STOP SHOWING OFF!
*Not bad for a 37 year old with more metal in his body than Iron Man.*
Lmao I just belly laughed at this
My man Guy is a fearless legend.... top bloke too when I met him at a Suzuki track day a few years ago!
@@YOGINIO guy Martin is autistic aswell and so am i and if he can do it i can (makes me confident)
Is he actually 37
Winston Churchill wow! I just thought he’d suffered one too many crashes.
are you nervous the para asks. he hangs of a bike at 200mph whilst scraping he's lid of a pub wall. 😂😂
The difference is that Guy knows exactly what he's capable with on a bike. It's within his comfort zone. This is a totally different scenario, with somebody making sure you're completely stripped of your humanity.
@@Metal-Possum I get what you're saying. I've personally been on that trainasium. it's scary but not like they're making out. hanging off a bike at the speeds he does is much worse.
@@Metal-Possum the difference is that here, if you fall you're fairly guaranteed to still be alive & not get injured even but on a bike, if you're off, you're practically dead, or at least seriously injured. Don't matter if he's capable or not.
He's got guts but here is a guy well used to pressure and the need to react quickly, struggling to react to commands instinctively.
Try been checked into a maximum prison for a few years where your stripped search on a constant basis. That is an attempt to strip humanity. This is entertainment Alex, made for people to get all excited about, nothing more.
Guy can put his mind to anything 👍🏼 top English bloke
Latvian methinks
Odd bod junior from carry on screaming me thinks.
Irishman I believe
@@aaronleno4723 guy Martin is Irish,
That explained the grin, thick black hair, and blue eyes.
He is entertaining though.
@@j.4354 according to Aaron he is Irish,
I'm not fussed either way
I watched the documentary Guy and had to choke back emotions listening to the old Paras recounting their experiences on D Day, we all need to be so grateful to everyone who served then and those who are still serving for our freedom today. I'm really impressed how you took on this endeavor in your usual thorough and respectful manner, your Grandfather would be extremely proud of you. Well done mate 👍
When was it on and what channel mate?
They do a damn good job of making it real for him. He's got a choice.... Doesn't HAVE to do any of it. The look in his eyes? Yep, he's scared. Good job on the NCOs
I don't think he'd want to try it the "soft" way.
I'm glad they went a bit tough on him. Wish they went 100% but he still got a good taste
They dont dwendele its nothing like it
I am was an American 82nd Paratrooper an I was scared for him. we did nothing like that in our training!
@@markthompson4885 The british Paras don't either, this was a special course built for the show, after historical models.
Great stuff - I did this nearly 50 years ago and it was scary but I reckon Guy is more than up to it. Top bloke.
thank you for serving Sir.
Thanks - appreciated @@moorshound3243
same here, shuffle bars are not great when wet!
Back in the day, when I was doing my R Sigs detachment commanders course, we had a confidence test day, that is to say to take us to something that was completely outside of our remit and comfort zone. The scuttlebutt was that it was either to be the Paras trimnasium or the Helicopter dunk tank at Yeovilton.
As it turned out we headed to Yeovilton. Hand on heart, I was absolutely delighted to be repetitively half drowned given the alternative.
wow. a living legend,
Then guy said " fancy riding a motorbike around the tt at 200mph with me?" Who's scared now!!
Staff says " time to try for our first heart attack"
guy says "ok, Bray Hill it is so..flying lap , make it easy on you.."
Then staff replied with "fancy being in a combat situation where people are trying to kill you? Who's scared now??"
@@stub8058 same as the bike is trying to kill Guy lol
@@jkorkea Guy sets up his bike and makes the decisions on the track. Please don't get me wrong, he's a legend and has balls the size of small planets, maybe even large ones. But the simple fact is, if somebody is shooting at you trying to kill you, that's another level.
No it is not, with both situations the smallest mistake and you're dead. The end.
The more I learn about Guy the more I love this man! A special mention to the Sgt. Major, he and men like him have kept more soldiers, sailors and Marines alive than we will ever know. God bless the Senior NCOs!
i am supremely glad the see Guy taking this seriously! those boys at the beginning will have to do this for real, and for Guy to take it as seriously as he is, shows the level of respect he has for those boys and all who came before them...and like others have said...the fear in Guy's eyes is real...
He's definitely a top bloke, anything he does he shows respect to the people he's working with.
Big difference is Guy is an adult, he has strength of mind, knows how to control fear, how to make himself act. Young recruits, they are still kids in their minds.
Holy Cow! I kind of wish the U.S. would incorporate this into it's Airborne training program. Great video!
Sincerely, an American friend.

AIRBORNE MATE!😎🤒🪂🇬🇧🇺🇸
A lot of US paratrooper training was created in WW2 based on training the British Paras. They share a lot of training to this day. So I;d be very surprised if they did not have this.
