His friend and co creator of the Marvel that we know, Jack Kirby, left to draw and create the artwork for DC and Stan was happy for him. Stan said that DC inspired him to create many characters. He said that Justice League Of America was so revolutionary with a team of heroes and that inspired him to create The Avengers and Xmen.
I think they should make a marvel game where you create your character pick if you are an alien, inhuman, mutant, or empowered human then you can join factions, that matter what race you are, mutant you can join dark brotherhood or x men of course, you can choose to be good, evil or neutral like dark brotherhood but be in the Avengers after...This would make a great game...
What if in a sequel, They do a ME type character customization, you could be Pro-mutant, Against mutants, have him be Neutral (Branching off on VERY different stories and things)

Yep X-Men Legends was a masterpiece. Also when you compare the enemy variety, the length of the game and the amount of playable characters its confusing as to why modern X-Men games seem so lazy by comparison. X-Men Legends was better than any X-Men game that came out since.

I liked how Marvel made their characters to be heroes that a lot of people hated. It was a good contrast compared to how most people in DC idolized their heroes. Because of Marvel, most DC writers started making their heroes to be something that many didn't trust or feared. Like Batman and Superman. In reality, most wouldn't completely like them cause they are above the law. They are vigilantes that don't typically deal with judicial laws. Which is why I loved The Killing Joke and the Injustice game. It was a perfect example of how someone like Superman could easily conquer the world if he wanted to. Then who could stop him ?

I don't say Marvel Studios make only masterpieces. Iron Man 3, Iron Man 2, Thor Dark World and The Avengers 2 was bad, but it earned a lot of money, so nobody said a word. Guardians, Cap 2, Iron Man 1 and Daredevil were great, but the rest was just ok. I just said it's sad that they are seperate, you know - no Scarlet Witch in X-Men, no Mutants in MCU.
I was just going to comment the same thing. It should have character creation, make your own powers, online multiplayer and in the local coop maybe the people you are playing with to be able to play as a member of the X-Men.
Caliban is not a new mutant, he made a couple cameos in the 90's x-men animated series, and in the comics was even one of Apocalypse's horseman in 92, which would make him a better choice for a horseman than 3/4 of the picked ones in the last x-men movie
Don't forget that a running theme in the comics was, for the longest time, that mutants were the next step in evolution and would eventually replace normal humans. Other super heroes are happy accidents, but mutants were portrayed as being nature's way of stamping out the human race as we know it. And you're totally right: characters like Kelly, Trask and Magneto's actions really did a number of human/mutant relations.
The IGN review of Destiny is ridiculous. All the guy say's is "Button Masher". But Joe goes into great detail here...and for X-Men fans like myself it's good. I'v just purchased the game right now for a dirt cheap price and i'm pretty much certain i'l get my money's worth.

I do agree with Joe, if there had been character creation, that alone would've brought it up to an 8. Add in maybe the school, free roam, and perhaps classes to make that RPG feeling, it woulda gotten a 9 and a badass seal of approval. :( Even with limited powers (I mean, we can't have it all) It would've been great.
6 is fair. As a xmen lover, picking it up for $5, I'm impressed with the fan service. The combat is simpler than I'd expect, but the powers variety make up for it.
Caliban is actually a classic x-men character. He was introduced In the 80's. He was one of the morlocks, hideous mutants that hid from humans in the sewers of NewYork. He's shown up several times in the comics even without his Morlock bretheren. He's always been a side character, and never really committed to joining the x-men for the fear of the outside world. Just thought this X-men would give some info just in case anyone wanted it.

In my opinion an X-men RPG would be an amazing idea one where you could create you're own character and choose you're path if you want to be evil and join the brotherhood or good and join the X-men but have diffrent stories and side quests depending on you're morality choice and also give you the ability to create you're own powers sort of like DC Universe Online only not an MMO in my opinion this would be fantastic not only because I love RPG's but also the X-men universe would be the perfect theme for an RPG

Surely the Arkam City franchise has shown devs that there is HUGE potential for an in depth, well written super hero game. Imagine a well thought out X-Men game with next gen graphics with all the enjoyment of B.A.C.

