(SCANDAL!) Phil Hellmuth Erupts At Matusow After Being Told His Cards

- Phil Hellmuth is having a rough day at the office. He's already had a few controversies and meltdowns on Live at the Bike, and this time he's doing both simultaneously. When Nick Vertucci runs a big bluff on Phil, Mike Matusow seemingly tries to help him out, but in the end only serves to set the Poker Brat into a steaming rage.

I would have been steaming if I shoved and someone else said "I folded the flush" before the hand was over. . .
Punch to the face
Sofa King everyone with a brain would feel the same way... so yes it is good for him 😂👌
tiananman he is a useless pleb he has done this many times before in different ways how Phil doesn’t call from that information though is a bit weird.
@@tydegaming9627 probably because he doesn't trust Mike and feels like he would push him to call just to see him lose.

Mike Matusow: Slow rolling is the most disgusting thing you can do at a poker game.
Also Mike: Exposes cards during an all-in situation during a hand he has no part of.
Thats idiotic who cares if your slow rolling or not if your good at poker it doesn’t matter what your opponents face is doing give me a break
Slow rolling? What a baby. Come play me you weak donkey & Ill take your money too. Youd get eaten alive where I play.

@@doomguy2532 DAMN STRAIGHT 💯✊👊🖐️👌👍✌️🤘💯
i remember an old video of Matusow absolutely blowing up when someone else revealed info of a hand he was in
Haven't watched him play in a long time. Glad to see he calmed down a lot.
Wow Mike is so far out of line telling Phil he folded a couple of spades.. disgusting. I guess no one actually noticed, would've loved to see him get called out for that.
if phil calls, nick would’ve lost his mind
@@bilyonarelifestile2226That is actually ridiculous that no one said anything about it, everyone at the table clearly knows its out of line right? Why didn't they say anything.

The biggest scandal in this hand was Barry actually folding
rumor is they hired some special effects specialist from nearby hollywood and did some cutting to pretend barry folded.
What a let down...
I was so disappointed in that fold. He must have misread his hand.
What did he have?
But he thought the hand was over.
I'm really surprised that Phil didn't say his trademark line: "I almost called!" If I had $1000 for every time I've heard him say that on live cash games, I wouldn't have to work for a long time. It drives me nuts to hear. Who cares what you almost did Phil? That's why you almost didn't lose!
sometimes i think phil is an act but he says such classic fishy things that i'm confident he's just an idiot
Doug, happy to hear your advice to jam the turn. I was put in the same exact spot (down to the suits) but with 3 spades on the flop. After getting check raised i decided to jam thinking it was much more likely to be against one spade than two. Board ran out clean and i won but put in the same spot over time nice to hear a pro suggest the play. Awesome lodge content btw
Quit lying
We got it the first time Mike. You would have had a flush, congratulations
Mikes the kind of guy who keeps repeating shit until someone acknowledges him
Amazing he’s a “pro” and announced his hand after folding. I know these games are supposed to be a little looser and more relaxed in etiquette than normal but damn man can you stop a little short of being a total jackass?
@@louisastuto2878 i dont like that either but i dont think it was malicious intent. its the old school lapse and actually pretty common in life games of all sort of stakes. specially with many recreational player this is just the usual.
only when you have a real hard table with only pros or aspiring pros you wont see it except on intentional collusion.
woswas denni Mike Matusow has been playing for at least 20 years. He knows perfectly well that he should not do that in the middle of a hand, malicious intent or not. He would be the first to jump at another player’s throat in the same situation.

With Mike saying what he said phil made a huge mistake folding, when mike said he would’ve made a flush phil should have fist pump snap called.
I think Mike might have guilted Phil into folding. By revealing he had 2 spades made it less likely Nick would have a flush. Then Phil might have felt bad about using that info to his advantage. Or Phil might have though Mike was lying!
Shut up
Brilliant Idiot your grammar is amazing. You must be an English teacher.

