44:30 those space figures take me back to when I was a kid. I was in 4th grade around the mid to late 2000’s, and I went to Kennedy space center as part of a field trip. The gift shop at the end of the day had these figures in a big tub labeled mars mission or something like that, had all these figures, 2 space shuttles and 2 rockets, lunar rovers, landers, a play mat and a mars surface rock base for the figures to stand on. Was a pretty fun toy. Pretended they were space adventures or fighting the empire in Star Wars among other things
Great vid on the space toys,several UK toy companies did space stuff with plastic helmets,it does seem like you have.....issues ..where as collecting stuff like I do,toy soldiers,action men,warhammer,historical wargames,toy cars,vinyl records cds and comics and books this is what makes me happy and if anyone trys to stop me it makes me SO MAAD AND I REALLY WANT TO........
Nice to see Army men popping up on shelves again I never really ever see any in stores anymore accept like maybe in a small package at grocery store but now they are having a come back dollar general has them now 😂 🤯 💚 I'm also a alcoholic who collects vintage toys and lives in My mom's basement 😅 this guy seems perfectly normal to ME

I actually really liked 'em, but I always saw them less as "figures" that you'd walk around going "pewpewpew" and more like "game pieces" that I'd concoct whole games around, sometimes board games, or simple bomb-lobbing games, building a neat fort, preferably destructible in a limited way, either in a sandpile or boxes, etc. It was most fun with a buddy to play against, but fun enough by yourself. So, when I saw a bag of "armymen style figures", it didn't matter if they were space, military, cowboys/indians, civil war,... to me, they were "knock over, create-your-own-game" pieces. As for it being a clear Star Wars knockoff, I actually had a very high tolerance for that sort of thing, especially at the time, the early years, because official Star Wars merch was sparse at first, so long as a knockoff’s angle was inspired and well done. It only offended me if it was poor quality or weak in style. In fact, even being official Star Wars merch that was poorly executed was inexcusable too, so it didn't get a pass with me just because it was licensed, and some of it was crap. Anyway, funny, your thumbnail had an image of particular future-ish jet that I hoped you'd cover in the video, but didn't. It's very similar, but not quite the "SPACE AGE X-WING JET FIGHTER PLANE Model #6290" made by Processed Plastics, (yeah, I had to research that up later). I had one, and even have a birthday pic of me holding it, incredibly. I shared a whole post thing over on my Instagram about it. I’ll send ya a link over on your IG account. Anyway, neat video.

Wow! I totally forgot to bring up the ship that came with the set of Galaxy laser team figures! Which is a shame because I’m sure I have one in every color now. Not to mention the BMC recolored the armored car to red with grey wheels to look like a space rover. I would love to see that birthday photo! And I love hearing peoples stories about their army men from back in the day!

There is both, military and fantasy type figurines. I collect military, but a lot of people like things like Warhammer. Don't know if it's your thing. You can also get Airfix as well as many other modelers. If you look online you should find lots of different toy companies, that do both real life military toys and fantasy based toys. BMC toys dos both to some degree. I get a lot of my soldiers from him, but if you live outside the US it's going to cost a bit on postage like I do! I'm European!

I saw medieval ones and dinosaurs. But I don't plan on getting any fantasy ones. I like Ww2 figures more!

I once got some aluminium antique soldiers from an auction site in France. I live in the UK and sometime I have to pay high prices for the shipping and postage, but I see it as a way of helping out a small company. I don't mind spending the extra cash on him! Have you ever played the 3DO games army men?

I used to have an old PC from 1993, but my dad threw it out when I was 12 in 2001. If you want to play an old game, look out for challenge of the ancient empires. I really loved that game! ) ': I'm not into fantasy really. Where I used to live I had an old box filled with fantasy figures. They were mixed in with the army men I got off eBay. I gave them to someone who lived with me because he liked fantasy! I used to paint my soldiers, but the solvent in the paint made the plastic very brittle. Thanks for telling me about classic toy soldiers, I forgot about them. There is an old game I think you will like, it's called Max 2, not to be mistaken with mad max or max pain! If you can find it, get it. It's really good for what it is.
