👍

So I used a bunch of your suggestions and recommended products... I bought the soap the IPA prep the paint sealant and the liquid wax! I spent quite a few hours working on my 2018 M550i! Turned out fantastic!!! As soon as the sealant went on and buffed off I could tell the paint was like glass the wax just locked it in! I’m going to keep up this routine but this is got me thinking about maybe trying to do my own ceramic job! Thanks Pan!

You are AWESOME ! I am sooooooooooooooo intimidated by all of the products and tools. Two quick questions: what is the difference between waxing your car and polishing it? Also, I bought a DA to remove the wax. I must put too much on and it was extremely difficult to remove it so I thought the DA "buffs" the wax.

    • @PanTheOrganizer
      @PanTheOrganizer  Před 5 lety +9

Polishing the paint if removing defects such as scratches and swirls, remove oxidation, and restore depth and gloss to the paintwork. That’s why they call polishing “paint correction” because you correct paint.
In polishing, they have two categories: compounds and polishes. Compounds are for bigger and deeper scratches and polishes are the finishing stages of paint correction to improve clarity and gloss.
Once you’re done polishing, you now have to protect the paintwork by using your choice of a wax, paint sealant or ceramic coating.
Remove waxes by hand buffing, not machine polishing. If you find it hard to remove, you’re either putting way too much wax on or using a cheap wax.
I hope that answers your questions.

Hi Pan, I found your video when I went looking for help waxing a vehicle. I think I've been applying my liquid wax too thick, because it still looks streaky after I've tried to wipe off the dry wax. Thanks for the info, and thanks for the product suggestions.
I hope you can answer some questions:
    1. How heavy is the mechanical waxer? Is it hard to hold for long periods of time?
    2. Will this work on my fiberglass RV? It's older and not painted like a car. It has peeling decals on aging whitish fiberglass. Would a paint sealant even work on unpainted fiberglass?
    3. I've been told I can remove some stains by buffing them out with wax. So far I've not been able to achieve that by hand. Would the mechanical waxer make a difference?
    4. Which of your videos covers removing blemishes?

Thanks! Typically, you wax painted surfaces only, to avoid residue on plastics or trim. You can certainly apply wax to your headlights and tail lights, it helps protect them against UV rays and that yellowing effect, and some also apply wax to glass surfaces, although glass sealants are better for that task.

Yes you can absolutely apply paste or liquid waxes with a dual action polisher, as long as you use a super soft pad (no cutting) and low speed on your polisher (speed 1 or 2). And you would buff off using a microfiber towel.

@@PanTheOrganizer Howzit , thanks for writing me... I did a search for 'How to properly wax car" on CZcams and you came up in top 2 or 3... I thought this guy looks pretty cool.
The car is well over 10 years old , but very sound mechanically . An observation that may help your viewers: If they have SUV or similar vehicle where you really can't see upper roof exterior of car...
After I washed off all the residue and organic debris of the tress... I noticed little specks of rust... about a dozen or so , real small a 1/4 of a grain of rice or less...at first I thought it was organic debris (i was going to wax)
Instead , I hit each speck of rust with some 400 grit sand paper , wiped down with paint thinner and spray painted with as close as a match of color as I could find , I don't care about looks as much as the holes that rust will eat in the roof in no time as I live in the sub tropics near the sea...
But yeah climb up there and have a look now and again . Even a new car can get damage from road debris like sand and gravel when cruising at higher speeds.
I must have picked over 50 tiny pebbles from the radiator "gills" with a tooth pick to give an idea of just how much debris is flying a round out there.. CHECK YOUR ROOF ! For sure this a "Stitch in time..." thing. After paint cures... I will wax . Good channel... I subbed... thanks for your help.

Thanks a lot for the awesome videos!

That video was just a car wash tutorial. Not how to decontaminate, polish, or wax the vehicle.

I polish maybe every third year and top with swisswax chrystal rock wich gives an nice and rich dept.
My question is: when i see your videos you explain and teach lik all cars have a lot of decontamination and the cleaning prosess is very comprehensive. World it be ok after inspecting the paint to just top of with a new layer of wax to simplify and still have a good protection and great look to the paint?

I can’t find a vid of re-wax your car. Do I apply on top of old wax? Strip the old wax? How? Redo the clay bar, polish? All of that issues? Pls make that vid. Big Thanks.

If the paint needs claying, you would clay. Wash the car and feel the paint. Especially in the lower parts of the vehicle. If it feels gritty or rough, it’s time to clay.
Once every three months or as needed based on iron contamination (brake dust) use an iron remover.
You reapply a fresh coat of wax when you reach the end of the claimed lifespan of your specific wax (for example if the manufacturer claims 3 months durability, it’s a good idea to reapply after two months to be safe).
Or, if you see the hydrophobics starting to diminish, you can reapply.
No need to strip off the old wax before applying a new layer, unless you are changing types of wax and want the full effect of the new one.

    Hello from Chicago: several questions:
1). Do you have a Colinite 915 review? You dialed me onto Colinite 845. Have you used Colinite915?
2.).Can it be be used with Jescar Powe/Ulta Lock? Or, is it best used alone?
3). Glossmeters, what do you recommend.
I already have Jescar PowerLock, UltraLock, and Colinite 845. Can you connect me with links on recommended glossmeters or videos of glossmeters? If you have a link to Colinite 915, send it so when I order, you get credit. Thanks again!

How often do you apply the liquid wax after you complete a panel . I’m assuming you have to reapply more liquid wax per panel , correct ?
