That’s because the card has been discontinued to new applicants, BUT you can still get it via product change from other Marriott Bonvoy credit cards from Chase. Options include the Marriott Bonvoy Bold, Marriott Bonvoy Boundless, and Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful.

⚠ *UPDATE 7.01.2024:* Starting today, Priority Pass memberships on the Chase Sapphire Reserve & Ritz-Carlton Credit Card will no longer include restaurant, cafe, or market locations. Access will be limited to lounges & other select airport experiences (e.g. spas). This change was originally announced on 3.27.2024.
‼ *ADDITION!* The Ritz Card also gets you into the Chase Sapphire Lounges, learn more here: czcams.com/video/PkQ7rSJA6sU/video.htmlsi=M5PUCz-pLluuMLt3&t=474
⚠ *Q&A:* If you upgrade to the Ritz Card, when do you get your 85K Free Night Award? Frankly, I don't know, so I suggest asking Chase. Also, see this article by Frequent Miler (scroll down to the section called 'When to product change'). When did they change the ZERO elite night credits? On pg 8 of the welcome brochure it states, "Plus, you will receive 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year." oh, but then you say it does include it? Now i'm confused?
@@morkmckerr - 2 separate benefits.
Hello Mark! I really enjoy your videos and humor. Question though, I don’t think the Chase Ritz Carlton card still allows unlimited guest with their Priority Pass. Spoke to Chase yesterday and they said only two guest. Do you know or have any updates information on this? Have a great day.
@@Keith-s9q316 - No change that I'm aware of, however, individual lounges can still implement their own restrictions based on capacity. However, it's possible that the guest policy is now 2. I haven't received any announcements from Chase and/or Priority Pass regarding changes.
I really like Marriott properties, my only gripe is that Marriott will still charge “resort fees” even on free night awards whereas Hyatt and I believe Hilton do not.
Not every property charge those fees
Yep that's definitely frustrating.
Absolutely, resort fees have gone up so much!!!!!
wondering what are the fees?
Just upgraded for the card after a year and got my wife her own priority pass that she uses for a really nice lounge in her home country. Pretty amazing card.
Awesome! 💯
My RCR card is ~5% of my CZcams personality. I love it! And now the the FNA is an 85K certificate instead of 50K, the card can actually be used to stay at a freaking Ritz Carlton hotel now!
Great value right there!
Good video, I've always been curious about this card. I appreciate the disclaimer at 13:33 about how the 85k certificate can entice people into spending more than what they would usually spend. Always gotta be careful about that
Glad you enjoyed the video!
❤ the Chase Ritz Carlton CC. Thanks for the info + video!
You bet!
Great video! I appreciate all of the info! I also enjoyed the room tour you included at the end! Keep up the great work!
Thanks! 💯
I've had my eyes on the RC card for a while now and plan to get on the Boundless 12 month train soon. Hoping to product change to the RC a year from now. Keep up the great work Mark! That was definitely 1 of the nicest executive rooms that I've ever seen. Thanks for the info and the tips you provided in order to get maximum value.
Right on, go get it! 👊
Great break down and of course your slices are second to none. Thank you. I plan on going for my 3rd Ritz within the next 90 days.
💯👍
Great video! I will definitely upgrade at the end of my year! We are a double flight benefits family with family in Brazil so we travel a LOT so the unlimited priority pass will come in handy and the travel insurance seems amazing! We will definitely put it to good use!!
The worth it Section is beyond invaluable! I respect your transparecy and analysis so much !
Glad you found it helpful!
I think another great benefit will be the Saphire lounge access, key being it's more than once a year and guests. I think you did mention that on one of your other videos.
Yep, forgot to mention it here 👍 Made a pinned comment linking to the other video.
Excellent video, Mark! And great call on the free night cert caveats.