What an awesome table of players. I'd love to be able to sit for 4 hours at a table with this group.
Those 4 hours would guarantee you 4 years in a mental asylum.
It would definitely guarantee you'd have to ask for 50 c to take the bus home after lol
Matusow is so incredible boring
Why would you want to spend time with these aholes? Are you so desperate?
The freeze frame of hellmuth hopping up off his chair is brilliant
11:00 that look of "I tried to tell you!" smh
"I will tell you this Mikes not invited anymore."
Hellmuth should do standup about all his bad beats. His reactions really are funny
that Mike interrupted "his steam" made the cost of that hand well worthwhile in the end.....that was funny as hell.
If I was Nick I probably would’ve lost me shit on Mike even though I won the hand. Dude had no business saying he made a flush before the hand was over.
Hellmuth's so called "eruption" or "blow up" has now turned into more of a smiling banter. Either he's getting old or is somewhat content with his life after winning millions of dollars and 15 bracelets.
for real i literally got to the end of the video like where was the blow up?
Yeah I’m still not a fan of his but have to agree that he has chilled out over the years. Makes him seem way more respectable as a person
I dont follow poker, watching a few videos over the last couple of days largely by accident so I have no idea who Phil is, but I can't believe he has won all that because every clip I've seen of him he loses and then acts like a 5 year old who's had his candy taken away. If I could be arsed I could always search for his greatest moments I suppose.
@@terranceparsons5185 he’s calmed down a lot, I didn’t care for watching him before but I enjoy it now
@@terranceparsons5185 Well he won his first major tournament in the 80s, and he mostly freaks out because strategy has obviously changed since then and he misses the "good ol' days" when people just weren't better than him. That being said, his frequent wins don't always make it to youtube highlights, as his blow-ups are far more entertaining. He is extremely successful and one of the GOATs of poker for sure.
These guys (Mike and Hellmuth) are so bad they can’t even win when colluding 🤦♂️
What? Mike has been winning dude. They're both solid players. Have you even been watching him play? Mike has actually been crushing.
@@DoctorChained and lost it all probs
@@DoctorChained lol. I know you are joking. Mikey is straight garbage
Actually phil had to take a dive on that one to protect their collusion. Folds AA after someone tells you they pitched 2 spades, yeah right.
@@DoctorChained tough to say hes crushing anything when he has to get staked at The Bike
You know the conversation they had after was "hey I tried helping you, You could have used the information I gave you to help you make the call"
Really Nick was complimenting Phil's ability by going all-in, because he new Phil was good enough to fold AA in that position.
Why doesn’t live at the bike get some better cameras. This video quality looks like they are playing at a convenience store back room
Have you ever been there??!
Its such a dodgy casino..
I thought I was watching a hostage video
"Mike, You're going to interrupt my steam now?!!" Priceless
can i please have the link to the stream would like to watch this.
God help me I just love Phil, he's so damn entertaining, I'm sittin' here laughing, he kills me! LOL
For some reason I actually kinda like Phil, but can't stand Mike.
I've been thinking about why that is for years, but I still can't come up with an answer 😄
Say -- if he had called, would there be any recourse available from the floorman? Any penalty for MM?
Yeah I wondered that too, IF he made the call with AA, as far as im concerned the "i folded the flush" guy should have been the one to pay the remaining chips after disclosing information that vital
phil's so jaded now, he's even able to keep his composure.
Revisited this today. This video is infuriating in so many ways led of course by matusow blatantly cheating to help the guy who bought him into the game. There is zero chance this wasn't an angle on purpose, matusow has way way too much experience to do this on accident. I still think hellmuth may have folded on purpose because he knew how bad this was, and after the hand he also doesn't mention matusow mentioning the spades. With his experience hellmuth would know to snap call on that info. Then just add in Nik being so freaking stupid he's high fiving a guy that just tried to cheat to help hellmuth steal from him.
what does "realizing your equity" mean in simple terms? does it mean u hit kinda your strongest possible hand (etc flush/str)
Doug I need some help! I don’t understand that everything I do at the poker table conveys information
You can't be all loosey-goosey telling your opponents what you have
Stop eating sandwiches
This comment never gets old
I'm bein' on my phone "woo hoo!"

