    Wow so much hate for women in the comment section and from women themselves! It takes balls to make a business as big as these women have made, no one is looking down on home work. I respect these independent woman and would actually request today's woman to please please not leave their jobs no matter how hard it is. India being a patriarchy at least you will have some respect in this society from your husband, kids or family members. Otherwise you will just be left in the comment section commenting on how selfish other working woman who have done something are. - A FATHER OF A DAUGHTER.

      This is actually what is patriarchy in another form now. Women don't need to be financially independent to demand respect. In a country worshipping female deities , do women really need to financially prove themselves to earn respect. Then start paying women for all the housework they do or start doing it yourself, then automatically you will start respecting them.
      Patriarchy in this form or that form is one and the same. Think over it.

    I feel that the financial independence of women is a must & only then can a woman truly have a say and live life the way she wants to (in most cases). Parents in urban areas, nowadays, mostly bring up their children, giving equal opportunity to both genders...hence it's up to the children (girls basically) what choices they make. In no way am I belittling homemakers as I know how hard it is to run a home smoothly, but yes, financial independence is a positive requirement!

      The problem I feel is not with the work one does. A lady if going by standard rates does laundry for her family, does household chores, makes food at the tip of a hat. She should be getting more than what her monetary power is may be now. The thing is depowering women because they engage in household work. When you do not have economic strength in you man can dominate you thousand other ways. As if the hardwork you do does not matter. I think that's why successful woman see this as a bad hindrance. Even within families this is an issue. Indian women if they could have participated in economy. They would have generated at least half of what our current economic output. One of my friends is doing research on unpaid labour of housewives. There is only meagre percentage of indian women actually working, many do not have the skills to do something else. And many do not prefer going out because of inlaws pressure. But times are changing let's hope for the best.

    Wow, thoroughly enjoyed Vineeta's talk. I'm sure her father is a proud father today watching her shining like this. I especially liked how she is not bothered about society's expectation on upbringing her kids. I had a "different" childhood with both of my parents working. I saw how the society was biased towards one gender. They discouraged my mom to leave her job for looking after me but they never had any issue with my dad working. Even as a kid, I always wanted my mom to wear the independent hat and not to lose her job just because she had "me" at home. That's how I also learned to become independent from a very young age by shouldering the responsibility of myself. Kids imbibe a lot from what they see in their parents :)

Either make rotis or go to IIT 😂 Make a couple of rotis for yourself and prep for IIT. It's a life skill and not gender specific. Goin to IITs they should at least know this part. Cooking is a skill that feeds one self in any situation. Once women said this and it made sense as it was relevant to those times when they had to only make rotis and not study. Hearing this in these times from these two "accomplished" women really shocked me! We are going to different cities to study and to work and cooking for self in the kitchen is a taboo??!! They said nothing about gol rotis... the context was ... Vineeta's father felt that being a women her natural instincts would make her compromise on her career and that's y he tried to make her more ambitious and never allowed her to go to the kitchen at that point of time...
      She said now when I do things in the kitchen, I fight with my father about not allowing me to learn this skill... but look at it... she has kids and she learned cooking automatically... that's what her father said... house hold chores and taking care of kids would come naturally to a women... it is the choice of making hard decision of being ambitious for her career that needs to be addressed in her childhood... and look at her she is fierceland what not... bcoz he did the right thing...
      So nobody here is saying that making chapatis makes anyone inferior... it comes more naturally to girls than boys...

    For centuries, women have been managing homes efficiently - it in fact shows their management skills - multitasking skills. In most cases, women had better management skills than their husbands. The only reason women did not rise up is that our society push them down. Things are changing for the better now.

    A wonderful inspirational real life reel. I am a professional actor and can vouch that sugar has smacked even international proffessional make up brands on face. It's balances quality, quantity and price, just like a smart intelligent woman who can balance a fact that she can roll breads but not born to do that only. At the end of day you need to be honest to yourself. No point being a grumpy homemaker. Women who fought for their identity may be called home brakers,but actually they make homemakers a Lil jealous. not being judgemental ,this is how I see, one needs to have self satisfaction.

    • @namita456
      @namita456 Před rokem +2

      No dear thats not ambition. There is difference between investing in knowledge, technical work and investing whole life in people and house work. What will you do when children will grow? You will only be emotionally invested in them and it will affect you when they will grow and start their own life, they will be busy in their job, personal life. Hsving carrier is imp. Managing house is not carrier. Even working women with 9 to 6 job manages home.

      @MK-hb8lo Před rokem

      I partially agree with your comment. Being in a full time demanding job and handling home and kids is very difficult. Women choose to quit jobs after having babies. Few who can get help to manage continue with jobs and few who don't have help at home have to quit without choice. But being a good house wife cannot be termed as ambition.

There is difference between doing 9 to 6 job at avg position and building a big empire by yourself or working at a leadership position in MNC. When you want to reach at top level you have to compromise with few things. No one is superwomen here.
      Literally the ppl in leadership position in MNC or big entrepreneurs work for 14-16 hrs. They dont even have time to sleep, making round rotis is far far far away
