It's not just all the fees and taxes that FBA Sellers need to pay that causes the prices on Amazon to be so much more expensive than on Temu. It's also the humongous profits that these greedy middleman (FBA Sellers) are taking. Something your video failed to emphasize.

It's a data theft business . They are malware.
They are owned by CCP officials.
If you've ever browsed through social media, chances are you've come across advertisements that seem to offer pretty good deals. And when you click through, you find yourself on a Chinese marketplace. One of these is Shein, a fashion retail company based in Nanjing, China. The other is Temu, an online marketplace similar to Amazon, but based out of China, and with most of its goods shipped directly from China. These companies are now coming under scrutiny, both in the United States and in the European Union. And as the controversy unfolds, there's a chance policies could affect them in a similar way to the Tik Tok restrictions.

I do computer service and IT work. I needed 50 laptop adapters and found them for about $7 each. This is about $1.50 cheaper each vs eBay. The ones I get from eBay always work. The 50 units I received from China were All defective, not one worked. I was told I could get a refund, or replacement, upon shipping the item back. I checked with the major delivery services that ship to China, and the best price I could find to return the items was $600 !!! That's almost double what I paid for them. So in short, I was screwed. You are right, I bought from a shady company, yes Temu is a shady company. You should look into the lawsuit that the attorney general and the state of Arkansas are bringing against them because they have found out that the tmu app installed on your phone goes to the root level of the programming for the Android or iPhone and it records and sense to them all of the information you type in on your keyboard as well as listening to the mic and operating into the camera. I know these days everybody's collecting some kind of information for marketing, but they are actually collecting keystroke information from the phone so that it can be duplicated and used to steal people's account information. It has been shown that even deleting the app from your phone does not uninstall the spyware that they've installed on the phone. The phone has to have a factory reset to clear that out. I agree. DC Politics should create higher level criteria to what imported goods are made of or come from. If that’s calculated in import fees or this means banning cheap knock-of quality products, the market would be a lot healthier and blossom a more level playing field. You can’t trust on commercial giants to protect the market and think of others and the greater good. This is where government should step in to protect consumers, local sellers, employees and all others who are negatively affacted by these race-to-the-bottom competitions. You can’t trust on Chinese production criteria either. Someday we’ll pay the price of today’s Chinese bargain. In health issues (paint, plastics), in climate change or increasing US unemployments and bankrupties. Not to mention spiraling values and principles in our humane society. Buying on Temu is not only affecting Amazon, but you’re robbing American business owners and the US economy, so your fellow Americans as well! If you think about it, they also gather everything about you and your customers: what pricing works best, what your customers prefer, what they want improved, how much you spend on advertising, and more...and before you know it (happened to me), they have their own "Amazon branded" product placed right on top of yours, that you cannot possibly compete with because this "new competitor who you also work for" knows everything about you and every move you made

I’ve been a regular Amazon shopper for over ten years. But in the last year I discovered Temu and SHEIN. I started shopping once a month from each of them. This is how I do it. I’m particular about my shopping system. It’s always a balance between a need and a want. First I would need an item. Then I shop for it on Amazon and other US merchants. Since I only shop on Temu once a month I take my time shopping inside US first compare prices compare qualities then scrutinize all these variables with what Temu offers for a third of a price. I pick my items hold them on Temu cart while I’m still vetting the same items from US sellers. Then almost at the end of the month once I’ve exhausted my research and Temu offers what I think is the best option in all the categories then I click buy. Lately Temus shipping has been speedier. But SHEIN has faster delivery time than Temu.

I have two grown boys but when they were young I taught them the principle of needs and wants. And they have developed the same habits.
Two days ago I purchased a down alternative bed topper for one of our beds. Went back and forth with it on Amazon Temu. I considered all variables pros and cons between the two. Temu had many non branded toppers your brain gets dizzy sorting them out. Some almost look like the ones on Amazon picture wise and features. In the end I decided to buy one from Amazon because the price was about a few dollars more and if I found something wrong with it I could quickly pack it up and return it no questions asked. Also it’s something I’ll be using for a long time so I decided Amazon was a better seller for it. Every item can be vetted and the consumer ends up the winner. Just needs a bit of effort. And little more dollars in your pocket. 😊

These are items FBA sellers decided they didn't want to keep paying to inventory and did not want back, or they expired or had some other issue. Amazon doesn't care. They just throw them into the bulk pallets and auction them off for pennies. If Amazon starts deeply undercutting FBA sellers, a lot of FBA sellers will throw up hands and walk away from a LOT of this merchandise, which will eventually flood the bulk pallet sales. The bottom is about to fall out of the bulk pallet sales and all that abandoned FBA stuff is going to flood the channels that resell it. Wow. A tidal wave is coming.

When you say that building you own website for a better brand recognition you’re right. NO. I researched TEMU. It’s parent company was busted for being used by Chinese Military. Nothing is free. They give such cheap prices because the reL goal is to get into your cell phone. They had to use military level searches to find how the conpany was able to get into your phone undetected. They will be able to turn off the phones of anyone that purchased from them. All at once.
Temu is a child of that company.
Komando Kim has had an astute website for decades, updating people on how to improve your tech life and secure your computers, etc. She and others who help people to navigate programs snd security tested Temu and said to stay the bleep away. Even the military had a hard time finding where and how they breach your phone.
It’s fine if you don’t believe me. I don’t want to re-research the details, but the gyst of what I have shared is real.

Speaking from experience and having built E-commerce websites from scratch, then trying to get traffic, was a very frivolous process endeavor. We sold 10x more product on established platforms because of the traffic. It’s too expensive to drive buyers to a website that might generate less than 5 sales a month. We had way more scammers trying to buy off our site than anything else. A website is a better marketing tool for small businesses. If you’re serious about moving product, sell where the eyeballs are. eBay has been the most cost effective for a very long time. It’s a different story for selling/building a “brand” with notoriety. If you’ve selling the same thing as everyone else you have to compete over buyers.

Amazon's logistics are superior for the CUSTOMER - not because of the speed, but because of their tracking system. If you live in apartment building without an intercom, the ONLY way to get packages is to watch Amazon's tracking map & go to the door of your building to meet the driver when they're almost there. Even if you live in a house with a porch, you can still avoid "porch pirates" by using Amazon.
I realize this video was intended for sellers, but if you're a seller, you need to think like a customer. America isn't China. We stopped putting criminals in jail & most package thieves will never be punished. You need to work with Amazon if you want long-term customers. If your products are so cheap that the fees aren't worth paying, we don't want your products anyway.
