      Lasik is a SCAM!!!
      you might have good vision now, but your future eye health is uncertain. after 2008 the truth came out about lasik. Even the guy who approved it after 1998 is calling it to be banned. So many people are have problems with lasik now. they kill half of your cornea. Damage is irreversible. They mask this by giving you 20/20 for some years. your body weakens when you get old same as your corneas. in 10 years lasik will be announced dangerous and will be banned from public. Its very profitable and thats why they are still doing it.

    • @MsFlamingFlamer
      @MsFlamingFlamer Před 7 lety +131

      My mother had lasik over 15 years ago and is doing great. As far is it being very "profitable" that is silly as hell. Dental procedures are way more expensive

    • @heatherrembe2854
      @heatherrembe2854 Před 7 lety +77

      Newsflash...as we age our eyes naturally get worse. Even those who don't get Lasik will have this happen. Good doctors will tell you that you may need reading glasses later in life. Plus, did you not hear her say that they gave her a lifetime commitment? That means they will fix anything they may need to. And as far as the price goes all surgeries are pricey. Have you ever had surgery? I have had 6 and none of them were cheap. If it was cheap then I would be worried about it being safe or reliable. If you really want surgery you have to research doctors. You don't just pick any doctor or one that offers cheap prices. Plus, you research all the risks and possible side effects. But you should do that with ANY surgery.

I got glasses in the 4th grade, have been a contact wearer since high school. Contacts bothered my eyes a ton and I knew I wanted this done since high school. I am so so so glad I followed through. Hi can u give me some updates!?!? Thanks!

    • @BrandonCabjuan
      @BrandonCabjuan Před 3 lety +1

      @@thearisatal9842 hey there! Its been a week and a half since I've had my eyes did!
      First couple days were rough for me. I was using the wrong eye drops prior to the surgery because of course that is something I'd mess up on 🤣🤣 basically, the drops i was supposed to be taking were a combination anti inflammation drop i believe my doctor told me. I was taking tear production drops instead 😅 so because of it, my eyes had some minor inflammation post surgery days. My right eye was worser than my left. I was super sensitive to light and could barely open my eyes unless I forced them open. Everything was super sensitive after I got my surgery so I just went home and went to sleep. After I woke up the only thing I felt that I could best describe to you is, my eyes felt like someone dumped a bucket of ocean water all over my eyes. I could not keep them open and they felt really salty.
      Driving post surgery day was a challenge 🤣 luckily my doctor is just 10 minutes away. When I told my doc this, he made me up the eye drops on my right eye and keep the normal drops on my left (you still use the combination eye drops after surgery)
      After a couple days I went back in for a check up and things were getting better. Post one week check up inflammation is almost gone but little remnants still remain. The eyes being dry is not as dry as they were the first couple of day's. I went from every hour to now every 4-6 hours put a drop in my eye to keep them moist.
      In terms of my vision, because my eyes were inflammed its taking a little longer for them to heal. I can see at night, but I can't really see. If that makes sense. I dont see any halos or 'starbursts' but I've never known what an actual Starburst looks like, so who knows, haha. Lights are no longer as sensitive as they weren coming out of surgery. Its still hella bright if I walk outside around 11am, lol. My eyes do have trouble sharpening words, but I'm told this is normal and our eyes will heal over the coming weeks and months. But like I mentioned earlier about my nighy vision, I can see, but I cannot see, lmao. This is a long healing process my dr told me. Could take up to could weeks, months or even a year depending on how our eyes feel like they want to heal rate at 😆
      I can however say if there is adequate amounts of light in the room, I can see so clearly! My eyes are pretty much like camera lens eye, lol. I need the light in order to see. Super thankful to be able to sit back on my bedside and watch my TV a few feet away from me without needing to wear glasses, lol.

    I went 2yrs without getting new glasses and my new ones with my new prescription came in yesterday. When I got to my car I started bursting out in tears. I mean I cried for hours. My lenses are SO thick, it’s not even a joke. They’re way thicker than the frame itself and I hate them. I hate that I had to be born with such poor vision. I’m so insecure about them so I refuse to wear them. Hopefully my insurance covers lasik and hopefully I’m okay to get the procedure done. Even though it’s scary, I’m tired of crying about it and being insecure. I’m tired of glasses, I’ve been wearing them since the 4/5th grade

      VXCBSD BVSDB it went well! Have to sleep about 6 hours afterward and you have antibiotic and steroid drops to use throughout the day for a week. I have a series of follow ups with the doctor as standard procedure. But I see 20/20! The procedure itself was very quick, about 20 seconds per eye. No pain!

