    👍👍make sure you check your caravan aircon manual for power consumption and start up power requirements before choosing the correct power ,you may need the ac200L or even the ac300 if you want to run the aircon on some vans ,if you’ve got the money an ac300 and two b300 batteries will run any van all night. Yes a lot of money but you’ll have the ability to run anything anywhere 👍👍plus bluetti is now available at Bunnings,so Australia wide backup. I’ve been seriously looking at them for a while now and you really need to get your calculator out and decide cost of units into costs of plug ins at van park or were ever, cost of purchasing and running a generator and the value you place on the ability to go off grid and still have it all 👁️👁️😎😇❤️🇦🇺

      Our caravan can handle off grid just not the air-conditioning. This Bluetti will be used mainly for Tracie to use the computer during the night but also when we are in the swag. Thanks for watching 👀

    Hi guys , great video. I just bought one last week, its a great unit, I have been testing the ac180 at home for my caravan. As carting a generator with its footprint and weight wasn't great. Its an amazing unit and using it in the ute as a 2nd battery and it being portable outside the ute is a game changer! Also the power grid at our rural home isn't as reliable with at least 2-3 power outages over a year. Its able to run the pump from our water tank so at least we have water in the house. Great review look forward to your next vid!

    Did you just plug the Bluetti into side of caravan (using 10amp to 15 amp) ?
    Could you then run your 3way on 240v ? Long time subscriber!

      We did in the video via a 15w extension and a convertor from house power to caravan power.

    I liked the idea of having one of these as a back up, but after watching the video I checked out the bluetti website and for this model it says NOT to run air conditioner or washing machine, so you didn't read the instructions properly and if bluetti approved your video that is false claims about that product 😮

    • @rossharvey1496
      @rossharvey1496 Před měsícem +2

      If you do not have an inverter "soft start' air con then the start-up power drain will trip most set-ups. Jon said his was an inverter type so the Bluetti was obviously up to task with a softer initial draw. I think he said the Bluetti has a 2700 Watt capacity and I know I could run our van's air con from a 2000W generator. It isn't all that simple (like max amp draw, cable thickness etc.) but it looked like it wasn't going to trip. Having said that I'd not want to trash the warranty if the instructions do not recommend running such things as you mentioned.

      @onlyleavingfootprints  Před měsícem

      Thank you for watching - In response to your comment we would not use this on a household aircon however it was shown in our video that it could run our caravan air con -here is what the people at Bluetti say.... The AC180 is a portable power station, and whether it can run an air conditioner depends on the power requirements of the air conditioner and the output capabilities of the Bluetti AC180. Here are some key parameters:
      - Bluetti AC180:
      - Output Power: 1800W (rated), 2700W (surge)
      - Battery Capacity: 1152Wh
      - Typical Household Air Conditioners**:
      - Small portable air conditioners typically have power requirements ranging from 500W to 1500W.
      - Medium or large air conditioners can require power above 1500W.
      If you're looking to power a small portable air conditioner with a power draw within the 1800W output range of the Bluetti AC180, then it should be able to run it. However, if the air conditioner requires more than 1800W, the Bluetti AC180 might not be able to sustain it, especially considering the surge power required during startup.
      To provide a precise answer, you need to determine the specific power requirements of your air conditioner and compare them with the output capacity of the Bluetti AC180.

    Hi. You did all the testing and was your fridge running on AC at the same time? Also, is your fridge 3way or compressor? Where do you go to get the discount?

    • @onlyleavingfootprints
      @onlyleavingfootprints  Před měsícem

      The fridge is a 3 way fridge so when off grid and needing the bluetti then the fridge would be on gas.
      The code and link is in the description. Thanks for watching

      @user-ph2ys8el3g Před měsícem +1

      When you plug in the Bluetti to the AC point of your van and run the whole van on AC, I Would assume that your fridge would have been now running on AC, not gas.

    • @onlyleavingfootprints
      @onlyleavingfootprints  Před 19 dny

      @@sonjaparkin9920 for us it is enough IF we don't continue travelling full time. We have managed so far without one but Tracie does tend to drain the batteries when she stays up late with the Starlink going and computer etc. So having one has worked well in those instances. I think if we travelled again in the middle of summer then with the heat we experienced a bigger battery system is needed to run the air con for alot longer then the Bluetti would be able to stay charged for

    • @onlyleavingfootprints
