- Hello! My name is Stick the Eagle (“Stick” for short) and I am currently attempting a thru hike of the Appalachian Trail. I am traveling NOBO from Georgia to Maine. If you want to follow along on my A.T. journey, don't forget to subscribe! I am currently on a pause from my hike but I only have 346 miles left to complete this year. Currently I am fulfilling my commitment and joy to scout camp which I try to do each summer. This video is a compilation of camp and celebration pictures of some of my friends on Katahdin.

That was cool to see a glimpse of camp preparations! Also, thank you so much for letting us know about your tramily's summits! It has been exciting to see the conclusion of their journeys, especially considering the 25% completion rate for the AT. They certainly deserve a big congratulations! I'm sure it's been hard on you, wishing you could be there with them, but we appreciate you letting us know. You'll be there one day!
That’s the plan!! I know I would be behind them all anyway, so it’s not so bad. My body wasn’t doing great when I stopped.

@@sticktheeagle awesome man have fun at scout camp. I have a lot of good memories from scout camp when I was younger. Troop 54 nj used to go to kmsr right by the At in jersey!

Wow, sorry to see all the storm damage, but it looks like there was a great clean up crew. Looks nice. Seeing that reminded me of when I was at Girl Scout camp, staying in those canvas tents, I still remember how they smelled. We had thunderstorms and we were all scared and upset and of course we didn't have cell phones or instant weather reports back then. Then, the outdoor tornado sirens went off. We had to stay in our tents at the bottom on a large hill because we were too far away from any buildings and it was lightning and thundering close to our tents. They finally let us walk up to the building after the storm died down a little. There was a tornado touch down not far from camp. It was terrible and I think thats why Im nervous about storms now.
The opening banquet was neat and it was good to see a lot of participation in scouts. I guess I was ahead of my time when I signed up for Boy Scouts in the Explorer firefighter training program. There seems to be many girls now.

Wow, what a story. Yes, there are quite a few girls in scouts now. You would be at home.
Congrats to the Tramily finishers ... Bugs, Bushman, Casper, PBJ, Lyric, and from the comments posted already, Gazelle too!!! Wishing continued success to Frizzle and Nickels! And check out Michael & Leo's (I suck at hiking) day 129 and 130 videos ... hurricane force winds almost out of nowhere at Mt Washington and down to Madison Hut. That's likely days 2 and 3 for when Stick gets back on trail. Very intense and glad they were o.k.

The first day back I was eating through my bear can still. Eating whatever I could, all the leftovers at camp. A bit less so now but I am still eating more than typical.

Neat to see other summer camps. All are similar yet different. Do you and the campers cook any of their meals over a fire?
Not during summer; they are made in the dining hall. But in the off-season this will be typical.
@sticktheeagle My camp was rather rustic and we stayed in big tents and cooked 1 to 3 meals a day over campfires. It was a big group effort
