"Grease is a 1978 musical film directed by Randal Kleiser, based on the 1971 musical of the same name by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. Set in the 1950s, the film follows the summer romance between wholesome Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton-John) and greaser Danny Zuko (John Travolta). After a summer fling, Sandy unexpectedly transfers to Danny's high school, Rydell High, where they must navigate the challenges of peer pressure, social cliques, and teenage romance. The film features electrifying musical numbers, memorable characters, and a nostalgic celebration of 1950s pop culture, capturing the spirit of youth, love, and rock 'n' roll. Grease remains a beloved classic, cherished for its catchy songs, dynamic dance sequences, and enduring appeal.

Grease is one of the most best and most classic films ever...
This video is amazing, do you feel the same as me?
One of the greatest soundtracks ever!!! Such a great movie. Sad we've lost so many. ❤️🕊️🙏
Grease is the way that I’m feeling…yeah, how’s that working out.
I have the soundtrack on cd and I ❤it
To me, this movie is remembered for 2 things:
1. Catchy music
2. Having oldest cast for a movie set in high school. 🤣 I mean Stockard Channing was over 30, lol!
And RIP to Olivia Newton-John😢🌹
Yeah, and she looks awful these days. Too much plastic surgery.
Nije imao nego imala
My two favorite musicals were the ones Olivia Newton-John performed/sang in. Grease and Xanadu. Broke my heart when she died. She was a pink ribbon warrior like myself. She fought a good fight. I pray she rests well in heaven.
I love Xanadu. It's my favourite musical movieLiv died on the 42nd anniversary of Xanadu
It's so funny how we were supposed to believe these 20 and 30 year olds were in high school, but you got so into the characters that it didn't matter. The ones still with us look amazing, and RIP to the great ones we lost
Kind of the same with Welcome Back Kotter
@loboblanco4426 those guys looked like they could have had high school-age kids of their own!
Despite their obvious ages, they made it all work. They made it totally believable, and we loved all the characters.
In no shape or form was it meant to be realistic or believable. Choreographed spontaneous dance numbers and flying cars was kind of a hint
@@nsxmatt sure it was. Movies like this rely on 'suspension of disbelief.' You're supposed to accept what you're seeing as reality in order to truly enjoy a movie with flying cars and impromptu dance numbers
My aunty took me to the cinema in 1978 to see this movie. I was 9. I watch it evert time it comes on the movie channel. I’m now 54. My wife thinks I’m weird. Don’t care.
Again, lucky! I was only allowed muppet movie and sleeping beauty at age 9!
Me too😂😂 I can't stopped to see that movie❤
Grease is my favorite musical movie of all time. 10/10. John Travolta was great. Rip Olivia Newton john.
Iconic movie!…. So rewatchable!…. Never gets old!…. Classic!…. 💯
Grease is the Word. It's been my favorite since 1979
Yes,a Barry Gibb song written by a request from Robert Stigwood about the word Grease. I like it too and I love the BeeGees.❤
Awesome video from 78. I was 10 when this came out. I'm 55 now & still watch it regularly.
This video is amazing, do you feel the same as me?
Same
45 YEARS?????!!!!!!!!
OMFG!!!!! I was 15 when this movie came out.........which was like.........TWO WEEKS AGO!!!!
WHERE DID THE TIME GO?????
It's flipping scary how old this film is 😳
It's the only time I feel old is when either one of my kids reach a milestone age or a favourite film or album
Purple Rain was 40 years old awhile back and Nooo Way is it that old 😱😜🤪
😂😂😂 Me too !!!!!
Grease was the soundtrack of the Summer of '78... What a great summer to be a kid spending most of my time with friends and family at the lake listening to fun music and wondering how I was ever going to date Olivia Newton John....
Lucky! I was 9 when it was out and not allowed to see it because of the curse words. I was only allowed to see sleeping beauty and the muppet movie! These days kids see much worst!
Not a teen among them. They played their parts very well. Great movie! Miss Jeff...
