Thanks Thomas, great review, I watched this video, and one by a UK presenter, to research a new and ended up going with the 45TSI Allroad. I’ve had the car for over a year now and I still think it’s great. It has so many features it does feel like a true luxury car (i.e. high beam assist). Thanks to the first owner, had been optioned with pretty much everything. Things that are really good: super smooth engine, super smooth ride, the acoustic glazing, really strong brakes, excellent climate control, LED headlights lights. All journeys long or short are effortless. Rock solid and stable in all weather conditions. One unexpected bonus, I live in London and it glides over speed bumps. If you can find a car with these options, I’d recommend: B&O Stereo (awesome), Panoramic roof (feels really light and bright). Things that could be better: Gearbox in comfort around town can occasionally be hesitant when pulling away, but not bad. While the car has cruise control, it absolutely should be adaptive and would make for even better motorway driving, (for this money it should be standard when they manage that on a Golf and wasn’t available on any UK cars). The rear view camera can get grimed up. Hope this helps

i drive a 2015 tdi allroad a6, i have had to use allroad a multiple times, the extra ground clearance allows you to do stuff which would otherwise scare you off, like camping somewhere, i would buy the tdi though, you can cruise high speeds no drama whatsoever, all by all the ultimate car imo, nothing tops this mix of sporty, rational (roomy) and fun (off-road)

Excellent Review. As per the preceding video of the S4 - stunning landscape near S. Andrea and Plancios. Allroad styling maybe quite smart, but these A4's seem very expensive even if loaded with a few extras - but a 'poverty spec' wouldn't be so much fun! Great commentary and driving Thomas. Many thanks for your professional work - appreciated. Greetings to Holger.

You’re one of the best, if not the best presenter. Yet, I’d suggest you spell out the various engine options in a less rushed speech delivery so that we better understand them. If you are pressed by the video time length, then I’d suggest to shorten the final resume, as it usually repeats the essential elements you’ve already clarified. Since you have a very unique and growing experience, then I would be more interested in the conclusion when you specifically highlight your opinion, integrating your reviews in market and auto production context. IYou still do it. But I preferred when it took a greater part of your review. I too like the A4 Allroad specifically, and its new face and its new grey. Tschüss ...

I'm in the US, and unfortunately when I visited by Audi dealer yesterday to see the 2020 A4 Allroad, I was informed that Audi is no longer selling it in the US, and have instead brought the A6 Allroad back to America in lieu of the A4 Allroad. Given that the A6 Allroad is quite a bit more dear than the A4 version, I had little interest in it. However, they had just gotten a nicely equipped used 2018 A4 Allroad in on trade with only 17k miles, which I test drove. I can't begin to express how disappointing I found the car. I fully expected the car to impress, but it simply did not. I found the interior a bit boring, and the performance was quite lackluster, if not a bit dreary, with a stiff accelerator pedal and little engine response. I quickly crossed the car off of my shopping list.
In fairness, I did find the ride quality to be nice and the steering felt lovely, but the other aspects left me with a sour taste, which surprised me given Audi's reputation. I really fully expected to love the car after all of the stellar reviews and hearing how well they sell. I suppose I may have gone into it with to great of expectations.

@@LifeISMagix Bought used w/6k miles. 85k miles now. Still under warranty - did have water pump replacement - warranty.
Driven daily. Serviced regularly by dealer w/Audi Care. The dealer service has been exceptional. (loaner cars when needed, shuttle/pickups)
Reliable - extremely so I would say.

Just like every other audi, everything is extra. Everything! Why I dont wanna buy an Audi. Too expensive new in the correct spec. And I cant even find a rly good spec in 2nd hand market that I like.

The only way to find an affordable audi is to get one that's already been orderd by a dealership. Creating a custom car on their website would not only take forever to ship but the price is more than ridiculous. Especially when you have to pay for things like Cruise control or in the A1 for example the armrest (which is very small) will set you back 90 dollars.

A shame that the screen isn't integrated into the dashboard...tablet plonked on top of dash is very lazy and spoils the interior. Also dislike the gloss arch liners. Otherwise an attractive enough car.

I don’t understand why does this Audi A4 allroad 2020 still have that tablet hanging out it is really bad when the at new 2020 A6 allroad is gone and actually beautifully integrated, the tablet looks very very very old design fashion and lazy

Very nice car but ruined by two features imho, that huge ugly non-retracting screen perched atop the dash and the non-folding rear seats. Definite deal breakers for me.

    • @daghammar4385

I share your frustration. I have had two hatchbacks and in both of them you flip up the rear seat base and then drop the rear seat back into the space that has been created. Voila, a flat floor. Amazing that such a useful feature was on a 1983 Ford hatchback and then a 2000 model Toyota hatchback
Like yourself I wonder what is the point of an estate car if you cannot utilise a flat floor.
I note your similar comment on the review of the Kia Proceed. A lovely car which I have been to have a look at but put off by the lack of flat floor and even more importantly, the lack of a spare wheel. Tyre repair kit.....no thanks, I will look elsewhere.

Is it just me or does every new Audi just look like every other Audi from the last few years? However, Thomas does do his best to make it sound “very interesting” including an Audi designer’s great idea to actually PAINT the wheel arches!