Funny how when Phil gets outplayed he always makes it seem like everyone is so bad at poker but him
Nick sounded like Mike Wasowski when he said "Mike stfu and let him steam!" Lol
"Mike... Can I say some shit, or do you wanna INTERRUPT MY STEAM TOO?"
Phil is a national treasure.
Mike is well out of order stating he would have made a flush
"He must have thought the hand was over and folds." 🤣🤣🤣
Phil puts on a good show. Table talk always goes on.
But Mike shouldn't have been saying what he folded.
13:27 - when they started mocking Phil with the "Honey he moved all in with Ace King!" line I lost it.
i checked comments just to have more fun about it xD priceless
I disagree with your analysis on the turn Doug, here's why:
You say Phil shouldn't be worried by the flush because Nick would have raised on the flop with a flush draw but two issues with that.
1) Phil could have JJ in his range given the pre flop action and that should be taken into account, so even with a flush draw re-raising in that spot is an unnecessary risk with a draw vs. 3 of a kind IMO.
2) Phil has no flush blockers so I think him worrying about his opponent having at least one spade is relatively reasonable.
No disrespect meant, you are obviously a better poker player than me but I had to point out I don't agree with that.
Mike knew what he was doing. Phil knew what Mike was doing hence the snap fold & low-key said he wasn't invited. Mike should be banned.
I think you may be right about Phil here. Once he heard the info from Mike, he couldn't un-hear it, but he also couldn't then make the call, since it would totally look like collusion. If that's the case, good on him for making the right ethical decision for the good of the game - and his reputation.
@@analogmike1534 If anything, Phil made the fold not for ethical reasons, but for his own selfish reasons. He didn't want it to look like he was colluding with Mike so he folded anyway.
Joel Is it his fault someone clouded
Ya, those 'shut the fuck ups' were very real.
Phil was listening when Mike said what he said. Just look at his body language and his face slump when Mike says it, then swiftly folds.
His anger after the hand wasn't even really directed at the bluffer, he spends a good portion of the rant telling Mike to shut up.
Interesting idea - perhaps Phil bets large on the flop because there is a fairly high chance opponent has a suited ace, and he wants to charge that hand. Middle pairs aren't going to pay up much more than a flop c-bet, and suited connectors of spades will pay up especially thse containing a 6.
Once you get in enough preflop with Aces, don't fold post-flop. I think the number is around 14 big blinds. Anything above that, you can get it on every flop and your opponent literally cannot outflop you often enough to profit. A few big blinds more than that, and you don't have to fold even all the way to the river. I don't know how much Hellmuth had back here, but huge preflop pots do a fantastic job of protecting Aces.
There were so many shady and ridiculous things that happened in this stream that you could make 5 videos from the night. I wonder if Hellmuth picks up on what Mikey says and ends up calling what the eventual outcome would be? I have to imagine he’d be shamed into splitting the pot or something. Absolutely absurd to come from someone who’s been playing 20+ years...so much so you have to wonder if it’s an attempt at helping Phil out or if he’s just that spaced out.
Just admit it poker is just better with these guys. Mike and Phil just classics.

If I were in Nick's spot I'd have called the floor and asked them to give Mike a penalty. He's not new to the game, he knows full well that you're not allowed to say that kinda shit in the middle of a big spot.
I thought he said his name was "Dog Pork" in the intro, lol
I just realized why I don't like to watch "Doug Polk" videos! He is obviously a "Poker Brat" fan! Criticizes Matusow for commenting on the hand even though Hellmuth started the exchange! Only reason I clicked on this is my love to watch Hellmuth lose it!!
Matusow reminds me of the guys at 1/2 bemoaning how they folded 74o and would have made a boat
Lol.
They fold 74o at your tables? Where do I find those games? 74o always calls my raise when I have AA AK or AQ and makes a boat on the flop. Most people don't know how to play poker worth a damn. Call a 10x pre-flop raise with two shit cards and suck out. I wish I could only play with pros.
lololol
As Doug said, there's nothing wrong with just being quiet........unless your nickname is "The Mouth."
Totally agree with not telling cards when not in pot. I. Playing online on pppoker app in Australia and every one is allowed to show there mucked cards after the hand has finished totally ruining people’s bluffs
Whenever Nick is talking but he’s not on camera, all I hear is Mike Wazowski 🤣
"Q 4 suited, one of Barry's better holdings that I've seen him with" lol I'm dead!!
6:55 "the turn comes a spade. So if either player had a flush draw they have made a flush." As always, great insight!
Lol I know it sounds silly, but they're basically pointing out what each player might be placing the other's range at and how it might've improved
That is why it’s called play by play.
10:47 The Philmobile looks like a sick ride.
First bet of the hand……”That’s bullshit, let’s chop” lol
Hey guys I'm announcing my hand over and over again, please talk to me
I don't know these guys, or the latest poker gossip/partnerships, etc. But I know that at least at one time, Mike and Phil were good buddies. To a total outside person like myself, this looks like Mike trying to HELP Phil by giving him card info.
Phil stakes matusow... so mike seems to feel obligated to "help" phil try to win this hand here..
This was a great stream. I think later Phil left in a pout and Mike took his shirt off and wore Phil's jacket.
One thing is clear. Any of those guys would dominate me at this game. They would have me folding way too much, I need to fix that.
I remember Mike ripping Sean Shakan (Sheiky) for slapping the table during a flop in hand he was not in. Signaling he had part of the flop was giving information.
Yeah, I remember that too. Matusow knew what he was doing.
You're all gonna learn a lot from Phil and look stupid, once trapping an opponent comes back into style in 2045.
you want to interrupt my steam too?? haha love Phil. Also shoutout to watching this a year later!
I’m completely lost. I’ve been a dealer in Vegas for twenty years and that just plain is not allowed. Do they not allow dealers to control tables when they are on tv with pros or why does this always happen on these shows and the dealer never says anything?
I have to show discretion with tourists who are unfamiliar with the rules but these are pros. They can’t do that shit. Why does no dealer or pit boss ever tell them to shut up. Do it again and your gone?
This isn’t supposed to be a controversy. This isn’t supposed to be a situation where someone “should” act a certain way to prevent you from going on tilt. It’s not allowed. And if no one’s gonna enforce it then why wouldn’t you be able to do it and play poker however you want to mess with peoples heads and piss them off. It always boggles my mind how dealers or even pit bosses if they don’t want dealers on tv dealing with pros just let these pros play however they want and break rules. You wouldn’t let a pro string bet. Why do you allow them to do this?
Love your videos. Please move the pop filter to be at least an inch or two from the mic. It doesn't do much when it's right next to it.