"If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter" 😂😂
My all time favorite musical is GREASE
Olivia Newton John needed a GOOD BUTT SNIFFING. And I would have been there.
PART OF THE GOOD OLD DAYS
I was a junior in HS wen this movie hithe screen so I cud actually relate to some of their characters... I honestly had no clue they werent teenagers... Thats what amazing acting is all about... RIP to all those we lost😢❤❤ gone but never forgotten!
Besides Star Wars, this was the most beloved movie from the 70's for me! ✨ I still have the (very tattered) full-color movie book (with all song lyrics). My other favorite musical is Calamity Jane with Doris Day and Howard Keel! ❤️
That’s funny. I’m 50 and tell people I’ve seen Grease and Star Wars more times than any other movie ever.
I saw Grease at a drive-in movie theatre in 1978. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is an all-time favourite for me. Singin' in the Rain is another favourite.
I like chocolate and collecting guns. I mean, since we are just telling our favorite things....🤦♂️
@notaryc...yes! Seven Brides is still my favorite musical...at 78yrs old, I've probably seen it 40 times!😅
One of my favorite movies of all time!!!
Thank you for your excellent presentation of all the Grease cast.
I love the musical plays and plays from the the past and in the present😉
When i watch things like this i do think we grew up in happier and care fee days suddenly all thats gone and so are most of the cast suddenly you think oh shit i am getting old now 😊
This movie was so awesome and a classic❤
The original and best high school musical
I wish stockard channing would have left her face alone to age gracefully.
7 brides for seven brothers. Loved it as a little girl growing up in Patterson, NJ. Still love it today at 58.
7 brides for 7 brothers. The best
I didn't realise that John Travolta's sister Ellen Travolta was in Grease. How cool is that! You know I think baldness suits him. He rocks that style bless.him. I still think the film Phenomenon which Travolta was in was his best movie. He played the part with such flair and such heart, compared to Grease! Grease was really good, and I still love it, it's one of his best movies, but Phenominon was a better performance in my opinion. RIP to the cast members of Grease who have passed on. Well done to the rest of the cast who are.still going strong.
His sister Ellen was ALSO in "Saturday Night Fever." At the very beginning. She handed him the piece of pizza through the window.
Thank you for doing this video
This film is one of my top favourite musical films especially as John Travolta is my first love and will always be
Calamity Jane is always going to be No1 because of the connection with my late mum
I grew up watching musicals with her and going to watch Grease with her
Iconic classic film
🙏💜🌻💜🙏
It's shockingly frightening how bloody fast time flies. My advice : do not bloody waste it. This is it. No re go's. There really is nothing worse than regret
This. One. Of. The best moive
I liked Frankie Avalon so much when I was a teenager!😉

The biggest surprise for me was that Fannie Flagg was a co-writer on the book "Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe" which become the movie Fried Green Tomatoes with Mary Stuart Masterson.
Things I learned today. 🙂
Thanks for the fantastic movie. Surprised to see so many have gone. They were all great, but we miss you Sandra Dee.
Sandra Dee was in this movie?
@@reggieandfayegrassfield6861 Sandra Dee was the nickname of Olivia Newton John's character.
I loved greatest films 🎥 🎞 ever. 🎉😂❤❤❤❤❤

The wizard of oz
All of them!!!!
I was 12 my sister took me to see it when it first came out love it still 😊

The truth is that the High School location is actually at Huntington Park, CA. I saw some teenage girls who wore pink jackets walking around on Pacific Blvd in 2017 of Los Angeles area.
Great movie
I'll be showing my age here, but my favorite musicals are West Side Story & Fiddler on the Roof!
54 like me?
All-time favorite musical is "West Side Story" followed by "Grease" & "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."
My favorites are Grease, Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins
Geez more than half the cast is deceased. That's so sad because it's a great movie and cast. RIP!! 🙏
One of my favourite musical films was actually Grease 2 and The Pirate Movie.
