You can't script his comic timing, the way he delivers the whole line with the laughing. It's one of my current favourite things on the whole of yt.

I always found it hilarious how hes asking him that when he barely has a handful of chips and mike is sitting next to him with a huge chip stack.
It makes the whole thing 1000% better. The fight itself is just a fight but watching Sheikh's face turn red as Mike laughs at him is just gold. He was probably already on tilt with his short stack and Mike just sent him flying over the edge completely. Perfection.
Sheikhan literally sounded like he was gonna cry when quoting what Mike said.
He did not want to get punished for saying Fuck on the table maybe

Matusow was totally right. Slamming the table tells every player where either the 8 or the Ace is.

The ironic thing is that Matusow was in a hand with Phil [edit: Phil Hellmuth] and some 3rd person (don't remember his name) a few years ago. Mike ended up folding and it went to the river, and the other person jammed against Phil when a flush landed on the river. Mike said, "that's why I folded and made a flush on the river", essentially telling Phil that two extra flush cards were dead. In fact, the player who jammed only had one flush card - it was a bluff.
Phil ended up folding but I would have been so mad if Phil had called due to the extra info. People suggested that Mike didn't do it on purpose, but this video makes it really clear that he knew exactly what he was doing.
I think Phil and Mike had pieces of each other - that type of collusion is just intolerable.

@Little Oggie And again you missed the point. We are very aware of the rules but quite honestly only a warning should've been given to Mike. You hear Phil Hellmuth swearing and cursing all the time and nothing ever happens to him. Not even warnings.

Yeah, the NBA will rescind technical fouls against players or coaches for yelling at the refs if it turns out the ref's call was wrong. Likewise Matusow should've been just given a warning since Sheikhan's behavior was wrong.

Sheik should've gotten a 20 minute penalty. He slammed the table and then turned around in his seat to talk about the hand with the gallery.
Totally agree. He got off lightly. Should've at least being a full round penalty. Depending on where the blinds were at that time it's possible he didn't lose any chips while on penalty.

Matusow shouldn’t have gotten the same 10 minute penalty as Sheikhan if you ask me. I’d be pretty ticked off too if another player gave away some info to the hand in question.

Vid was great but it missed an epic hand between the two. It's the one where Sheikhan moves in, and Matusow just needles him for a few minutes by asking him if he wants action. When Sheikhan finally tells Mike that he wants action, Mike just folds immediately and laughs.

Lol, the worst feeling, doubling up someone you're trying to knockout. Getting knocked out by someone you know is trying to eliminate you, even worse.
Mike had a ton of chips if I remember correctly. When you're the chip leader and you have a lot of short stacks and each higher place is worth so much more, you're gonna double them up sometimes. You don't even necessarily care if you're the favorite, you just care that their tournament life is on the line. Ofc you have to be a monster chip leader to play that way, but 7-2 beats aces sometimes. It narrows their ranges and forces them to only play monsters into you because they know they are getting called. This allows you to pick up the ever rising blinds and Antes, and occasionally pick off a small stack.
Mike to Sheik after the knockout: "I wish you all the best"
2 seconds later, Mike to the floor: "Yeah he lasted way too long"

ESPN thought it was the POKER that was the catch, but it was the personalities. So now they are stuck airing dry poker. Im surprised the popularity hasnt tanked back down to where it was before the shows booms. Its not like poker is a new game or anything.

@@pattylopez566 it’s pretty simple. How the heck do they get the new generation to play poker if all the entertaining parts of poker is behind a pay way. Sure people in our 30s + will play but that’s where it ends. The next generation won’t play cause they don’t know and they don’t know cause it’s behind a pay wall. It’s a old mans game to them so it will die off eventually because of this yes.

Back in the day, the free shows would promote the online sites. Now, with WSOP and WPT being the only legal sites, someone has to pay for the shows. Yeah it sucks...tell your congressman to change it.

I believe I remember reading that Mike and Shawn were actually decent friends during these days and you can see at the end Mike gives him a hug and Shawn accepts it. I believe that they did all this just for the show. Also, I think Mike staked Shawn on a couple of occasions.
Yeah they were good friends. Shawn staked matusow on one of the seasons of high stakes poker. Matusow went broke bluffing into phil laaks flush and you can see how annoyed Shawn is in the background haha

If I were the tournament official I would have given Sheikhan a 10 min penalty for starting it and affecting action. I would given Matusow a warning that he’s getting a 10 minute penalty the next time he curses or has an outburst.
