  • CNN's John Berman and George Conway discuss possible implications of former President Donald Trump's long-time accounting firm informing the Trump Organization that it should no longer rely on nearly 10 years' worth of financial statements and that they would no longer be their accountants, citing a conflict of interest. #CNN #News

    The accountants probably saw the writing on the wall - that Trump was going to try to blame them for any financial "errors." Wisely, the accountants decided to come out first and place the blame on Trump, where it belongs.

      But someone still needs to investigate them as well. Because it's sounding to me like they're thinking, "Oh no, we've supremely screwed up and haven't been doing our due diligence." I mean, I'm sure Trump lied them and they just wrote down whatever he told them to. They all need to go to jail. Trump & the accounting firm.

    • @goodmorning6827

      @@tybrady1935 Of course, Trump is shamelessly unscrupulous. But the accountants can only work with what they are given. I suspect the problem the accounts may have is explaining why it took them so long to mistrust Trump’s figures. That might be an issue. But aside from that, there is already incontrovertible documentary evidence that Trump increased or decreased the value of his properties by hundreds of percentage points depending on whether he was filing a tax return or applying for a loan. He may try to blame that on his accountants, but in the end, the accountants can only work with the numbers he gives them.

    Basically the accounting firm just admitted of “COOKING THE BOOKS” for Donald Trump because accountants and client work very close in the output of the financial statements.
    The accounting firm needs to be questioned about their practices.

    • @ninamcgrath3053
      @ninamcgrath3053 Před 2 lety +6

      It is not the job of an accounting firm to seek outside client information. When the client provides their records for accounting, the firm does not send an employee to assess values as accurate in the information provided. This is not just a DJT situation, but all accountants. It is not feasible for accounting firms to go to every listed asset for all of their clients, and provide valuations. Those valuations are provided by the client and the accounting firm acts in good faith. Once the NY State Attorney General began to review DJT and his business practices, she subpoenaed those documents. Once reviewed by the AG, the discrepancies were found and Mazars ended the business relationship.
      Many of those valuation discrepancies were sent from Allen Weisselberg, who has since been arrested and charged with "cooking the books." Weissselberg "cooked the books." He provided 2 different sets of accounting to the AG. Those discrepancies were the cause of his arrest.
      Think about tax accountants filing for their clients. They take the information their clients provided to do taxes. If they are provided false information, they have no way of knowing.

    • @sfopaladin2661
      @sfopaladin2661 Před 2 lety +3

      When auditors take on clients its assumed that the relationship is in good faith. When DJT's accountants and comptroller compile the numbers and hand them over to Mazars its to be taken at face value and not to question the procedures they used to arrive at those numbers. When Mazars found out about a duplicate set of numbers from the SDNY, that's when it officially ended their relationship with DJT thereby proving to the authorities they were not involved nor complicit in any altering of numbers.
      All this falls on DJT's side of the ledger and is not the responsibility of the auditors/Mazars.

    2:20 George has it nailed - when the accountants said they have a "non-waivable conflict of interest with the Trump Organization", that's a polite way of saying "we are now working for SDNY, so we cant work for you, anymore."
    Think about it. The letter says it made this decision based on "internal investigation and information from both internal and external sources". That spells it out, doesnt it? Whatever they discovered in their internal investigation is the paper trail to a crime (probably plural). Based on the letter from the Attorney General, it would appear that SDNY already knows about the crime, and **knows that** Mazars has the paper trail. If Mazars refuses to cooperate, they would themselves be in legal peril.
    That's why the statement refers to a "*non-waivable*" conflict of interest. Sorry Donnie ... our hands are tied . . . .

Peter Strzok’s claim of an “insurance policy” in the event that Trump somehow won suddenly seems to take its proper place within this biggest political scam in US history. And to base your opinion along personal political lines is exactly how the various entities involved became so righteously entitled to act upon their mutual interests in framing a sitting president. It would be equally as absurd if it were done by a Republican candidate colluding w/ said national security divisions. There’s no place in a civil society for which these actions can be condoned by anyone if we want to continue being a respected nation. We need to get back to basing our views on right vs wrong rather than Right vs Left.

    Seems as though things are spiraling in a downward direction for trump. Is there anyone left that cares?

    As long as Georges wife stays silent on Trump and, in effect, supports Trumps tactics, it negates Georges statements. Every time I listen to George I can’t hear him for the deafening silence of Kellyanne. It all seems like he is tickling our ears. Is it contrived? It’s hard not to ask yourself how much of his statements are written by his wife.