Do you think the RC card would be worth it if I'm a hotel free agent (no loyalty to a particular hotel brand)? I'd take advantage of RC's version of Priority Pass (especially for unlimited access to the Chase Sapphire Lounge), the airline credit, and free authorized users. The 85k free night cert and hotel-related benefits would be icing on the cake. That said, I live close enough to some RC properties that I could make a one night staycation out of it using the free night cert.
I see no issue using this card as a free agent.
I do wish this card gave higher status than it does, but either way, this is going to be a card I add in the near future. Great point about not overspending just because you have an 85k point FNC. Solid review Mark!
Yep Platinum Elite would've been better, but that'd likely mean another $650 AF!
@@MarkReesebreakfast for 2 at a St Regis twice and you’re at $650. Add in the other benefits platinum elites receive and I’ll pay $650.
Excellent video, Mark! This card is on my dream list! Once I’m under 5/24, definitely going for a Marriott card to get this!
Love your content.
- Ivan
Go get it! 👊
❤ Great review - thanks !
You're welcome!
Awesome content, thanks for sharing 👍 ❤
Glad you liked it!
I loved your first video about this card. Do you also have the brilliant?
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes, I also have the Brilliant.
Greta review! Can’t wait to get hands on this card next year once I get under 5/24
Make it happen! 💯
I love RC because I got an 85K cert, which I used for a $1,249 Hawaii hotel. Be Relax, Minute Suites, and restaurants in DFW, LAX, CLT, etc. accept RC, but AX and C1 do not have access. I use the $300 to buy AS lounge+, which also gets me in AA Admirals' lounges.
How many nights did you stay at the RC? Or did you move after one night?
Sounds like you're getting good value from the card! 💯
Another good video Mark. (:
Thanks!
I got this card about a month ago🎉🎉🎉! Looking forward to using all the benefits 😎
Congrats! 💯
Thank you for another awesome review, Mark. I guess you still prefer a physical key card vs. a digital key. 😉
I got both. But yes, until digital keys can consistently be added to mobile wallet, I find it way faster to use the physical key.
@MarkR: You forgot to mention in this video (like in your other video), the following:
Chase Sapphire Lounge Access:
--UNLIMITED VISITS (Adults)
--UNLIMITED GUESTS (Adults)
--UNLIMITED GUESTS (Childfren)
Yes, you described this in your previous video, but didn't elaborate on the ACCESS with the card AND the associated specific Priority Pass ....
Correct, I forgot to mention it here. However, I made a pinned comment to my other video that did elaborate on the access & associated Priority Pass requirement. Here's the link: czcams.com/video/PkQ7rSJA6sU/video.htmlsi=M5PUCz-pLluuMLt3&t=474
I love the Ritz Carlton. I can’t wait to upgrade my card.
💯👍
Hi thank you for the video.
Will I receive the certificate night up product changing the card or that only comes after the 1st year anniversary?
I don't know. I suggest calling Chase.

Thanks!
You bet, and thank YOU! 🥇
The Ritz Carlton Card will be my next card! Next week I will apply for the Chase Marriott Boundless to get the 12 month ⏰ started. 🍻 I hope there won’t be major negative changes to this card by the time I product change on September 2024.😮
Make it happen!
Hey Mark, I booked one night at the Ritz Carlton in DC staying this coming Sunday. Booked with my Amex Brilliant Free Night Certificate and I was curious about Club Level upgrade. Do you know if Ritz offers Club Level upgrade for a Fee ($) on a FNC redemption? I booked for September 3-4 and Ritz hasn’t reached out to me offering Club Level upgrade for a special Fee ($). Maybe they ask at check-in. The reason I ask is because Hilton always send me emails offering upgrades for a discount fee and including upgrades to their Sakura Club level on Conrad stays.
@@Leoprieto74- Not sure about paid upgrades on an award night. Hilton is great about selling upgrades via email; I've almost never seen Marriott do that.
I'd ask upon check-in.