    • @TofuProductionCinema
      @TofuProductionCinema Před 7 lety +9

      Hi Cane,
      It's been a little over a month since the procedure, so far no issues, the halo-effect at night is very minimal and my "dry-eye" feeling went away about a week or so after my procedure. I have my 1- month eval coming up this coming Tuesday, (Nov 5th) and I'll be happy to update there as well.
      My only slight gripe thus far is while my right eye sees PERFECT, my left eye is just a tad, (seriously very minimal) out of focus in comparison. It doesn't cause me to see necessarily uneven, but given my left eye prior to the procedure it was the dominant eye, but after the procedure, my right eye now is.
      I haven't used the steroid or antibiotic drops after the first week since per my doctor's instructions, it was to use them first day every two hours, for each. Then following the second day for the remainder of the week, it was to be done twice a day for both, and to use eyedrops for moisture as needed. Also need to keep eyes away from any water (OR RUBBING) for the first full week, so I had to basically wear swim goggles, to block out the hard-water impurities when showering and such.
      Stay tuned.

    Let me start by saying I don't normally leave reviews, but i felt I definitely should for other people considering having LASIK done. It's been 12 days since I had the procedure done, and I am very happy with the results. I am 23 and have been wearing glasses since middle school. Now I see just as well if not better than when I had glasses, and the only problem (not even really a problem for me) is eyes occasionally feeling dry throughout the day. The dry eyes were to be expected as a part of the recovery process, and it's honestly not even that bad.
    Everyone who I know that has had Lasik done or knows someone with Lasik done has referred me to Singer Haley in Metairie Louisiana, and they all have had nothing but good things to say.
    I was originally going to go with the Standard package, but Dr. Singer strongly insisted that I go with the HD package. He and the other staff members informed me that I have larger pupils than the average person I'd be more likely to end up with long lasting glares and halos at night. I even went back and forth with him telling him that I had done my research and that I'd be ok with the standard Lasik. He then told me that he would rather not perform the surgery at all instead of taking my money and providing me with something he knew I would not be happy with. Once he told me that, I discussed it with my father who had had a Cataracts procedure done with Singer Haley. I figured the extra cost would be worth it for my eye sight.
    Dr. Singer is nice, but he talks really fast and throws a lot of information at you at once so it can be hard to remember everything they tell you at first. The rest of the staff was nice for the most part. I felt comfortable throughout the whole process. Like someone said in a previous review, each time I went, they were pretty busy, but they are good at what they do. In and out no BS.
    The day of the surgery i got there around 12:50pm and was on the way home by 4:00pm. During the surgery itself, I did experience a significant amount of discomfort (almost painful) when the pressure was applied to my right eye to keep it still and the incision was made, but it was over in a couple of seconds. It was probably just the numbing drops not fully kicking in yet. On my left eye which was done second, the only real discomfort was the pressure being applied. I didn't feel the cut this time. The rest of the surgery was easy. You can smell the laser burning your eye which was weird. Wasn't a strong smell, but it is something you notice. Whole thing lasted no more than 3 minutes for both eyes.
    After that, they checked me out and sent me home. I slept on and off until the next day and followed all of the aftercare instructions. I wasn't in any pain or uncomfortable that entire time. Vision was noticeably better the next day but still kind of cloudy. Once I went back for the post op and they removed the protective contact lenses, everything was crystal clear. They did the vision test and I had 20/20. I think i was at 20/600 before the surgery.
    Now it's been almost two weeks and all i do is put in some of the Systane Ultra drops (artificial tears) every couple of hours and wear sunglasses outside during the day. I drove at night maybe 3 days after the surgery and had very little of the glare/halo effect. It was honestly close to what I'd see wearing glasses. Now my night vision is great.
    I can't speak on the long term just yet, but definitely worth it so far.

    Just FYI, it is a possibility to go blind from LASIK. My uncle got LASIK and I don't know the exact details, but he had some complications that caused his vision to go blurry enough for him to become legally blind. He can see blurry colors when he looks around now and that's it. It's so unfortunate and I feel really bad for him. BUT, he did get this procedure when it first came out, so it was a long time ago. Maybe the procedure has gotten better since then. If anyone knows how complications can exactly affect LASIK, chime in. I'm sure we'd all like to know. Not trying to scare anyone though... Even though my uncle had a bad experience, I still took the plunge last month and got PRK. Just one eye at a time though. Left eye is good and clear and I'm about to get my right done next week. I think complications are rare and you shouldn't be afraid to do it, just make sure to go with a doctor that has good reviews.

      Did you notice any difference between the treated eye and the untreated one?

      @@heyyou3609 lol sorry about the 4 year late reply. Both my eyes are still clear and I had zero issues ever since the procedures.

      @@hidyshawky3804 Well my vision was pretty horrible, so one eye was extremely blurry (my original vision) while the other was clear. After the procedures though, I did not have any side effects at all. It’s been years now and my vision is still clear and great.

    Apparently 96% of people who performed lasik eye surgery succesfully got 20/20 vision!,

    I have - eye vision. I am not an adult yet and I’m scared for my future, but it relieves me that lasik exists. Maybe when I’m older I’ll be able to get surgery. This comment section makes me feel safe, Thank you for this video!
