I would love to smell this on a man! I think florals (especially rose, iris and tuberose) and gourmands smell incredible on men. I wear lots of "men's" fragrances, life is too short to not wear whatever you love 💕

I love this fragrance, and for me, is 100% unisex, as I don't see any reason as for why men shouldn't wear floral fragrances, and to my nose, this just smells like a beautiful garden after a heavy rain. Actually, I bought this as a present for my mother, and even though she liked it, she told me that it's "too masculine" for her to wear, which I found interesting, but I did gave her Cruz del sur II from my collection and kept carnal flower for me, and I love to wear it! Especially in the summer, I'm 100% that men can pull this off, as with any fragrance that just smell utterly natural, no bubble gum or makeup smell for this (only smells I'll associate as 100% feminine). But I agree that the name it's not a good fit, I don't get anything "carnal" about this fragrance, just art.

Ha. I’m male and I wear it. Love it. There are men who love it and wear it. Not all men can pull it off. You have to have the confidence, and have the right personality. And yes, Frederic Malle is French. Also, if you like it now, you would have liked it better say, nine years ago. Why? Because the formula changed because of ridiculous E.U. imposed rules. To me it doesn’t smell as good as it did back circa 2011.
I really love your reviews. It's so great to have an actual perfumer to review fragrances who can give a detailed breakdown of the composition and ingredients - I find this so refreshing and intriguing. I also really appreciate your honesty as perfume is so subjective. I would love for you to review Iris Poudre. I feel like this perfume is the shy girl in the Frederic Malle collection that often goes unnoticed but is quite interesting and complex when you get to know her😀

ATH, what makes a fragrance project? Do certain aroma chemicals project better than others?? This has been a burning question of mine, thanks! I love your reviews so much.
I've only tried "the Night". It took me some bravery to go for that level of animalic. However, after 35-45 minutes, it turned into pure art. I fell in love with its heart. Frederic Malle uses top caliber perfumers for each fragrance.
I adore your reviews, if I'm looking for a review for a certain fragrance, and see review by you, I jump on it and take your review like the bible, thanks Aaron.

You've got to try Musc Ravageur and Portrait of a Lady. Both utter masterpieces. Also would be curious to hear your thoughts about The Moon, The Night, Promise, etc.

Promise is fantastic, one of my favourite fragrances
Dominique Ropion said in an interview that the tuberose is the centerpiece of the fragrance and was inspired by "Fracas" made by Robert Piguet. Ropion also spent more than 2 years to perfect the formula for this perfume.
On a side note do you know where to watch or read these interviews / documentaries from or about perfumers?

Anisyl Alcohol or Anisaldehyde? One smells like powdery lilac and the other one like powdery mimosa, or something like that.

I've been trying to find samples of your line but it's not simply done. General I like to test the waters to find my loves. Examples include ~Herod PDM/Tom Ford oud wood/Layton PDM/Noir Extreme Tom Ford/& of course Aventus.. Any ideas?
In a year from now I will have staff and it will be easier. Its a one man business 99% of the time at the moment.

I’m a fellow fire sign, namely Aries. I don’t wear this masterpiece to please anyone else but myself. I actually adore the eucalyptus almost clinical element of it. I do receive many compliments from men whereas women always stop and question me about Portrait of a Lady oddly enough.

I do like tuberose. This one is not heavy. I have this it is quite lovely to wear during the day.
But I am yet to try your fragrances I’m sure I would like them. I am a fan of rap music. Lol

It’s a patchouli (one of my favorite perfumes) and I’ve been hunting high and low for something that gives a similar impression. Another one is Spiritueuse Double Vanille by Guerlain (I’d bathe in this stuff if I could). Same pursuit. Looking for a scent that’s like it. If you don’t have either, I can sneak them into a package and send to you. Stay fantastic 🥰

I love it and wear it well. I feel its unisex which is funny how convinced Aaron feels its for women. To each his own opinion but Ive never seen a flower with a vagina. Thanks for the review.

I think that was a misstep in comparing anyone who likes rap music to a scent being preferable for them. Although I understand where you were going with it in the range of your analogy but I have to definitely question the overal relevancy of it. For one reason in particular, I listen to rap music and I'm a professional person and I'm highly into being choosey when it comes to perfumery.
I heard alot about this fragerance I stayed away from it because I dibt like to much flowery/ rose fragerance dont work well on my skin

The only thing about it is it smells a lot like white shoulder or Jean Nate powder but it’s not bad
First niche scent I put my nose on.. Even though it is feminine I had to have it even at $300 at the time 8 years ago... I Prefer Musc Ravageur from Frédéric Malle.. Sometimes I just want to smell the scent at home (carnal flower)

Strange review of this classic, my most complimented perfume. I find it extremely sexy, I don't picture someone in the boardroom, but rather in the jungle.
My favorite perfume of all time. I've wasted thousands of dollars on stocking up on this one incase of possible reformulation.

In my opinion Nasomatto Narcotic V. smells more realistic.
In fact, the Nasomatto Narcotic V is the most realistic tuberose I've ever smelt, compared to Le Labo Lys 31 Frederic Malle Carnal Flower.
But Carnal Flower is stunning nonetheless.

Unisex!!!I have it and I have received many compliments, in my opinion it is very good for spring and summer days where it is not super hot.
i absolutely love carnal flower, don’t care about impressing anyone, i wear it because it’s a masterpiece and i can’t get enough of it.
Dominique Ropion is the nose behind this masterpiece, portrait of a lady etc.. he is top for me
