  • Going to add a 1k resistor to the sensor lead to reach my “Safe” target. Cant have it shutting down at 260c.
Oil flashpoint is 300c. Adblue peroxide does bleach the Emissions out the exhaust pipe to below 50.

The blue is from the copper reacting with either the ammonia from the urea decomposition, nitric acid, which is formed when the nitric oxides combine with moisture, or reacting with the isocyanic acid from the urea's decomposition. The adblue isn't doing its job, because the cat lacks the metal oxide catalysts required to break the nitrogen oxides down into nitrogen, water, and CO2. What is happening is the adblue/urea is breaking down into ammonia and isocyanic acid under the heat. The metal oxides are required to then convert the isocyanic acid into more ammonia, the ammonia, nitric oxides, and water vapor into nitrogen gas, water, and CO2.
The acids will react with the copper to create various medium/light blue copper salts, and the ammonia will react with those salts to produce darker copper ammine complexes. It's a fascinating subject, and you can find lots of videos on it here. Some are high explosives.

You haven’t got a flux capacitor in your shed have you? I would love to go back 20 years😂 Great reply man! Have you been watching breaking Bad? With your chemistry know how I could see you in a desert in a Mobile home, cooking meth 😂😂😂 Did you endure the video to the end? Where I show the Chinese attempts at cats?

@@diesel-heater-Free-Heat Yes sir, I saw those. It'll be interesting to see how they work. I have no predictions or prognostications.

I think your air filter is too restricted. If I remember correctly it will go into cool down if the air in gets above 50C

That air filter increase air flow by 15% over the standard plastic screw on grill. I put two spacing blocks to prevent vibration. Tiny 32 amp screw blocks and they melted into the exchanger fins. So it was hot 🤷‍♂️. I’ve wired the heat sensor now to except a much more heat range. Long way off melting the PPE body.

@@diesel-heater-Free-Heat I just run mine here wide open without the screen. It's only the 5kw one that I have to clamp down the top. The larger body 8kw pushes air faster and keeps its own lid in place.
I enjoy watching your videos and setup. Thanks.

@@diesel-heater-Free-Heat I've wondered about that filter. Unscrewing that intake screen seemed to increase airflow by about 20%, so that makes sense.