@@MarkReese I appreciated your feedback brother! So I just couldn’t sit and wait for Marriott email or wait till check-in,.. I called and asked for an update to Club Level. I got it but I paid a lot of $$$ for it. I just wanted to have the Club Lounge experience at the Ritz Carlton. Now I know the true super power of the Chase Ritz Carlton card. Can wait to have it next year. Thanks again and have a great weekend. 👍🍻
@@Leoprieto74 - Legit & congrats! So to confirm again, you were able to do a paid upgrade to the Club Level while staying via FNA certificate? I'm guessing $150 - $200 per night?
Hey Mark great info got a question can you use this card to get into the Chase Lounges or is it just priority pass only?
Yes you can. See this video: czcams.com/video/PkQ7rSJA6sU/video.html
Hi! That 85k annual free night can be top off upto 15k making it 100k redemtion right? Planning to make marriot as our yearly ski destination in beaver creek with p2 should give us 2-4 nights both having the brilliant and ritz card
Yes, see the pop-up text at 3:16.
I'm back and forth with the value the Ritz card could bring me. Maybe when I do more luxury travel in the far future.
✌
I think it still worth it for sure! Time to pick up a Chase Marriott card to upgrade to this in 1 year!
Go after it! 👊
Thank you for video, I will apply bonvoy boundless later this week as I have to wait a little bit so my last hard inquiry will be removed. Now I have a question, so I have gold elite from Amex platinum (I’m AU), if I get approved for this card (hopefully), my bonvoy status will be gold elite still or downgraded to silver status? Thank you 😊
You'll stay at Gold.
@@MarkReese thank you so much, can’t wait to apply. Hopefully chase will still do product change next year.
Mark, quick question, do I get the 3 annual club-level upgrade certificates on year one of account (soon after getting the card)? Or after 12 months (account anniversary)?
You get them in Year 1 after getting the card and every year thereafter.
@@MarkReese love you brother 🥰
Can't wait to procduct change my boundless in a couple of months. It wasn't mentioned in your video but how much is it to add an authorized user?
$0 annual fee for AUs 👍
A bit tricky that the cardmember anniversary apparently resets when you product change AND apparently you don’t get the first annual cert until a year after the PC. 🧐
Seems that way per an article by Frequent Miler. I'd can't confirm it myself though.
Great info Mark question the $300 dollar incidental will NOT work for airline ticket’s correct or WILL it work on airline tickets? Thanks for sharing
Not valid for airline tickets (per the terms). However, some people have mentioned getting inexpensive tickets reimbursed (see example data point below by chuongmd). Can't guarantee it'll work with all airlines all the time.
I have been successful in getting reimbursed for small airline ticket charges, usually under $100. For example if I use an AA flight credit and have a small residual amount that I charge to my Ritz Card. I do this frequently and have never had an issue.
@@chuongmd- Thanks for the data point!
Would you rather book a Ritz hotel with Amex FHR because then you get the $100 credit plus free breakfast? Or do you find the rates better on the Marriott site?
Probably neither. I'd rather book the STARS rate via a travel agent & combine it with my elite status.
Here's a link to a blog post by OMAAT with more info: onemileatatime.com/marriott-stars-luminous/
Hi Mark, are there any data points of this card receiving the Chase Sapphire Reserve treatment at the Chase lounges? It's my understanding that the way Chase is differentiating their lounge usage based on their Priority Pass VS others. Would be curious to see how it's treated. Could be a sneaky extra bonus if it gets unlimited visits to the Chase lounges.
There's no difference. See my other video here for more info: czcams.com/video/PkQ7rSJA6sU/video.htmlsi=M5PUCz-pLluuMLt3&t=474
@@MarkReese awesome!! Must have missed this video!! Makes the Ritz so much more valuable!
question, when I get the Marriott Boundless in year 1, the SUB will not be cancelled once I product change to the RC card right? or do I need to consume all the SUB on the Boundless?
No worries with that. Once you earn the bonus & keep the card open for at least 1 year, the bonus is yours even after product changing.