Origins is a good game, but the single player only and the stupid Sentinel fight makes it stop being fun. In legends you can play with 3 of your friends and in legends 2 you get to be the brotherhood, plus Iron Man and TONS of alternate outfits.
They can always have Melee type characters have something like a gap closer or teleport and make them a bit more bursty than the Ranged type, and to counter that Ranged type characters can be kite-reliant in order to succeed. It's just thought.
My favorite power so far is the Dark Matter. The final ability turns you pretty much into an angel of death and you just descend on people tearing them apart with your dark matter blades. It was pretty awesome.
Why does Cyclopes always gets hate? He's badass. I remember a moment in the comics where a Sentinel grabs Cyclops then says, "You can't activate your visor without your hands. Hahahaha." Or whatever. Cyclops then laughs and says, "I don't need my hands." He then snaps his fingers and shoots out a beam right at the Sentinel's head. Priceless
Stan Lee was truly one of a kind. He was like the Rod Serling of comics. And just like Rod, there will never be another Stan. Stan went on a creation kick where he was coming up with good comic book concepts one after the other. He created The Fantastic Four, Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, and The Xmen all in a short time period. Stan changed how we looked at comics and proved that good storytelling could exist within them.
I picked this game up second hand for just 3 quid off amazon. I 100%ed it with ease in just 8-9 hours and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot. The story is good and the characters are cool. Characters building is fun and picking skills and costumes with all kinds of different abilities is awesome. You got fire, frost or shock. You can run super fast, fly around or you can even put toads utility belt on and hop your way there . Slow time down with a full quicksilver rig or enter berserker mode with wolverines full set, and there's so much more. Combat is great when you get some op skills. Really can't complain for 3 quid. Based on the price, time to complete and fun playing I'd give it an 8/10 and say it's a must play for any achievement hunters or marvel fans out there.
The best thing you can do for this game is going with a open mind if you can get past the fact you can't make your own X-Men or you're not playing as a wolverine or magneto you'll be doing fine because it's a fun as hell game
BreakBitz or an orphan, or some random dude from a strange organization, they should do it like in DA where you create your own character, choose your powerset, and your alligeance and can have a team of X Men or Brotherhood mutants with you

Question: Did you try the Wii version of this game? Trust me if you did you'll be singing a different tune about it. The upgrades, customization, and outfits aren't done well on the Wii version. In fact The Wii version is so toned down and half done I've finished the game, with all 3 characters and powers, in less than a hour. Don't believe me. Try it yourself.
Champions Online was originally going to be this. But when Marvel was bought by Disney, the project was dropped. Cryptic then finished it based on a lesser known superhero universe.

No, being popular would be the lamest super power ever. While not very good, it may have its uses...provided that he blocks everything with said adamantite face adornment, which is rather small in proportion to his body. My suggestion, learn to block damn well, Joe, or trade it in for "Take more than 2 mothertrucking hits"
Waited for the price drop and wasn't disappointed. Playing as old and familiar x-men is cool and all but to play through a story with a new mutant with new powers was interesting.
Xavier didn't just die. Cyclops, with the Phoenix Force, after being a mega douche when he started as someone who wanted to help, just killed Xavier. So yeah... You can see why Cyclops has his issues now. He fucking killed his mentor, mercilessly. And even Magneto told him to stop blaming it on the Phoenix.
I think Bethesda, makers of Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3, would make a great Xmen game in an RPG setting. You make your own character and develop whatever powers you want. Interact with super heroes and normal citizens that give you quests. Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls kind of felt like a Xmen game, just in a fantasy setting.
Actually Caliban appears in the TV series, when he kidnaps Jubilee and lures her into the Morlock base underground. In the comics was Kitty Pride the one kidnapped, but whatever.

