Alfie Boe is one of those special talents, any of his renditions on CZcams of "Bring Him Home" can bring you to tears. For my money the best Valjean, and that's not meant as a slight at the previous performers of that role. His voice just has a power that is missing from the others.
I sing all the time...in my house. Then I hear people like Alfie and think, "maybe I should shut up."
He sounds like Janick Gers a little if you close your eyes. Not just the accent, but his calmness and cadence too.