If this card gave Marriot platinum like the Amex version then there’s no question to get it
That'd be awesome to see!
This is the card I want but don’t qualify. Nice video as usual Mark, thanks
👍👍
Now that is one amazing room
💯💯
I agree!!!
@@Sci-Fi_Fan296 🏆
Is it possible to use two free night certs on the same booking? I now have both the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant and the Ritz card so I’m wondering how easy it is to use those certs together.
Yes you can.
If I product change today do I get the airline credit this year? Also does the lounge access apply to the 85k cert or only to cash stays? Does the lounge access only apply to Rutz clubs?
1. Yes, the $300 Travel Credit runs on the calendar year (Jan. 01 - Dec. 31). So, if you get the card now, the credit will be valid thru Dec. 31, 2023. Then, the next $300 credit will become available starting Jan. 01, 2024.
2a. "Lounge access" refers to airport lounge access (via Priority Pass). Nothing to do with lounges at hotels.
2b. The "Club Level" certificates at Ritz-Carlton properties are not valid on award stays (i.e., they don't work when you redeem points or certificates). You must book an eligible cash rate.
2c. The "Club Level" certificates are only valid at Ritz-Carlton properties. They do not get you into any other Marriott hotel lounges.
@@MarkReese appreciate it
I need to wait 11 more months to PC to it. I hope its still around.
Btw for the Airline $300 travel credit. Can it go to a United Travel Bank ?
Not sure about United TravelBank, I haven't tried it.
VERY Nice‼️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
🏆
I have has my Marriott Bonvoy Bold for over a year and i called to upgrade, they only give e the choice of upgrading to Marriott Bonvoy Bountiful, the 250 annual card that is aweful, didnt give me a choice to Boundless or Ritz card!!! just tried as of Dec 31 and even today Jan 7th. Any pointer on how to ge that fixed or and i just stuck?
How about going from Bold > Bountiful, then Bountiful > Ritz?
See if that can be done.
stupid question, but if I product switch to Ritz this year, does the 450 AF hit right away? My renewal for my boundless card is 11/1. Is there a strategic way to product change? Before or after my AF?
I'm not sure. It may be different for different people based on their account anniversary date & billing cycle. I'd call Chase & ask.
Also check out this article by Frequent Miler:

I can't confirm the accuracy of what is said, but it's worth reading.
@@MarkReese appreciate the response. Thank you!
In order to maximize the benefits of this card, you should be a regular paying customer at RC. Those who regularly pay to stay at RC wouldn’t need the airline incidental benefits. I can only afford to stay at RC with points, so it’s not for me, even though the card is really cool.
To maximize fully, yep 👍
hello Mark as of January 2024 is it still available to get via product change?
Yes 👍
Or @ 13:18 you’d be willing to pack up and move to another property or redeem other cert(s) 🤔
Another option 👍 I've done that in the past & always found it a hassle, so I rarely do that anymore. Some people may not mind it though.
Does the travel protection for car rentals cover authorized users?
I think so, but I can't confirm. Call Chase to inquire further.
I have seven reward days with national. If I use my reward days, and use the ritz Carlton card to pay for the taxes, will the ritz Carlton card cover the insurance on the rental?
Not sure about that. I'd call to ask directly.
Clarification from everyone, to qualify for the Chase Marriott card (before the 1 yr upgrade) are you eligible from the 24 month past card approval or welcome bonus.
Gotta make sure you comply with all the rules 👍
Do club level upgrades work with free night certificates?
No
Nope.
Hello, Do you know when exactly you receive the 85k free night? I just product changed and my anniversary night for my Marriott boundless is not until May 2024
I don't ✌ I suggest calling Marriott to ask. It can vary for different people.
@@MarkReesethank you!
I have both this and the Amex brilliant
🏆🏆
Not sure if Bold is available for PC anymore.
I called few times to PC my bold to RC card, but Service rep says its not showing as available even tho I had this card opened for 1.5 year and 20k limit
Interesting, thanks for the data point! Did you ask the representative if you could upgrade by first changing to the Boundless?