Joe I'm late to this video. but I just want to say I died laughing when you demonstrated your mutant powers. I can honestly say I did not see that coming.
I do agree with Joe, if there had been character creation, that alone would've brought it up to an 8. Add in maybe the school, free roam, and perhaps classes to make that RPG feeling, it woulda gotten a 9 and a badass seal of approval. :(

As a xmen lover, picking it up for $5, I'm impressed with the fan service.
The combat is simpler than I'd expect, but the powers variety make up for it.
Caliban is actually a classic x-men character. He was introduced In the 80's. He was one of the morlocks, hideous mutants that hid from humans in the sewers of NewYork. He's shown up several times in the comics even without his Morlock bretheren. He's always been a side character, and never really committed to joining the x-men for the fear of the outside world.
Just thought this X-men would give some info just in case anyone wanted it.

As a Marvel fanboy (or fangirl, whatevs), I'm appalled that this game even exist. An x-men game where the X-men are just side characters and NPCs? Wtf. I'm still waiting for that ultimate x-men game too.

We've had plenty of other games where you played as the X-Men, I thought it was time where you got the chance to build up your own character and gave them your choice of powers. The execution might not have been perfect but I appreciate it for what it tried to do at least.
Also, I think at this point we'll never get an Ultimate X-Men game. Marvel's been pushing the X-Men brand out as of late (including video games) and the series ended like 6 years ago. =/
Yeah, the last best one was X-Men Legends. imo. Wish there could be a game like that. I'm pretty sure consoles are able to do that style of game this gen. But better mechanics of course.

But alas from what I've read Marvel has apparently been telling developers that they don't want the X-Men to get their own games anymore. Or at least for a while. It has to do with them trying to decrease their relevance because of their beef with Fox. =/
In my opinion an X-men RPG would be an amazing idea one where you could create you're own character and choose you're path if you want to be evil and join the brotherhood or good and join the X-men but have diffrent stories and side quests depending on you're morality choice and also give you the ability to create you're own powers sort of like DC Universe Online only not an MMO in my opinion this would be fantastic not only because I love RPG's but also the X-men universe would be the perfect theme for an RPG

Surely the Arkam City franchise has shown devs that there is HUGE potential for an in depth, well written super hero game. Imagine a well thought out X-Men game with next gen graphics with all the enjoyment of B.A.C.
Where you get to play as Nightcrawler in stealth mode? That would be cool. And you could have beast or wolvie in normal combat, and aerial sessions with angel or Jean? I could go on and on and on and on and on.....
2017, and just now seeing this. that's awesome that you're an xmen 90s cartoon fan too. I will have to give this game a chance, at least for the boss battles.
a modern ps3/ps4 game where you can play as both the x men and the brotherhood and where you can play as apocalypse as a bonus for completing the hardest mode that would be great

Jack Wagner i know they were going for the comic book look but that really look outdated the movie licence game of origins wolverine was pretty good (dispute how terrible the movie was) now if only they could do that with every x men character

Origins is a good game, but the single player only and the stupid Sentinel fight makes it stop being fun. In legends you can play with 3 of your friends and in legends 2 you get to be the brotherhood, plus Iron Man and TONS of alternate outfits.
Why can't we have an x-men rpg?
They can always have Melee type characters have something like a gap closer or teleport and make them a bit more bursty than the Ranged type, and to counter that Ranged type characters can be kite-reliant in order to succeed. It's just thought.