Guy you are one of the greatest human beings to walk this earth. Courage levels are ridiculous.
Guy you are the best man alive
What about any person who has won the VC or GC?
then there's daley thompson, absolute legend.
My great grandmother sewed parachutes and paratrooper uniforms for US army while my great grandfather was fighting. She was a tough old bird I miss her.
Also Im not going to lie, that obstacle course looks like the best jungle gym ever
GRENAAAADE!!! *literally tries to dig in with eye lids* 😂 A+ for listening to orders
All weather motorbiker for 5 years in England really kills your fears..
Haha, second to that! You end up riding in shit weather which car drivers don't even want to touch!;)))) I don't know which was the worst, riding 137miles on the motorway with a Yellow warning for wind around midnight, or 10-20m visibility fog on A30-A303 London-Exeter midnight-ish, in equatorial heavy rain doing 90-95mph just to get the water off from my visor, London - Exeter, and constantly blinded by the string of traffic coming from Bristol to London past 8pm in October, riding my dream bike / had it only for 3 weeks / back home from work - 6 miles - in 1 inch deep fresh snow in Bristol, or to ride the same bike a year later in heavy snow for 15 miles at night...
@@V4zz33 february storms about 5 years back i was a motorcycle courier. rode from london to oxford and back. moment i realised this was pretty risky for £1.50 a mile was when i got blown from the fast lane onto the hard shoulder in one gust. called in and went home. i was just lucky the roads were relatively quiet.
@@RageAZA Wow, well, happy to be able to read your comment! That was a close call! Yeah, glad that nothing was around you, otherwise you could have been in a big pinch...
Luckily I was only shifted 1 lane once, that was scary enough...
Haha, let's just ride reasonably;))))
so does dispatch riding in the 80s on japlop tyres
Yeah. Watch that bullet!!!!!!
Just love guys expressions he makes lolol
Watched the full programme and it was absolutely brilliant , well done Guy you never let us down.
I watched it on your recommendation. Thank you.
One thing that remains the same... to be a Paratrooper you must first volunteer!
U.P. x
The Airborne Brotherhood.
Balls of steel, well done fella !!
Absolute legend
Bloody frightening. It'll look a lot higher when you're up there.
Especially in the fog. I've gone bungee jumping in the fog before haha, it was something else.
Massive respect to you Guy,mind you,you didnt look a happy bunny when the instructor was in your face! You do some brilliant programmes, keep them coming, and a Scania man to boot!!
He did alot better than I could've
Always knew guy had huge balls, this just confirms it
Guy has become a National treasure........
Well done Lad...
"Right foot over, left foot over and at the end you be thankful its over" 🤣
I bet if this whole structure was maybe a meter above the ground it'd probably be like a child's playground but being 6 stories up with a bunch of guys yelling at you probably fucks with your mind pretty badly
I'm amazed how cool Guy stays. Could be editing but, staying cool at dangerous things is the hardest thing. And he just does it. Not many can do that. Quite admirable.
Poor Guy is an older man with lots of past injuries like multiple broken bones and tears from his past and did quite well compared to the age of the average soldier.
Blotted what difference does it make, bravery often increases with age
Well done Guy. I failed the Trinazium twice but thankfully, my Company Commander, (Capt Hew Pike) let me through and I did my jumps at Lazy A.
@low7782 He told me it was the first time he'd ever let anyone through but he was (rightly as it turned out) certain I'd jump and I imagine he was under pressure re numbers of recruits.
We did our jumps at Weston-on-the-Green.
Touch your toes.....stop showing off 😆😆😆😆
Guy knows how to face fear 👌🏻
Fear is Guy’s happy place - Just watch him race! Absolute legend 👊✊💨
I'm 34 live at home with my mum and an unemployed airsofter , this is easy I could do it blindfold even though I once shat myself climbing a stepladder to put the fairy on the Christmas's tree, the SAS wanted our airsoft team to join but we said no as we are not allowed out without our inhalers.
BULLSHIT...why would the SAS want anything to do with your? 34 years old, still live with mummy and run around with BB guns...mate...GET A FUCKING LIFE. In reality your legs would shake that much you'll piss yourself on Tarzan and pretty much the same reaction if you ever was called out by the SAS. Not heard so much bullshit in all my life you low life sad fuck.
DSLeicester Do you think, maybe, just maybe, there is a slight possibility that he was joking...
@@JustAnOrdinarySimmer Whooosh, that one flew over your head a little didnt it
@@JustAnOrdinarySimmer hear that? It's the sound of the joke flying over your head
@@James-nf9pd Hear that? it's the sound of an idiot who feels the need to write an almost identical comment to the previous.