@@MarkReese Service rep told me only available PC that could see was bountiful - do you think I can switch to bountiful and then try Ritz card without having to wait another year?
@@kildli - I don't know if Chase's internal rules have changed, esp. if upgrade/downgrade offers can be targeted. Ask them & see if that's a possibility 👍
I had the same problem. I eventually found out that you can only product change to the Ritz Carlton card “from another annual fee card”.
So the rep upgraded me from the bold, to the bountiful, and then a week later, I was automatically upgraded to the Ritz Carlton credit card.
The Ritz Carlton card has been great! As someone who travels 250+ nights/year for work, I find a lot of value with this card!
I have the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless and AmEx Gold. Do I need to get the AmEx Platinum AND upgrade to The Ritz-Carlton Visa?
Nope.
Which would you recommend? I assume the AmEx Platinum over the Ritz-Carlton Visa.
@@kaina732 - Only you can decide that for yourself. They're 2 very different cards.
Amex points are more valuable than Marriott points; they're way more flexible.
The Amex Platinum's benefits are very broad for a lot of different uses.
The Ritz-Carlton's benefits are specific to Marriott, and it also has a much better Priority Pass membership.
Get the card that gives you what you want 👍 The answer will be different for different people.
@@MarkReese Mahalo!
10 months until I can upgrade mine.
Exciting!
Do you get the free night certificate in the year you product change? what if I already paid the annual fee for the boundless card and used the 35k point certificate three months ago? Would Chase refund me 9 months worth of the $95 annual fee paid, charge me for 9 months worth of the $450, then issue me a 85k free night certificate?
I don't know.

Thank you for your helpful response!
does the credit only work for those categories listed because I use none of those? T_T
Correct. Can't use it for airfare, just incidentals
Currently Holding Marriott Chase BOLD (No Fee) - bonus more than 2 years ago
Can I product change to Ritz Carlton (want to give family members free AU for Lounge benefits without fees) AND Later on apply for the Marriott Boundless $95 card welcome offer - or have to wait 2 years or cant have 2 Marriot cards simultaneously in Chase family- want to get the Boundless for FNA annually
It's my understanding that you should be able to product change Bold > Ritz, then apply for the Boundless with welcome offer.
This card is only good for people that spend $800+ per night on rooms. & to be honest I went to a few boutique hotels under Hyatt in Europe that were significantly cheaper and felt more boujee than ritz.
✌
Is it overkill to have both the Ritz Carlton Card and the AMEX Marriott Brilliant?
I have both and the bonvoy business too
The Marriott Brilliant gives Platinum Status
For some people...yes.
For others...no.
Depends on how often you stay at Marriott properties, what benefits you actually care about & use, etc.
Great video. Any idea if elite nights and free night credits would stack for each of these cards since they would be linked to the same bonvoy account?
I just upgraded but the rep told me i will only have lounge access with ky priority pass no restaurants
Interesting. I just made several phone calls & one rep said the same (the others didn't know). I'll have to try it out in the real world.
Please be sure to let us know if it works or not for the PP restaurants. It should consider its kinship with the CSR. @@MarkReese

With 1 yr visa boundless, is getting the Brilliant amex b4 ritz worth it bc of combined 55 elite night vs. 40n only possibility? I read chase gave that accidental credit to some. Have amexp, M biz, and v boundless.
You can only earn a maximum of 40 ENCs per year (that is, a max of 25 on the personal side + 15 max on the business side). For those who earned more, that was the result of a one-time error that Marriott has since corrected. It shouldn't happen again.
@@MarkReese well, if many have platinum with few rooms to meet demand, is there much reason to pursue brilliant before rc? Dynamic pricing may limit 85k award night against the AF.
@@Ricocase- I don't currently feel "many" are Platinum Elite, since "many" are not willing to pay a $650 annual fee, but I also don't have the user demographics from Marriott.
