FILM DESCRIPTION:
Given the runaway success of Grease, which became the biggest-grossing movie musical of all time, it was all but inevitable that there would be a sequel, and four years later this follow-up brought a new group of kids back to Rydell High. It's 1961, and Stephanie Zinone (Michelle Pfeiffer) is the tough leader of the Pink Ladies, while Michael Carrington (Maxwell Caulfield) is a clean-cut British exchange student. Michael likes Stephanie, but the Pink Ladies' by-laws prevent her from dating guys who aren't members of the T-Birds, their affiliated male gang. However, when a Zorro-like masked avenger on a motorcycle rescues Stephanie from a gang of ill-mannered toughs, she's eager to get to know the hero with the cool wheels. Any guesses as to who he might be? Eve Arden, Sid Caesar, and Dody Goodman return from the first film as members of the Rydell High faculty, while actual '50s teen icons Tab Hunter and Connie Stevens are on board as new members of the staff; Didi Conn as Frenchy is the only one of the students to appear in both movies. Patricia Birch, who served as choreographer on Grease, made her debut as a director on Grease 2; while she's remained active as a choreographer, she hasn't directed again since.

Lorna Luft was 30 years old when this movie was released. Most of the cast were far too old to be convincing as teenagers.
Her real life Mother is Judy Garland and her Sister is Lisa Minelli,so it doesn't surprise me
This film is so underrated, I love this film. Long live the 80's. 80's rocked with Fantastic music.
Fr, people hate on it because it doesn't have the cast from the original. They graduated high school, they cant go back for another year.
I really love this movie just as much as the first. The characters, the music, and that they tried to do something different than Grease, in which they succeeded.

@@scombs6543 I love this movie a little more than the first, the bad thing is that no one from the first movie is mentioned (except for Sandy and all because she is the protagonist's cousin) What I would have liked is that in scenes where there is no school, there are those from Grease 1 and 2. For example, the T-Birds of 1 and 2, and so on with the Pink Ladies, or something like that
Grease had already been made a legacy before this came out, but tbh I like grease 2 better. I feel you on the under rated part.
I have yet to see anyone's talking about the high note Johnny hits.

Seriously that note that Zmed hits is insane. His singing in the film is decent, but he needed a few more moments like that

Watched this movie just for Charles McGowan. Even though he’s just in a few parts you can tell he’s so talented and he makes every scene so much better. Wish I could find more media centered around him and his talents.

Grease 2 was styled like a Broadway musical although it wasn't based on one. Grease was originally a Broadway musical but the film isn't modeled in that fashion. That's why Grease was so embraced. It was cool to the non musical fans. Grease 2 has gained more acceptance over the years by the Glee or High School Musical type fans who appreciate stagey cheese.
Grease 2 is funnier and more entertaining
@@MicklowFilms Since the 21st century its storyline can be appreciated more. However, in the 80s, although I always dug it then, it was viewed as goofy af 🤣 Michelle Pfeiffer becoming huge also helped
@@Price70 Yeah, Michelle Pfeifer wasn’t famous back then like she is now. Grease 1 had John Travolta who was already a well known actor at that time. Grease 2 flopped and was panned by critics when it launched but has become a cult classic over the years.

Movie magic! Many of the balls were custom made out of of Styrofoam and another material so that cast could dance properly

Apparently Adrian Zmed was in unbelievable pain filming the knee slide scene after some 30 and odd takes. As he had a football related injury from earlier years where he broke a leg bone and the bone was sticking out.