What a blast from the past this was for me (mid-80's). I did the trainasium 4 times from between the ages of 16 to 18, and really didn't think much of it. It was just another shitty day of getting shouted at in the drizzle. I don't recall seeing those safety nets at 0:27 either. Might be wrong? I think I would be shitting myself if I had to do it now.
The worst one I did was the 'Confidence course' at Sandhurst, and in particular, the high parallel bars! You had to stand on them then look dirictly up, whilst shouting your name, rank & number. THAT was scary, as you lose balance when you look up. Your reward was an epic zipline ride across the lake to finish, with Staff throwing thunderflashes into the lake under you. Real Rambo stuff!
That hilarious I used to do mountain climbing when I was younger and went to go do it the last day and I tell you the legs were vibrating much more fearless when your younger
Every new video i see of this man makes me like and respect him more and more.
I love Guy Martin, stepping out of his comfort zone!
awesome!
im not sure those people could ride even 150km/h at the TT and not die :D
You mean 300 km/h and YES I would :)) (And have both!)
At least you know he has no fear .... and balls of steel. No hesitation in him.
Ah, the same guy who narrates SAS: Who Dares Wins
I hope the narrator recovers from his Laryngitis.
If you have the type of character that will commit itself entirely to doing what is necessary, then you can succeed at any task you want to achieve. This is the aim of military training. By removing any undesirable character traits of the recruit, by breaking people’s natures down, any old doubts and fears of that person die along with their old character. All that is left is your training and with that comes the confidence and the belief that you can and will meet any challenges you face. It’s profound. Well done to you, Guy.
Getting him to quote his number and name , tells the instructor if the recruit is coping , or not.
Hats off to Guy, dude's had alot of injuries, broken bones, still moving!
Guy is good at this because although the disciplines are different, it’s about facing and overcoming fear.
I just love the way they treat him
Guy looked totally overwhelmed by the tough treatment he received from the seargant major and his selection team. Not suprising looking at the trainesium; an assault course 6 storeys off the ground. The risks he took performing the selection were horrendous; broken bones and potentially death from a broken neck should he fall. He then went through 'combat innoculation': a process where instructors tell the recruits to sprint then shout "grenade!!", the recruit must then drop and crawl before sprinting to a tyre obstacle and being pushed under it, through it 3-4 times before a boxing match to see if he could show controlled aggression.
This guy does the TT with no fear,he ain,t afraid of no scaffold.
Guy is such a great guy.
Guy Martin Rocks. He is such a dude!
You should do a video explaining your mentality when it comes to overcoming fears- maybe an explanation of what's going through your head when cornering at 200mph
MrMrilikepie1234
Nothing is going through your head in those moments. That’s the reason
watch "closer to the edge" might give you an idea
Nice one Sharkey 👍
Put the instructor on a Tyco BMW on the TT course and see who has the biggest balls XD.
What if the DS rides a bike? Maybe he does trackdays.. while the chances are slim that the instructor would be able to smash a 132 average at the TT, the same would be true in his profession, totally different worlds, but the outcomes for getting it wrong are the same.
I have a lot of respect for our armed forces but just watching a TT onboard is scary.
@@Jagdpanzer-bh4pb absolutely bud 100% the TT is silly, I know a few riders and they all have some screw loose. I was just making the point that both Jobs take a huge amount of balls really. Massive respect for both of them.
it is surprising how many forces personnel do ride bikes,
on the road and on the track for the adrenalin rush it gives
deffo not the same as the TT but deffo up there
@@davexvs absolutely agree bud, it's certainly not the TT, but I don't think it's a case of lacking balls, just skill 😂
A massive thankyou to all the armed forces.
That was intense, well done!
he looks and sounds like Karl Pilkinton when his head is shaved lol
I don't know why, but I found the way Guy flopped to the floor at 7:04 hilarious
Respect guy, ive been on that same one myself when i was in the paras 👍
Such a likable bloke, Guy doesn't make out to be anything other than Guy, Top geezer just like the late great Fred Dibnah.
Respect, he smashed it
Guy is such a good sport. He always does everything asked of him in every situation. 😊👍
I highly recommend registering with Channel 4 and watching the film; it's outstanding.
Total Respect!
This is how a goat qualifies to walk on cliffs
Fair play to Guy....I did get the impression he was more courageous and less hesitant than some of the recruits....he gets stuck in.....fair play.
Staff: Are you nervous?
Martin: No Staff
Staff: You will be
Anyone doing this course for the first time would be nervous. Even someone used to edge of the seat racing on the TT at full throttle got some nerves up during that, not surprisingly. I've seen loads of people walk back down from a 10m diving platform where you're at least going to land in water. This is 18m.....
Damn STORROR would love this