I’m still really sad to see you off the felt and nothing would make me smile more than seeing you take down those massive pots from the so called “pros” while you crush them. I understand you gotta do what feels right tho and stepping away from the table and working on your websites and channel truly makes you happy because I can tell in your voice and demeanor that your enjoying it. That’s the most important thing. Keep it up Super Polk!!
what is that thing on the table in front of the dude with the flannel ?
Possible that Hellmuth knows how out of line Mike was and the blowback there’s be if he’d made a call with that info so he folded? Now I know that seems unlikely but consider this, how likely is it that Phil doesn’t pick up on the dead spades? Which is less likely, I’m gonna give Phil the benefit of the doubt and think that he was doing what he knew was right
You got love Helmuth getting all that elbow room while the remaining seven players are crowded around the rest of the table? I guess he needs extra room for his ego and the steam coming out of his ears when he loses.
I honestly think Phil was aware of Mike's giveaway, and intentionally folded to cover Mike's stupidity, avoiding the ugly fallout that would've resulted.
(1) Phil recovers quickly
(2) Phil drills Mike repeatedly to "shut the f*** up Mike" after returning, and is jovial while doing it.
(3) Phil is very complimentary to the winner
I believe this is a rare insight into Phil's maturity and his love of the game.
Shouldn’t the flush information incentivize a call from Phil knowing there are fewer spades available?
You're absolutely right! Thank you for analysing the hand.
Phil now plays like he is scared to lose. He keeps allowing players to push him around bc everyone knows he wont put it all in unless he has the stone cold nuts
I remember when the mouth went ballistic on Sheikan for talking about what he had during a hand.
Yep. The Sheik reacted by banging the table.
0:57 for a second I thought at the top of the screen Joe Montana was playing poker
It’s funny because at points I didn’t realize he paused the vid and had figured the players were holding true to their poker faces

I’m surprised after all this time a couple of these guys haven’t buddied up and worked together.
Matusow telling him he made a flush should have made the call easy for Phil
"You gonna interrupt my steam too?!"
The youtuber cadence is strong with this one.
I luv how Phil says they play so bad when he looses he'd literally be a master of poker if he didn't see it as a game played only a certain way
I'm laughing at the comments about the hand reveals. These guys have been playing each other long enough not to believe anything anyone says at the table about any hand they haven't shown. It's bad play at an open table but as Phil clearly pointed out it's invite only. What you're seeing is how friends play poker. Never miss an opportunity to poke fun at your friend's loss, knowing full well they'll return the favour when it's your turn to take the hit. It keeps everyone humble, well everyone except Phil.