My favorite power so far is the Dark Matter. The final ability turns you pretty much into an angel of death and you just descend on people tearing them apart with your dark matter blades. It was pretty awesome.
Why does Cyclopes always gets hate? He's badass. I remember a moment in the comics where a Sentinel grabs Cyclops then says, "You can't activate your visor without your hands. Hahahaha." Or whatever. Cyclops then laughs and says, "I don't need my hands." He then snaps his fingers and shoots out a beam right at the Sentinel's head. Priceless

Stan Lee was truly one of a kind. He was like the Rod Serling of comics. And just like Rod, there will never be another Stan. Stan went on a creation kick where he was coming up with good comic book concepts one after the other. He created The Fantastic Four, Spiderman, The Incredible Hulk, and The Xmen all in a short time period. Stan changed how we looked at comics and proved that good storytelling could exist within them.
I still hope for an awesome X men game
I picked this game up second hand for just 3 quid off amazon. I 100%ed it with ease in just 8-9 hours and I have to say I enjoyed it a lot. The story is good and the characters are cool. Characters building is fun and picking skills and costumes with all kinds of different abilities is awesome. You got fire, frost or shock. You can run super fast, fly around or you can even put toads utility belt on and hop your way there . Slow time down with a full quicksilver rig or enter berserker mode with wolverines full set, and there's so much more. Combat is great when you get some op skills. Really can't complain for 3 quid. Based on the price, time to complete and fun playing I'd give it an 8/10 and say it's a must play for any achievement hunters or marvel fans out there.
If it had more powers and customizeable characters and they let you pick your faction at the start of the game it would be badass
i want an x-men game that's kinda like dragon ball xenoverse but with an x-men theme.
The best thing you can do for this game is going with a open mind if you can get past the fact you can't make your own X-Men or you're not playing as a wolverine or magneto you'll be doing fine because it's a fun as hell game

I hope they make another game like this but really go all out with it... it sounds pretty fun... great concepts just needed more development and maybe a better team and it could have been great.

Trust me if you did you'll be singing a different tune about it. The upgrades, customization, and outfits aren't done well on the Wii version. In fact The Wii version is so toned down and half done I've finished the game, with all 3 characters and powers, in less than a hour. Don't believe me. Try it yourself.

Champions Online was originally going to be this. But when Marvel was bought by Disney, the project was dropped. Cryptic then finished it based on a lesser known superhero universe.

you know i saw xmen dofp the movie it was fantastic i even started to think about xmen DOFP the gameplay and i say y they make an xmen gameplay when you can make an xmen online gameplay imagine you are mutant that have to chose between two ways the brotherhood or xmen with the brotherhood yur going to live in genosha and with the xmen yur going to live in the school and in both ways yur going to learn how to use yur mutant abilities .......different abilities like telepot or shapeshifting + agility super speed and freez time like quicksilver and more different powers ...a game that contains all xmen stories like xmen dofp and xmen apocalypse and all xmen adventure and yur journey against the anti mutant and the sentinels a back storie of yur own whene you can say where you came from whene you discovered yur mutant powers. man if this game was real it 's going to beat all online games such as dcuo because every won want to be a mutant every won want to be the mutant not the super hero or not the super villian a mutant that have other problems than catching criminals marvel if you reading this please make xmen the online game

While not very good, it may have its uses...provided that he blocks everything with said adamantite face adornment, which is rather small in proportion to his body. My suggestion, learn to block damn well, Joe, or trade it in for "Take more than 2 mothertrucking hits"

Waited for the price drop and wasn't disappointed. Playing as old and familiar x-men is cool and all but to play through a story with a new mutant with new powers was interesting.
I'm shore that's the next step in X-men games, making your own avatar, The shadow matter powers was awesome in my opinion!

Xavier didn't just die. Cyclops, with the Phoenix Force, after being a mega douche when he started as someone who wanted to help, just killed Xavier.
So yeah... You can see why Cyclops has his issues now. He fucking killed his mentor, mercilessly. And even Magneto told him to stop blaming it on the Phoenix.
The Vision Thought it was the Phoenix that killed Xavier. Have you watched X-Men The Last Stand? In fact...Jean kills Cyclops too in one of the films.

I think Bethesda, makers of Elder Scrolls and Fallout 3, would make a great Xmen game in an RPG setting. You make your own character and develop whatever powers you want. Interact with super heroes and normal citizens that give you quests. Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls kind of felt like a Xmen game, just in a fantasy setting.