What about Grease 2?😮😂
@@darnitthelma4247 fixed the misspellings. However it is Michelle Pfeiffer and that alone was awesome back then. I liked the movie for the songs and the bikes they rode.
@@csumme7 I was only teasing…yep grease 2 when I was a kid I loved! Michelle was awesome and the guy was hot! however as an adult I am not sure i would like it as much….may have to watch again
@@darnitthelma4247 wanna be a cool cool, cool, cool rider...a cool cool, cool, cool rider...yeah the songs were a lot of fun. Look closely and their bikes are all Honda 350, 360, 125, might even been a 450 in the mix but his bike was a Yamaha sx650 at the end when he was thought to have crashed. I had a VHS tape of it years ago. I would watch it a lot until I couldn't anymore.
That might be your opinion, and it was a great movie. Still like Grease 2 better though. :) @@beautifulpastusa
Sound of Music
Man...this movie set the bar for me to find my Sandy.
Nothing cooler than being a T Bird and having a Pink Lady.
I better shape up!
I was a year old when the movie was out, 😮
So …What have we learned the actor or actresses were not teenagers playing teenagers . I never understood that why not hire age appropriate actor to play the parts
The sound of music
Can we go back to the old intro ty
Movie theater up the road from me when I was 8 in 1978 held a double feature with Grease and Saturday Night Fever. Do they even have double features anymore?
My fave film.Would love to see what happened to the police academy casts
OBRIGADA!!!
At absoluty truth , Grease is my favorite musical film, altough in those year don´t was likeds me.
You should do a video of National Lampoons European vacation (1985)
I love musicals especially those from Rogers and Hammerstein "Carousel." "Sound of Music" "Oklahoma" and popular ones like "Grease" and" "Music Man."
Hi Nostalgia Hit! You are always my favorite CZcamsrs in the world and I wanted to say thank you for entertaining us with your amazing videos as always!!😊😊😊🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ keep up with your awesome videos as always baby!!❤❤❤❤❤
And my favorite Musical films I love the most is Dirty Dancing (1987)❤❤❤❤❤❤
I had a girlfriend named Sandy, guess how many times she wanted to go to the drive in to watch Grease? I wasn't complaining.🙃🙃 Went in my 1969 Plymouth convertible pictured in my thumbnail. Good times.
Eddie Deezen's story is a bit sad. His recent pic was taken when he was arrested for burglary at a nursing home. He was deemed incompetent to stand trial and was in treatment at a state facility until last January. Looks like he's living with a former manager who is his guardian.
Jeff Conaway's story is also so sad. He hurt his back in the dance scene to Greased Lightning and that got him hooked on pain killers. He spent the rest of his life with various substances addictions. I remember seeing him on Dr. Drew Celebrity Rehab and he could barely form a sentence and looked like hell. It really was tragic to see him like that after being so cool and funny on Taxi
The guy who played Eugene had a credit for the polar express,I bet he voiced the really annoying kid 👍🏼
Grease!!!
❤
Obviously, Grease, Saturday Night Fever, Footloose, Stayin Alive, West Side Story, In The Heights, and too many to remember.
grease 1 and crybaby are my favo music movies
🎉🎉🎉
Time has not been kind to this cast, they did not age well.
Only two aged well.
Marty is so pretty!
Love you Dinah.
My mother was 21 years old in the year,1978,i was a toddler,2 and half years old.
What did you think they would look like? I am shocked that they aged!!
Dinah mannof was lovely
Gonna need a couple more drinks
Really? We had to go through the entire cast? Some of them were only on screen for one or two scenes.
Seven brides for seven brothers is a great musical.
Annie was my favorite 😊
😂 the actors were in there 20s and 30s playing teenagers
I love 7 brides for 7 brothers, meet me in St. Louis . yours ,mine and ours, the wizard of Oz.
My favorite musical is Half a Six Pence
They were old when they played Grease.
I thought they were high school kids. With ages 15,16 and 17.
The Sound of Music and Fiddler on the Roof and Hairspray
West side story ❤ it..
The principal was aged 70 when filming?!?! No way!!
